Yoh-gurt Froz

By | What's New at Power Plant Mall, Yummy! | No Comments

Yogurt is the “IN” thing! I LOVE YOGURT!!!Everytime I see a yogurt place, I get so excited and need to try it!!!  I discovered this at the Urban Bazaar at Rockwell a few weeks ago.   I got to meet the owner, Jane, as she was there making sure everything was going well.  They have two concepts, the usual yogurt with toppings ( TOP IT )  and then the yogurt that is swirled and mixed ( MIX IT ) with the fruit or flavor of your choice. You can also get them for your private parties/events

Mich Araullo

By | Fashion, What's New at Power Plant Mall | 3 Comments

I received a message from Popsie to visit her cousin at the Urban Bazaar in Rockwell. Mich is a college student and does fashion on the side.  Popsie told me that she only showcases her items in the Urban bazaar as she is really still a full time student.  Her booth was very busy

Popsie, you are a great and proud cousin giving so much support to your cousin!  I think that at a young age we should support young children/adults when they show interest in doing business or pursuing their career.   The guidance and support you get from your family and friends is very important.  Her Dad and Mom were there also at her booth helping her sell!  Mich is a lucky girl!

To Mich, good luck in pursuing your career or whatever it is you will do after you graduate!

Old Asia

By | Shopping, What's New at Power Plant Mall | 3 Comments

It’s been 17 year since Tita Pachot started Old Asia.  She was one of the first in the business till everyone else followed.

More power to Tita Pachot and Old Asia!

Of course, behind Tita Pachot is her loving and supportive family….

and friends….

Tita Pachot selects everything that goes inside the store…and everything is beautiful! I think that in every business, what is important is the owner’s touch.  It makes a whole lot of difference and you will know it…

My favorite is the HEART shaped one covered with flowers on top!  Icing Icing!! and flowers at that! YUMMY!

What an interesting name and names of pastries! I wonder if it really works as a “gayuma.”  I will have to taste it yet!

I googled the definition and found this which may give you an idea for those that do not know what it means ( taken from Pyrexia’s Crepitus ):

Gayuma = love potion in” tagalog.” More than being a concocted drink or additive, it is also associated with any object that arouses one’s sexual desire towards another person, usually the one who gave or owned the object referred to as gayuma. (my definition)

In the Philippine setting, although accepted as a myth or a superstitious belief, gayuma is still something that most people turn to when it comes to matters of the heart that can’t be solved by courtship or any other means of winning one’s heart. Concocted most of the time from herbs, plant roots, and other stuffs believed to have extra special magical powers, they aren’t hard to find once you know where to look for them (most of the time near prominent churches such as Quiapo church and Baclaran church). Since the early times, its effectiveness, according to its patrons, is proven and will not fail as long as one believes in its mystical properties.

Last year was the first Baker’s Dozen. It was originally scheduled for September but the participants themselves made a petition to extend. The Baker’s Dozen was extended until December. Here is the feature I made last year on the Baker’s Dozen ( click on the link )
