Lulu Belle

YUMMY!!!!! I LOVE FROZEN YOGURT!!!!!!! And finally they have a permanent one which I can go to any day I want in Powerplant Mall at Rockwell!! I tried it yesterday and LOVE IT!!! I met Joji Yujuico who is one of the owners of Lulu Belle. She told me that Lulu Belle is a concept developed by her and her partner and everything is locally developed – the name, the brand, the logo, the formulation of the yogurt. Joji also told me that the ingredients they use for their yogurt are all fresh ingredients and nothing imported and powdered. So be assured that you are getting a good product.

I noticed that eating frozen yogurt does not make me full, it is not a heavy feeling but a refreshing and light feeling so I guess it means it is healthy…or I am just trying to justify my eating one cup after the other because I LOVE IT!! 🙂

So hurry and try it!!!

Yoh-gurt Froz

Yogurt is the “IN” thing! I LOVE YOGURT!!!Everytime I see a yogurt place, I get so excited and need to try it!!! I discovered this at the Urban Bazaar at Rockwell a few weeks ago. I got to meet the owner, Jane, as she was there making sure everything was going well. They have two concepts, the usual yogurt with toppings ( TOP IT ) and then the yogurt that is swirled and mixed ( MIX IT ) with the fruit or flavor of your choice. You can also get them for your private parties/events

Sandy’s Pizza

TRY IT! TRY IT!!!

I like celebrity anything! Sandy is the sister of Gabby Concepcion who was once married to one of my favorite stars, Sharon Cuneta 🙂

Thanks to my friend, Michele, for telling me about this!! We have to have it together one of these days!

Just the menu alone made me want to order immediately. They have a SAMPLER where you can have 4 kinds of pizza all in one! They deliver to Makati but it takes an hour and half! I will wait!!

Make sure the pizza is reheated before you eat it..it makes a big difference. The pizza was a bit late so since the guests were waiting, we did not heat it anymore and ate it straight. When we ate the leftover slices the next day and heated it, it was much much better!! So make sure to pre heat your oven before the pizza arrives, then heat it and EAT IT!!

Sweet Bella

Aside from the beautiful presentation of these cakes, they are just a yummy as they look! Heart2Heart is so lucky to have tried both cakes on two occassions. That goes to show you how popular that feature was from the Philippine Daily Inquirer by Vangie Baga-Reyes on the 20 Yummiest ( privately Baked ) Cakes because these two cakes made it to that list.

Apparently, these cakes are made by the daughter of Melo Santiago of Melo’s. I hope to meet her one day.

Visiting the Bakers Dozen at Powerplant Mall

If there is Heaven on the 5th at Rustan’s Makati, there is Heaven on the ground level at Powerplant Mall 🙂

I stopped by last friday to see what is new or what I had not seen last year….

I was so happy to have finally met Tin. I featured her YUMMY apple pie before and I am glad to meet the woman behind it all.

Costa Brava!! I was hoping to bump into Nadine but she was not there yet. I love her heart shaped cakes which come in mini sizes..and suprised to see that now she makes cupcakes too.

I always ask each owner what their bestseller is or what they are known for….Tunnel of Fudge cake is their bestseller. They also make speciality cakes for occassions

I was very happy to meet the owner of Estrel’s! When I saw her, I said, are you Estrel’s? I was so embarassed! Her name is Joy! I always hear Estrel’s Caramel cake all over the place so I got excited when I saw them at the Baker’s Dozen and of course I want to always meet the owner. Joy was so nice! She even gave me a cake! She made sure I came back for it because I was carrying tons of things. My favorite is the HEART shaped one covered with flowers on top! Icing Icing!! and flowers at that! YUMMY!

Best seller: Carrot cake and Bread Pudding!

OH MY GOSH TIPPI!!! I spotted your carrot cake cookies right away!!! YUMMY!!!!! 2 cookies with cream cheese in between!!!! I am definitely going back to get some!!!!!

I think I am into carrot cake suddenly – even that carrot cake of Christine’s Kitchen was really good!

What an interesting name and names of pastries! I wonder if it really works as a “gayuma.” I will have to taste it yet!

I googled the definition and found this which may give you an idea for those that do not know what it means ( taken from Pyrexia’s Crepitus ):

Gayuma = love potion in” tagalog.” More than being a concocted drink or additive, it is also associated with any object that arouses one’s sexual desire towards another person, usually the one who gave or owned the object referred to as gayuma. (my definition)

In the Philippine setting, although accepted as a myth or a superstitious belief, gayuma is still something that most people turn to when it comes to matters of the heart that can’t be solved by courtship or any other means of winning one’s heart. Concocted most of the time from herbs, plant roots, and other stuffs believed to have extra special magical powers, they aren’t hard to find once you know where to look for them (most of the time near prominent churches such as Quiapo church and Baclaran church). Since the early times, its effectiveness, according to its patrons, is proven and will not fail as long as one believes in its mystical properties.

Cacao

My friend Bubu is so enterprising! She is the CANDY QUEEN of the Philippines!

I really admire her for being able to start her own business and making it grow to what it is today. She is the one who created Candy Corner which she later on franchised. Candy corner now has 77 outlets, 49 of which are still owned by her. Bubu is also the one behind Nuts about Candy, Good To Go, Snak Shack and Buzzy Bees Cafe in the Children’s floor of Rustan’s. Her latest store is Cacao in Serendra.

Cacao imports chocolates from the US. Their most popular chocolates are the sugar free and dark chocolates. Bubu told me that before Christmas, she will have chocolates from Switzerland as well! Wow!!

After choosing the chocolates that you want, you can put them in a nice gift box with a beautiful ribbon. Ready to be given as a gift.

Bubu also distributes Tootsie Roll Industries with brands such as:

Cacao sells Body Frosting! Hmmm… Bubu asked me what flavor I wanted as she was going to give me a bottle as a gift, I told her, it depends on who will be eating it! 🙂 🙂

And Bubu also gave me this!!! YUMMY!

Mango Torte by Icing’s

Thanks to Tonypet and Leslie for this new discovery! Mango Torte by Icing’s! It is a different kind of Mango Torte so do not expect it to be like the Cuerva’s type or other yummy Mango Torte’s out there. It is a spongy type with plenty cream, not so much mangoes. I have never tried anything like it before so it was a novelty for me. I always like discovering and trying new things!

I actually visited Icing’s in Market Market as it is the closest one to me. And true enough, they had no stock of Mango Torte. It is one of their bestsellers! They have other Mango cakes but were all out. The cakes in the counter looked good but they were very strict on picture taking. But I was able to get a stolen shot 🙂 According to the sales girl, their best sellers are the mango cakes and their sugar free cakes which again had no stock during my visit. She also mentioned that they have a more complete line in their main branch in SM Supercenter in Pasig. They also have breads. There was a ciabatta type bread which I still want to try. One of the breads which I really liked was the parmesan bread!

Thanks Mykie for introducing me to these spices!! I looked for the Sea Salt with herbs and discovered many others which i liked and in Rustan’s Fresh San Antonio and Makati!!! There are so many other kinds in the website of Carmencita.com. I wish they had the other kinds available here.
