Bohol Bee Farm

By | Foodie, Travel | 2 Comments

1.jpg

I can’t believe we almost did not go here.  We were so happy at the resort and did not want to leave.  Never leave Bohol without stopping by the Bohol Bee Farm.   We met the owner, Vicky, through Yvonne.  Vicky has a nice quaint house in the farm and lives there too.  Love the place, the experience, the food and the products they make.

THE SHOP

DRY GOODS

FOOD PRODUCTS

THE RESTAURANT

Newly opened last October

FOOD

We had a more private dining experience which Yvonne arranged for us.  You need to pay a little more but atleast it has aircon and we had the place to ourselves.  The food was organic! and very YUMMY!!! Buffet price (not using the private dining room -THE BARN):  P 400.00 for adults and P 200 for kids.

The RESTROOM

THE COTTAGES

They  have 13 cottages where you can stay in……

THE BEES

The place had a tour but due to time constraint we just did the bee farm tour.  They show you the plants and trees that they grow in the farm and have feeding of the rabbits if you have more time to spare.  The kids enjoyed tasting the honey!

It unfolds the story of how these visits changed Mitch’s outlook on life. It is a feast for the mind and the heart.

Director
Ana Bitong

Synopsis
“To be, or not to be: that is the question.”
– Probably the most famous speech in the English language from Shakespeare’s greatest masterpiece. Prince Hamlet attempts to seek revenge on his Uncle Claudius for poisoning his father, King of Denmark, and ascending to the throne. Hamlet exceeds by far most other tragedies of revenge in picturing the mingled sordidness and glory of the human condition. This is the first time Repertory Philippines takes on this dark tale of indecision, revenge and retribution, deception, ambition, loyalty and fate.

Wine Depot

November 23, 2007 Thursday

Thanks again to Mike and Gloria for a great recommendation.  We were looking for a place to celebrate the birthdays of Dette and Brenda. Gloria highly recommended the STEAKS and that was what we enjoyed the most.

Wine Depot is a wine shop until you walk further inside to the end where they have a restaurant.

We got to meet the chef and owner.

He explained the menu – that being he can cook anything in the board in any way we prefer.  Interesting! Though we just left it up to him to recommend as he should know best what he can do best.

ING NYC Marathon 2007

By | Giving Back, Great Achievements | 6 Comments

I am so proud of my cousins, Nina Herrera-Huang and Ton Concepcion for joining the ING New York City Marathon, one of the 5 WORLD Marathon Majors. (Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago and New York).  It was a Marathon that ran thru the 5 boroughs of New York and in the process crossed 5 bridges, a total of 42 kilometers or 26.2 miles. This year there were 39,000+ participants.

Nina finished it in 5 hours 18 minutes and Ton  in 4 hours 49 minutes.

334565225503_0_alb.jpg 18469-619-029f.jpg

Many people wonder why many people join marathons and Nina’s husband and my cousin, Anton had a good way of putting it:  “People say that running the NY Marathon is running a personal marathon. 99% of the participants do not do it to compete against the thousands of others that are there struggling to cross the finish line. They are there to endure a life changing exercise, to prove something to themselves or as a form of sacrifice to create awareness for a cause of a loved ones suffering.”

261696306503_0_bg.jpg

Nina had her own reasons and one of the reasons was FOR A CAUSE which probably gave her more courage and strength to finish the marathon.  It all started with her sister, Pinky Herrera-Brady, who first pledged to donate a pair of ADVAN children’s sneakers for every kilometer that she finished.  The sneakers will be given as a Christmas present to a Filipino street child supported by Kidsmile Foundation, a charity organization run by Pinky and her friends, Nicole Olbes -Fandiño and Ana de Borja-Araneta. WHAT A GREAT IDEA!!!  Nina was able to raise pledges for approx. 2,500 pairs of shoes. In peso amount this comes up to P500,000.YAY KIDSMILE!!! YAY NINA!!!

To read more on Ton’s experience, see his story.

Congratulations to Nina, Ton and the other Philippine representatives, you make us Filipinos proud! 688639895503_0_bg.jpg

Ba-rage sale!!!

By | Classifieds/Segunda Mano | No Comments

They normally have this sale in the DVA pavillion. Now it will be in the Colegio San Agustin covered court, a much bigger venue. I am assuming it is because the pavillion is too tight already. We joined once and there were really a lot of people. My friend joined as well and she said she was very happy with how much she made considering it was all second hand items she wanted to get rid of. You might want to join either as a vendor or as shopper.
