It made me when I found out that some friends of mine had a foundation which is similar to my foundation. It’s all about CHILDREN and about making them .
Kidsmile Foundation is a small, home-run foundation that my friends Nicole Olbes Fandino, Pinky Herrera Brady and Ana de Borja Araneta started about 7 years ago with a couple of other friends.
They provide street children with gifts and experiences to make them smile, so they fund raise so they can treat the kids to fun things like trips to enchanted kingdom, the zoo, theater perfomances, give them sports equipment, noche buena treats for their families, and many many more.
They donated a van for the kids to use to go to school on rainy days and Fr. Thomas (the head of the foundation) was able to use it for their marketing needs, taking sick kids to the doctor, and they use it for the outings they sponsored for the kids.
Last year, they made a holiday-themed gift tag sticker sheet which was a big success so they were able to distribute to over 100 children back-packs filled with back-to-school goodies like school shoes, notebooks, pencils, ballpens and some cookies. The recipients are all former street children that are now living in Tulay ng Kabataan and the Jesus Loves the Little Children street children centers. These centers take care of the costs of sending deserving children to school and Kidsmile support their efforts.
This year, they came up with 2 kinds of gift tag sticker sheets; a new holiday set, as well as an all-occasion one. these stickers make perfect gift tags. each sheet has 17 stickers and are priced at P25/sheet.
They also have printed holiday photo cards. The cards come in sets of 10 cards with 10 color coordinated envelopes. they come in 5 colors: red, green, cream, burgundy and blue. the cards have slits to hold a 4″ x 6″ photo. Cost: P300.
So, hope you can help them make more kids this coming Christmas.

I love sharing GREAT IDEAS!!! I am so glad I have my camera to always capture them.
My cousin, Crix, prepared a wonderful buffet spread which was so pretty…and I am sure yummy too!!!! It was an after dinner buffet and it had mini sandwiches, mini cakes and pastries.
My sister, Tina, President of the Beacon Parent Association ( BPA ), invited me today to the BAKE SALE at the Beacon school lobby which is held every other Friday. The parents donate their homebaked goodies and food to sell to the students during snack time. All proceeds from the sale of the food goes to the BPA fund which is used to improve the facilities of the school. What a great idea and what super moms they all are for doing this for the school and for their children.
One of their main fund raisers for the year is a book which they concocted.
I am sharing this with you as I know many of you will find this very useful. I am a big fan already of the book even if I have not seen the contents because I am always asking everyone where they got what! or where I can get this or that! So i am sure this book will be very informative.

Due to inquiries on the S’mores from Kai’s catering, here is a separate entry on it.
The S’mores was provided by Kai, they serve it as a dessert in their restaurant. It is inspired by the chocolate bar from Hersheys.
It is just graham crackers, marshmallow, and chocolate spread and barbeque sticks to hold the marshmallow. Cook the marshmallow over the fire ( bonfire style ) till the marshmallow gets cooked or starts getting soft then put it in between 2 graham crackers with the chocolate sauce. VERY SIMPLE! 🙂 My friend, Janet, mentioned this to me before and they make this in front of a bonfire while camping with their kids. A very American tradition. So the marshmallows can be cooked on top of any fire, but for kids, i suggest you use these small japanese burners so it is not too dangerous.
Celebrating 20 years of Professional Models Association of the Philippines ( PMAP ) Manila Peninsula, The Rigodon Ballroom
Aside from Rustan’s being a sponsor for the event, We were personally invited by one of the featured designers, Marden Iglesias, which was why we made time to come join the celebration. Past and present models of the PMAP paraded the ramp, directed by the one and only Jackie Aquino. 20 designers were featured and showed off their beautiful collections. Congratulations and more power to the Filipino talent!
Our friend, Derrick, introduced us to this a few months ago in SF, and now we discovered it is available at Rustan’s Supermarket FRESH for P 168.95. What a unique flavor from Altoids!! Yummy too!!
Dad celebrated his 80th birthday! What a milestone!! We had dinner with just the immediate family and the grandkids came over to greet Dada. Tippi prepared a superb meal…as usual. Dina presented her gift which was a nice video showing old photos and where his close friends greeted him and paid tribute to him. We were all in tears…..Dad is one of the simplest, kindest and most patient man that we know. We love you Dad! |
Kai is one of the favorite restaurants of the family and this is the first time we have it at our own home. It was superb! |
My brother spoils Margs to the fullest!! What a lucky girl! He gave a nice dinner for Margs on her birthday. It was an intimate get together with all her closest friends. It was a nice quiet evening, though I do not know what happened when we left after dinner…I heard the party ended at 4 am 🙂 Happy Birthday to our dear sister Margs!! We love you! |
