This fashion season, Max Factor partnered with Julien Macdonald for his Spring Summer ’19 show which took place over the weekend at London Fashion Week. The makeup look created by Max Factor Creative Director Wendy Rowe was designed to complement Julien Macdonald’s bold designs which captured the essence of the Amazonian women.

Wendy Rowe, Creative Director and Global Makeup Artist for Max Factor commented:“This season backstage at Julien Macdonald, the models have an expensive red carpet look, with a structured and statuesque feel. The beauty look has an elevated, modern and sexy edge to it, which mirrors the gorgeous designs in the collection.

 For the beauty look, I used Max Factor products; Radiant Lift Foundation was used for skin to create a gorgeous, glowing base combined with an alluring, pulled out smokey eye look, a sculpted contour to enhance the structure of the face, and a matte nude lip. The girls are all undeniably still quintessentially Julien Macdonald women, but they have a fresh colour trend update.

 The intense, smokey eye look starts with lots of mascara and black eyeliner, followed flash of peacock blue across the eyelid – a great way to freshen and modernise a sexy smokey eye, a new trend for this season. The skin has been contoured using the contour palette to add structure, and the Glow duo has been used to highlight and add a luxury glow feel to the skin.

 To finish the look, I used a liquid matte lip to add the illusion of fullness to the mouth, and I’ve dabbed a touch of the Velvet Matte lipstick in Nude in the centre of the lips as a finishing touch, to soften and add volume.”

SKIN

“Wendy used the *upcoming Radiant Lift Foundation but to add extra dewiness to the skin she mixed in some of Miracle Glow Pro Illuminator with the foundation before application The look is customizable for each model dependent on skin tone”. Ensure that the skin has been cleansed, toned and moisturized. Apply a layer of the *Miracle Glow Pro Illuminator. Apply *Radiant Lift Concealer underneath the eyes and down the nose bridge. With a foundation brush, apply a thin layer of the Radiant Lift Foundation, to create an even complexion but allow any natural markings to still be visible. Using the Miracle Contouring Palette, enhance natural shadows in the sockets for the eyes, along the jawline and into the hollows of the cheeks.Warm the skin with the matte shade of Miracle Glow Duo, and then use the shimmery shade to really boost the radiance

EYES

“Eyes were sultry and smoky with a hint of colour and a pop of blue”Mix a small amount of Miracle Glow Pro Illuminator or Miracle Glow Duo to the eyelid to give it a slight sheen, which adds a real luxury feel to the eye. When creating a smoky eye for intensity really coat the top lashes with False Lash Effect Mascara in Black, but use the Lash Crown Mascara in Black to the bottom lashes for real staying power. Using the Kohl Pencil in Black, create and line along the lid close to the lash line (being generous with product), take the same shade into the waterline and also tight-line the top waterline.Using the blending brush and black eyeshadow from Masterpiece Nude Palette in Golden Nudes blend the eyeshadow into the kohl on the lid, slightly extending towards the outer corner to really elongate the eyes and under the lower lash line.Press a small amount of Miracle Glow Pro Illuminator or Miracle Glow Duo to the inner corner of the eye and press the blue shade from the Smokey Eye Drama kit in Azure Allure over the cream and into inner corner of the eye. Use the Brow Shaper to add slight definition to the eyebrows

LIPS

Apply Velvet Matte Lipstick in Nude all over lips and define the outer edges with the Colour Elixir Lip Liner in Brown N Nude.
