Salad Stop Now With 3 Branches in Manila

By | SSI Group Inc | 4 Comments

It is hard to talk about the business of SaladStop! without talking about family. SaladStop! is the brainchild of the Desbaillets family. Their father Daniel, and siblings Adrien and Katherine. When they first started, they thought of bringing a fresh and healthy alternative to Singapore but as SaladStop! evolved, they realized that it became a lot more than just a restaurant concept and that they were impacting people’s lives and well being.

Over the past 3 years, SaladStop! has evolved into a company that wants its customers to be more informed about the food they eat, with the aim of connecting people back to their food. This is where SaladStop!’s Eat Wide Awake movement comes in. Simply put, we want to change the way people think about their food. We want everyone to wake up to the fact that you are what you eat, and our mission is to be a leader in this change. In a world where speed, time and money are paramount, we sometimes get carried away and forget about appreciating the things that fuels us and keeps us going – our own food. Eating should be more than just being good to your body, but to everything around you.

SaladStop! was built as a family business and consider you a part of one big family. This makes every customer a part of the Eat Wide Awake movement!

Eating healthy shouldn’t be difficult, and with more SaladStop! outlets to watch out for in 2015, we’re making it a whole lot easier for people to adopt healthier eating habits by providing satisfying and tasty products.

Specialty Food Retailers, Inc. has the privilege of bringing the first SaladStop! international outlet to Manila. There are now two SaladStop! outlets in Manila: Central Square in Bonifacio Global City and in Power Plant Mall, Makati City.

Orientation and Moving In at Cornel

By | Education | No Comments

I learn so much from the Americans! 🙂  They are so creative 🙂  During Moving In day, they set up a sale for second hand furniture donated by students who do not keep their dorm room furniture or things and we saw the line of students who were waiting to avail of this opportunity since it is definitely cheaper and if you are lucky you might get something really nice at a bargain price and the beauty is all proceeds go to charity!
Orientation and Moving In at Cornell (4)

For those who don’t have the patience to do that or just want to buy new stuff, there is a tent from Bed, Bath and Beyond selling dorm essentials!  They are such an expert already no what students need, you don’t even have to think! 🙂Orientation and Moving In at Cornell (12)

Orientation and Moving In at Cornell (13)

They are so organised they have a system where they allocate a time slot depending on your last name.  That way, not everyone goes all at the same time.registration-permit-cornell r

You can park your car near the dorm so it is easier to unload the thingsOrientation and Moving In at Cornell (6)

There are student volunteers helping out during moving in day

and here they put a sticker on your tires indicating the time you started – and they give you a time limit of I think 20 minutes to unload and move your car out so other cars can park 🙂  We were actually earlier than 8 am! haha!!   We just wanted to be sure we did not get caught with the crowd.  Orientation and Moving In at Cornell (8)

The volunteers even help you bring the things 🙂  This was our son’s things! MY GOSH!  Orientation and Moving In at Cornell (7)

Mommy duties!  It’s a tradition on the first day of entering the dorm, I fix my son’s room.

Orientation and Moving In at Cornell (11)The last time I did this was three years ago when he entered boarding school. I know that this will only last for a day haha!! But it’s important he knows how it should be! And I’m so happy he’s proud that he’s from the Philippines.  He bought the flag on his own from Amazon which he had in high school. He will be fixing up his room with his roommate so for sure things will move around

Road Trip to Ithaca

By | Travel | No Comments

Heart2Heart loves road trips!  When people heard we were going to Ithaca – they said – how far!  But actually it was only 3 hours from New Jersey and the drive was so so beautiful!  I could not stop taking videos of the road!!  It is so therapeutic and so relaxing ( of course thats for me as a passenger haha!! )  I am lucky my husband is very patient to always drive us around.  We used to drive 5 and a half hours to New Hampshire and once we drove to LA for almost 10 hours so 3 hours is not bad! 🙂  Road trip to Ithaca (1)

Cottages Taken Straight Out of A Fairy Tale

By | Photography | One Comment

When it comes down to it, the houses we live in say a lot about who we are, and how we choose to live our lives. The beauty that surrounds us is sometimes reflected in our own hearts. So one must wonder what kind of imagination the people that built these cottages have, because they all seem to have been taken from some fantasy land and brought into our reality. I wouldn’t mind spending some time in any of these.
