My Daddy Love

By | Father's Day, Tributes | 2 Comments

When asked to describe my Dad,  there were so many many words to describe him!  And all of them were good!

Dad watch

We recently had a video made for my Dad’s 70th birthday by Producer Nicolo Reyes and Director and Writer Troy Bernardo and we asked friends and family to describe my Daddy and they too did not seem to find it hard to describe him.

“He is really a role model.  Imagine me being a priest, I have to preach almost everyday and you see a lay person giving you inspiration, words of wisdom, the serenity that he has in his mind and heart.  He is really a blessing”

-Father Julian (Priest )

“One day, this driver was taking me to my sister’s home and he told me – “Sir, your friend Sir Jun is a very good man.”  And that was out of the blue, totally unsolicited.  And to me that was most telling and to me I felt  it came from the heart and to me that was fantastic”

-Louie ( friend )

tribute IMG_6527

“He is very people oriented.  They felt so happy that a member of the family – a boss at that , went there.  It as a big deal”

-Jess ( HR Manager )

“One thing that characterises what he does is LOVE!  Love with passion and most importantly love with compassion.  The one that sticks in my mind that chraracterizes him is his love for people who should we say not as fortunate as he is or as we are.  I remember this fellow who grew up as one of the helps in our house. But he moved on to another company.  When he retired, he retired blind.  So what Jun did was take care of him for so many years.  He housed him, he made him a part of the household, he took care of him until he passed away.  And that is the compassion I am talking about “

-Butch ( Brother)

“He endures me, I don’t know what kind of internal  turmoil that costs for him to do it.  But anyway he did it”

-Gogs ( nephew)

IMG_2068“My parents loved Jun so much.  He was like a son to them.  And he is really really very nice.  He is truly a man of honour and dignity.  His humility touches everyone.”

-Dorothy ( Partner in Business  and very good friend )

Dorothy Dad tributeDad friends“What I noticed immediately was how he would give trust and dignity to the people who spoke to.  But here is the twist, everyone that he gave dignity and trust to was also held accountable,  and that to me was different. And for some reason you start to perform more”

-Dino ( Subordinate at work and nephew )

“His leadership style was always to affirm and celebrate and to make people feel great.  Increase everybody’s confidence.   That is why the malaskati and the esprit de corpse of the people are very very high because he had that way of leading and motivating.  His philosophy is in all things, in good times and in bad, and in all situations  just remember three words, just be fair,  just and be christian.”

-Donnie ( Subordinate at work and nephew )

“I think that But he really has a heart of gold.  He talks a tough game but he is actually a softie.  His generosity of time, the human connection he makes with other people. He is such a well loved person and it is genuine from both sides”

-Noey ( son )

“We used to play basketball together.  I was this cocky kid.  He put me in my place.  He stopped the game.  Quito, that’s not how you play the game.  You have to respect the game.  Don’t be dirty, especially to me your Father.  That really shook me. from that day on, it changed me, changed my outlook in life.  That’s one experience I will never forget”

-Quito ( son )

“The lesson that I have learned from Dad is to Always be true to yourself,  Integrity is so important.  Never compromise your values no matter what”

-Maricar ( daughter )

“One of the things I learned from him is how to be disciplined with the things I want to do, things that what I want to achieve.  One thing with my dad, he is always there when you need him I wish I could be like him and raise my kids the way that he raised us”

We are blessed to live out our dreams with you.  We are blessed by your love to wake up to it. tribute borsadad

Today, I gave tribute to my Dad. Many of the most successful and famous people in the world are either a King, a Pope, a President of a country, A genius who invented some gadget or a rich person who made it to the Forbes list of Billionaires. My dad is successful and famous and he did not have to be any of those. He is successful because he does what is right and what is good. God wants all of us to be Christ like ( Faithful, virtuous, prayerful, obedient, kind, generous, charitable, giving, patient, and humble ) and we know that’s not easy but my Dad is one of the few that I know that is Christ like – in his words and deeds.  Dad recently told us that he is happy to reach the age of 70 and just that alone is a gift And I benefit from that by being able to spend time with him.

Alegoria Collection by Carrera y Carrera

By | What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

Authentic sensitivity and delicacy, beauty and pure natural energy.  Spirit, meaning, and soul.  Transformative and evocative power.  Unique jewels that fly from the hands of our master goldsmiths leaving trails of gold, sapphires, and diamonds.

This is the new Alegoría collection.  Pieces where butterflies are the protagonists.  Fascinating and full of meaning and soul, these small winged creatures inspire stories that give flight to all of our fantasies and desires.  Stories, dreams, magic, but also spirituality.

But beyond the symbolic and the transcendent, the master goldsmiths at Carrera y Carrera pay tribute to eternal femininity with jewels that are characterized by dynamic volumes and harmonious profiles full of movement.  Life, movement, and weightlessness to make the jewels feel as if they are part of one.

Dream jewels that create a universe of mystery and sensuality where any fantasy can become reality.

Alegoría is a collection composed of earrings, rings, and necklaces that stand out for their trendy combination of white and yellow gold with pink sapphires and diamonds.
The maxi ring in white and yellow gold with diamonds and pink sapphires consists of an arm that simulates the branch of a tree where the butterfly embraces flowers with its antennae.  The difficulty of this piece was to create weightlessness, while simultaneously giving it an ethereal and organic character that would furnish a subtle fluttering effect.
Carrera y Carrera designers particularly emphasized sculptural work so that the movement of the wings could be appreciated from any angle.

Carrera Carrera Alegoria (2)

Carrera Carrera Alegoria (4)

Carrera Carrera Alegoria (3)

The earrings in yellow and white gold with diamonds feature a modern design where the concept of an earring is reinvented; it draws upwards as if the butterfly were taking flight.  The silhouette of the butterflies is filled with openwork that gives greater lightness to the pieces.

The maxi necklace in yellow and white gold with diamonds and sapphires simulates a flock of butterflies.  The butterflies flit and play with each other, bringing much movement to the piece.

Carrera Carrera Alegoria (1)

We also observe a filigree of lace in white gold suggesting a diaphanous fabric and a pavé of diamonds on the butterflies to simulate drops of dew.

The greatest difficulty in crafting this piece was to hide the joints without loss of movement and without damaging the necklace’s ability to adjust to the body.  To achieve this, the firm’s master goldsmiths integrated said joints into the different butterfly parts without adding any external elements.

These, among others, are the extraordinary pieces that make up Alegoría.

Luxury and sophistication combine in this romantic collection designed for a woman of infinite delicacy and femininity.  The perfect jewels to complete spring and summer looks.

Beauty, essence, and evocation.  A true allegory of life.

Carrera y Carrera was present at the gala of the 2015 Billboard Music Awards, where the most successful musicians of the United States gathered at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Taylor Swift swept into eight categories, obtaining the Top Artist award among others. The singer, who presented her new music video Bad Blood, wore with style the Tiger ring from the Bestiario Collection in white gold, smoky quartz and diamonds. This jewel, an icon of the brand, was the perfect companion to receive her awards and dazzle as the absolute winner of the night.

2015 Billboard Music Awards - Press Room

It is not the first time that the exclusive Tiger ring has been chosen by international celebrities. On previous occasions, this piece full of character and boundless creativity has been worn by artists like Madonna, Jennifer López, and it-girls like Olivia Palermo.

So to those of you with great ideas and want to test it out, look for RJ 🙂
