Art in The Park 2015

By | Arts and Culture | One Comment

On it’s 9th year of bringing affordable art to all of us who love ART, Art in the Park is on March 22 with 60 exhibitors.

On Sunday, March 22, the Jaime Velasquez Park in Salcedo Village, Makati, transforms once again into an open-air art hub for the much-anticipated Art in the Park. Now on its ninth edition, the art fair this year brings together an assortment of 60 art galleries as well as independent art and student groups, the big names side-by-side with the lesser known or soon-to-be known.

From 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., in the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere of the park, art lovers and enthusiasts, collectors and just the plain curious can wander the grounds, peek into any one of the tents, or linger and leisurely browse the trove of artwork on offer. With an array of paintings, prints, and photographs, pottery and sculpture to choose from, Art in the Park appeals to a variety of tastes and allows for a little bit of something for everyone.

Thrill to the discovery of a singular find; search for, or stumble into, that elusive, perfect piece; be beguiled by the novel, the different, the unique, and at the same time delight in a gem of a bargain or two, as prices are capped at no higher than P40, 000.00. This is in keeping with Art in the Park’s aim to make art affordable and accessible to all, providing even the budget-conscious the chance to own beautiful, engaging pieces from both established and emerging artists.

This is one of the things we bought.  The chocolate croissant 🙂  The hubby likes chocolate croissant so we are trying all the chocolate croissants in the country! 🙂  This is unique because it is covered with chocolate aside from it having chocolate insidePastry Shop at Bellevue Manila (6)

Ate half as is and half I microwaved for a few seconds so the chocolate would melt.  Very good 🙂 The secret would be to eat it right away freshly baked and right after the chocolate is poured so the croissant would still be crunchy and flaky.  So since we took it home, the croissant was a bit chewy already.  But my choco croissant loving husband said it was good 🙂

Lent Friday Lunch by Our Mother Butler

By | Foodie | No Comments

Thank you to our wonderful hosts – Mother Butler Lucille and Erie Calubaquib.  It’s a good thing this was planned at the same time I was going to be in the area.  But nevertheless we would trek all the way to the South for Lucille’s cooking anytime 🙂Lent Friday Lunch by Our Mother Butler (10)

She is our Mom!  She is always guiding us and leading us.  She is the one always organising and bringing us together.  She cooked everything from scratch!  And here she is leading the prayer before mealsLent Friday Lunch by Our Mother Butler (6)

Lent Friday Lunch by Our Mother Butler (7)

I brought these fortune cookies and gold Burberry ampao envelopes and put some candy and chocolates for the ladies – not money! haha Lent Friday Lunch by Our Mother Butler (2)

Lucille wanted to serve us steak but since it was Friday, she refused to serve it even if we told her we would pray the rosary after or do another sacrifice.  haha!!  She is so strict!:-)  Though the lunch was so good it was not really a sacrifice

Japanese Kani Salad which was taught to Lucille by one of the BFFs, Des, who could not join us that day.  It was so delicious!Lent Friday Lunch by Our Mother Butler (8)
