My good friend, Toots, is so creative!  She is the collage Queen 🙂  She does this as a hobby and a profession as she is an artist 🙂  Collage is not just an art piece, you can apply it to many things like this gift bag for example 🙂  Toots made this for me and gave it to me for my birthday 🙂  It’s so personalised because she knows I like pink.  It’s a bag that’s so pretty I used it again and passed it on to another dear friend of mine and I am sure she will reuse it again

bag-collage-classes.jpeg

Not only does Toots have classes, she can organise a Collage party!!!!  What a grand idea!!!

collage-classes-by-toots-magsino-ac-batch-87.jpgcollage-classes-by-toots-magsino.jpg

My batch mate Lally, arrived from Canada, so instead of just having a dinner, the get together was made into a Collage party

collage-classes-by-toots-magsino-2.jpg3-busy-working.JPG

This is how each of them described the party 🙂  It’s interesting what Art can bring out and what it can do to you.  It’s not only a work of art, it’s not only the act of making something, but read on to see what they have to say

about-toots-collage-classes.jpgabout-toots-collage-classes.jpgcollage-classes-by-toots-magsino-1.jpg

According to Clarissa, they each had to explain what their work was about  – The Collage they had to make was – Where you are now and where you want to be in the future.  Here are the finished works of the group

collages-1.jpegcollages-2.jpeg

She even had personalised giveaways for each participant

Live with Soul in Sta Elena by Architect Manny Minana

By | Homes and Interiors, Nature | 4 Comments

This is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen in the Philippines.  It has beautiful architecture and everything inside it is beautifully done with quality materials and furniture and accessories.  Another reason I love it is because it is Filipiniana. We are in the Philippines, we should build Philippine inspired homes and promote our very own.  This house is designed by Architect Manny Miñana who did such an amazing job!!!

View of the golf course from the front of the house

Back view of the plants in the front of the house

Take note of how big everything is in the house 🙂  And the valuable pieces inside like this wooden table

Filipiniana accessories all over

Giant lamps and vases

Beautiful antiques

First wing is where the Master bedroom is and 2 more bedrooms and a den

All the bathrooms in the house are standard having the same fixtures and look.  It’s a good idea because it gives the house a unified look wherever you go

Aside from the place being an events venue and because of the demand, they put up a hotel for the guests to stay in as well.  It is interior designed by Anton Barreto which explains the elegant design of the whole place!

The cozy dining area

We had a nice lunch when we arrived

Fresh watermelon shake

Mushroom soup

Salad

Puttanesca pasta

Iberian Chicken

Fresh fruits

This is the view of the hotel from one side of the place – on top is another venue for weddings/events

Another angle of the hotel

Greenhouse

This is being used for private dinners and for pictorials.  Many brides want their pictorial done here

Hillcreek even provides a salon and spa!  Salon for the events so there is a proper area to groom rather than using the hotel room to put make up and to do hair styling

Hillcreek Gardens Rooms Pavilion Gardens

By | Bridal, Green, Travel | One Comment

Heart2Heart super loves this new discovery in Alfonso, Cavite!

Here is the manager and owner of Hillcreek, Maryliz.  This is what is keeping her busy nowadays.  She is very hands on and is on top of every function in the place.

Maryliz told me that her Mom, Tita Baby Lirio, loves gardening which explains the beautiful gardens inside Hillcreek

As you enter you will see this bridge.

hillcreek-gardens-rooms-pavilion-gardens-18.JPG

A lot of couples have their bridal pictorial here 🙂

The main lobby which is also where the hotel is located

A mini cooper which bridal couples rent as their bridal car 🙂

Aside from this being formerly the private home of Maryliz and her family,  it used to be a coffee farm and you will still see coffee trees around

I love the feeling of this spot as you enter the lobby.  It feels like a villa in Europe 🙂

The stairs leading to the main house of Maryliz family

Wedding Packages

Leading to the main Garden

I love the sculptures around the place

Love! 🙂  Take note of the giant Christmas pine trees.  This is a work of love by the Mom of Maryliz – she really takes care of her garden.  And it was when a family wedding was held here that someone suggested that they should open this garden to the public

Here are some photos of some of the wedding set ups

There is another entrance to the garden and it has a separate driveway and entrance for cars

A chapel where you can hold mass

Grotto

Love this walkway on the side of the garden

Another venue

The Courtyard for Christian/civil wedding or for a cocktail area

Toilet 🙂

Greenhouse of Tita Baby

The Anahaw which can fit 70 people

The Courtyard

The Pavilion which is the indoor venue

Which has a reception area

Cocktail or waiting area

Then the main pavilion

There is ample parking inside Hillcreek Gardens

There are many pocket areas and you have small events like this 🙂

13 Surprising Home Remedies for Acid Reflux

By | Health and Fitness, Household Tips | One Comment

Thanks to my sister in law, Pam, for sending me this article.  I am trying these more natural remedies for my acid reflux rather than taking medicines that will only temporarily give relief. Of course # 1 is the hardest 🙂

13-surprising-home-remedies-for-acid-reflux.jpg

For my #4, I am taking Aloe Cure everyday.  Just like anything everyone reacts differently to depending on your body system.  For me, it helps a lot at night and is somehow making me sleep better.  This was introduced to me a few years ago by Tita Bettina

Stockton Place

By | Foodie | One Comment

Heart2Heart finally tried out Stockton Place after several attempts to reserve with Chef Andrew Escaler.  Unfortunately he was out of the country at the time we were there.  So we missed him.  His restaurant is in the building of my Lola 🙂

stockton-place-1.JPG

Though I like variety, I appreciate a simple and short menu.  It makes ordering easy 🙂  and you know that they focus on what they do best – Menu on the board
stockton-place-2.JPG
stockton-place-3.JPG

And on the clip board 🙂 I liked the presentation of every dish and the uniqueness of their dishes.  I love trying new tastes and combinations.  I never expect a dish to taste like something I have tasted before or for it to be a certain taste that is why I like almost everything 🙂  Each chef has their own interpretation of a certain dish and I love partaking of that creation
