We were on the go! Non stop! 🙂  Richard gave us a tour of the Moscow Metro!  I almost missed this since I was so tired already – but my Dad forced me to go and made sure I included this in my website!!  I am so glad I listened to him! 🙂 Â
Thank you again Richard for the tour! Â We went at night so that it is not as crowded as during the day or rush hour

Our last day in Moscow, we drove around an hour away from the city to go to Sergiev Posad.  Sasa picked us up in the hotel and even served us breakfast on the bus!  She spoils us too much! and we love it 🙂 Sergive Posad is a monastery.  They were renovating the place since they will be celebrating their 700 year anniversary so the government gave them funds to renovate!  It was time for Sunday mass so Richard and Sasa took us to their Parish where they go to  The parish priest is Father Michael Ryan who is a Marist priest born in Ireland and raised in England.  He spent ten years in Mindanao.  Coincidentally, he was assigned to Our Lady of Mt Carmel in New Manila where he met Sasa’s parents.  Sasa’s Mom taught him how to make pandesal because she was afraid he was not going to have enough to eat in Mindanao He has been living in Moscow for over ten years and ministers to several different communities including diplomats, French and English speaking Africans and Filipinos [email_link]

Sasa took us to this market, Dorogomilovsky, which is a fresh market! We always try to go to the local fresh market in every country we go to.  I did not know that photos were not allowed till I went out of the place!  Maybe that’s why some people were getting mad at me yet some people were okay with it and even smiling at me 🙂  honey!! Love how they display their fruits!!! This guy was happy 🙂 Dairy section! Cheese!! Caviar for 1/3 to 1/2 the price from the supermarket at Gum I told you they were happy 🙂 There’s a bakery on the side but it was closed already when we got there honey!! [email_link]
Even after lunch, we are thinking of food! 🙂  Richard and Sasa took us to this beautiful supermarket in the mall.  I guess it is cheaper to go food shopping than fashion shopping, so I’ll vote for food shopping 🙂 It’s a long strip and goes down a long stretch in the mall on the ground floor We never had caviar during the trip which is sort of strange, but anyway we saw them and we just looked at them! 🙂 All kinds and in all price ranges [email_link]
It was already 3pm and we had not had our lunch so as soon as we arrived at the mall, we went to eat! It is a self service type of place – get your tray and put what you see in the assembly line 🙂 Desserts in the beginning of the line til you reach the end with bread -reverse! 🙂 When I took this photo, there was still 1 piece of chicken ala kiev in the very end- well that was the last for the day! haha.  And it was very good!  My sister got that piece and it had cheese also aside from just butter [email_link]
After the Kremlin, we walked a few minutes to get to the Red Square and to where the shopping center was, Gum.  It was raining so it was quite gloomy and there were still scaffoldings in the red square since they just had some ceremonies in the area Several scooping stations around the mall We tried this one since Sasa recommended it – bragging about the dairy from Russia which is supposedly very fresh and very good Richard calls this “The feel good store.”  You will find everything 3 to 4 times the price in here compared to Izmaelova! 🙂  Previous entry:  Izmaelova October 30, 2013 We were so excited we thought we saw Tessa in the mall! 🙂 We took a peep outside the mall Photo opportunity with St. Basil’s Cathedral.  Because the weather was not so good, we were trying to just take photos from one of the entrances of the mall Then we decided to just go near since we don’t do this all the time! 🙂  Beautiful exteriors but they say not so nice inside, so we just took a group photo 🙂  Trying to hide the umbrellas but they still came out in the photo! haha Click below to go to the website of Gum  [email_link]
The following day was the actual tour of the Kremlin.  We just walked from our hotel to get here A unique looking bunch of trees in the premises Photos were not allowed inside but the museums were amazing!!!   Our tour guide who limps but is very strong and walks faster than all of us 🙂  [email_link]
