It was nice to be back at Balik Bukid!!  I love coming here even just to see what everyone is doing – selling, buying, eating, zip lining, boating, horseback riding and many more nature activities.  Heart2Heart wants to live with Soul and maybe one day would want to live in Sta. Elena!

Congratulations Gips and Hinds!!!  The family that knows how to live with soul!  May you continue to be an inspiration to others

Inspirations of Heart & Home by Nena Vargas Tantoco

By | Proud to be Pinoy!, Shopping | One Comment

One of my favorite booths in Balik Bukid!

inspiration-of-heart-home-by-nena-vargas-tantoco-2.JPG

By my Tita Nena! She is very very detailed and everything she does is always presented so well

inspiration-of-heart-home-by-nena-vargas-tantoco-19.JPG

Her household staff who helped man the booth that day. All in matching aprons

inspiration-of-heart-home-by-nena-vargas-tantoco-1.JPGinspiration-of-heart-home-by-nena-vargas-tantoco-25.JPG

Tita Nena turns something ordinary into something special by adding her little touches and her nice packaging

inspiration-of-heart-home-by-nena-vargas-tantoco-3.JPG

And since she is very religious, she sells many religious items

My gosh, look how she made a simple walis into this!

Plus she helps local Craftsmen

inspiration-of-heart-home-by-nena-vargas-tantoco-18.JPG

She even has handicrafts and furnitures made by the Mountain people of La Union.  She told me she does this to help them and that they are very creative

Taipan at Tower Club Philamlife Building

By | Celebrations, Foodie | One Comment

I wanted to spend time one on one with my friend, Margie, so I invited her to lunch!  She was so busy singing and being sung to during her birthday 🙂  I wanted to catch up with her

Previous entry:  Margie’s 50th Birthday April 21, 2013

I was eating this while waiting for her since she insisted that Tower Club was in RCBC Plaza.  She was arguing with the people there and saying that Tower Club was on the top floor 🙂  Hilarious as usual

I was checking out the menus

This looked interesting, I chose two dishes from this menu

image-copy-8.jpeg

Deep Fried Shredded Garoupa with Strawberry – I just realized now that as I am writing this, the fish was not shredded. hmmmm….But anyway I always like trying unique dishes so I ordered this rather than the usual sweet and sour pork or Lemon chicken

I subconsciously like dishes that are fried!  Crispy wrapper with Mango and Scallops

Margie on the other hand just wanted Dimsum so she ordered three dishes

image-copy-7.jpeg

Steamed Chicken feet which I did not touch 🙂 but is one of her favorites

Deep Fried Mashed Taro dumplings with seafood

Tofu Skin roll which was not on the menu but she managed to charm the waiter to have the chef make it and he did 🙂

As usual I was entertained by Margie.  She said the venue was very “STIP” ( stiff )  that is why she could not talk so loud and laugh aloud 🙂  But I am happy to get to know more of her everytime we meet

image-copy-6.jpeg

I am amazed how she can be a mother of 4 boys!  I have only two and it’s driving me crazy 🙂

Oops, I forgot the 5th boy in Margie’s life! 🙂

From a smartly-dressed man on the London underground, to dragonflies and a surfer riding a wave at sunset, these are the stunning images all vying for top spot in the world’s top photography competition.

The shortlisted images in this year’s Sony World Photography Awards have been unveiled, and as usual include a spectacular array of colours and subjects from around the globe.

The collection of pictures on this year’s list features everything from historic moments and spectacular landscapes to everyday portraits and detailed close-ups.

‘Within the Professional awards, the bodies of work are beautifully presented and distinctive, whilst in the Open categories, the single snapshots are diverse and demonstrate excellent skill within the amateur market.

‘The new Youth competition also delighted us, as we were thrilled to find some exceptional budding talent.’
