Foyers

By | Homes and Interiors, Travel | No Comments

In the building that we stayed in, this was the foyer as soon as the elevator opens.  And it was quite interesting because each floor was decorated differently

foyers-02.jpeg

James would press one floor when we go up or down just to see how the floors were decorated.  We didn’t do it too often since we might be stopped by security!  🙂  here are some of the floors we were able to look at

This time we we visited Hotchkiss

I noticed that these schools are “provincial” in a way that they are very secluded with not much distraction around the area which gives the kids an environment that is conducive to studying

Lush Wants You To Bag The Bag

By | Green, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

This was an old feature that was never published – but what a great idea and initiative by LUSH

Lush, leader of natural handmade products in the history of cosmetics is passionate about protecting the environment and animals wants you to help in the fight against plastic bags.

To promote the environmental policies and educate customers about the dangers of using plastic bags, Lush has started Bag the bag campaign, an advocacy to ban plastic shopping bags and encourage the use of re-usable carrier bags and paper bags instead.

A giant Bag Monster made of plastic bags, which resembles a live, walking, talking trash heap, rallied the Corte & Town Plaza of the Alabang Town Center in lieu of the campaign. The giant Bag Monster rallied the mall, assisted by a Lush store staff holding placards that read ‘Starve the bag monster—ban plastic bags!’ They also handed out educational leaflets to passers-by which gave more information on why plastic bags are detrimental to the environment and animals. The Lush store staff also gave out paper bags to customers who were willing to exchange their plastic bags or other shopping items. The stunt received an overwhelming response from the people inside the mall who turned up and filmed the bag monster in action.

To further promote the campaign, the activity will also be launched in Lush’s Glorietta & Bonifacio High Street stores. In these mall activities, Lush will launch a signature campaign where customers will be asked to sign the petition in support of the effort to ban plastic bags and promote the use of durable reusable bags.

Plastic shopping bags are choking the planet. It is said that one bag takes between 400-1,000 years to break-down, leaking toxic materials into the environment and are responsible for choking or starving ocean wildlife. Simply put, plastic bags are destroying the environment and harming animals, and Lush as a retailer is in a great position to put a stop to this.

Starting this June, part raising public awareness and getting shoppers to use reusable tote bags, Lush will no longer use plastic carrier bags and the small plastic product bags. These petroleum-based plastic bags will be replaced by recycled paper bags.

Join the Lush cosmetics’ fight against plastic bags. Ban plastics and save the earth one plastic bag at a time.
