My friend, Barbee, sent her son, Enrique to join the CISV camp last year! Looks like the kids enjoy at CISV, aside from representing our country, they get to meet different people from all over the world, they experience traveling and being with other children their age and a sense of independence living away from home. They are so lucky to have this opportunity to experience this kind of camp.
Thanks Barbee for sharing this with everyone at Heart2Heart!
Some info about Enrique’s camp and delegation:
• Children’s International Summer Village, QC Chapter
• July 1 to 28, 2011 in Fredericksburg, Denmark (30 minutes from Copenhagen)
• His village was called “Our World Village”
• Philippine Delegation: Enrique Chuidian, Luis Trota (son of Rica Tamesis & Robert Trota), Isabel Puno (daughter of Bea Lopez & Eric Puno), Katrina Villonco (daughter of Hazel Perez & Martoni Villonco)
• with Adult Leader: Anielle Banson
• CISV summer camps are called “Villages” and each village consists of child delegates (all 11-year olds); Junior Counselors (JCs); Adult Leaders and the Camp Director
• In Enrique’s Village, there were child delegates from 12 countries (each country sends 2 boys and 2 girls, plus one adult leader)
• Delegations from the following countries participated in his Village:
o Jordan, Belgium, USA, Costa Rica, Brazil, Italy, Germany, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Poland, and Philippines
o Junior Counselors and Camp Staff were also from all over the world
The next round of CISV camps will be in July/ August 2012. But, in early 2013, the delegates will start getting together for the Saturday playdays where they will all get to learn about CISV and its traditions; learn Filipino songs, games and dances to share when they go away to camp; make some great friendships and in early March, a lottery will take place to determine where these 11-year olds will go to attend camp. Next summer, I think the CISV QC chapter will be sending at least 5 delegations (20 kids) to Denmark, Sweden, Mexico, USA, Portugal.

I really appreciate creative works by friends. I know for sure that creativity is inborn and that no matter how hard one tries, it just doesn’t come out as nice as what people with creative talents do. I know because I am a frustrated artist 🙂 I took note of a few packages for Christmas, but when they started all coming in, I just lost track. So, here are some of the attractive bows last Christmas.
This is the ultimate bow that I received for Christmas! It is made by my Tita Nena who is super creative! I could not even figure out how she tied all of them together and she adds so many other ornaments and accessories and even puts a nice quote rolled into a scroll
A nice Filipiniana type of bow from Fannie Guanzon of Herb’s Best. She also sold these christmas gift baskets at Rustan’s with all her healthy products inside. Sold like hotcakes
This is a simple bow from Jones and Dad, but I like the way it matched the gift card which was so cute and it combined well with the gift bag. CUTE!
Another cute one from Toddy and Mel
From Randy and Pia – Again the combination of everything was attractive to me
From Gary and Alexie!! Love it! The wrapping paper combined with the ribbon and with a real candy cane
I’m sorry but I forgot who this was from, but its a nice bow 🙂 Next Christmas I will try to capture more!

Our fashion stylists – Quito and Pam, took us to 10 Corso Como! So we went to see the place and we had lunch as well in the area. On the way we saw the Galleria which is supposed to be their high end department store in Seoul. We just saw it from the outside
10 Corso Como
After window shopping 🙂 we had lunch at the Cafe which was a nice change from all the Korean food. This was our second Italian meal in Korea, it was okay but for some reason, it seemed to be lacking the authentic Italian taste. Maybe they adapted the taste to the Koreans, I do not know.
Fresh Burrata Cheese with Olive and Tomato paste with Toasted ciabatta
Sweet Pumpkin Soup with Foie Gras and Truffle Oil – Yum! My only order 🙂
Beef Tenderloin Carpaccio with black truffle oil, artichoke and arugula
Penne with bacon, tomato, onion and chili Pepper
Spaghetti with assorted seafood
Spaghetti with Anchovy, Arugula, Fresh Tomato and Capers
Tagliatelle with Truffle Cream and Oyster Mushrooms
Capellini with Bottarga, Squid and Capers
Black Truffle Risotto
Tagliatelle with Zuchini, Sea Scallop and Saffron
My favorite were the deserts!!!
Gelato for the kids
YUMMY Tiramisu!
Creme Brûlée
Frozen yogurt!!!! YUMMY!!
Not Italian but maybe more Japanese – my choice! Green Tea ice cream with Shaved ice! SUPER YUMMY! The ice was like snow!!!
Love the gift shop!!! They stopped me from taking photos!!

We didn’t really do much shopping, but we were able to visit some places quickly mentioned to us by some friends. As mentioned previously, branded imported items are 30% more and other imported items in general. So I would recommend doing local shopping or buying Korean brands or Korean made items.
Near Mc Donald’s in Itaewon is an underground market, you might find some nice export overruns here if you are patient enough to look
Crocodile and python skin products! 🙂
James wanted a wallet, but ended up buying a cheaper version using eel skin 🙂
I think he just liked the vendor so much since he was very kind,
he ended up buying things he did not really need. Even Javier got an eel skin belt for himself. Yikes! 😉
and I saw this store that looked exactly like The Pink store by Victoria’s Secret
Clothes for dogs! how cute! 🙂
I think Daddy misses Japan, he asked Nana our tour guide to take him to electronics shopping
While Dad was there, we went to COEX Mall which is an underground mall. This was good for us because it’s so cold outside that mall shopping is much better! We only had 30 minutes though so we did not get to see and shop much
There is an aquarium and a megabit theater which we were not able to see. My friend Steve says the Aquarium is not that great though
many facial masks all over!!!! You will go crazy!! Especially during winter when you need all the moisture that you can, you want to buy all of these!! 🙂
Myeong dong is very near our hotel – a very crowded street, mostly young people shopping here. The shopping carts in the street come out mostly at night. Many street food carts as well
Love all the local korean brands for make up and skin care!!
Banana Republic? 🙂
Winter accessories!!!
