This is proof!!! that when you GIVE you will RECEIVE !! ( you will never be poor – materially & spiritually) Just a month ago as part of decluttering I gave away some shoes and yesterday I received 7 pairs of shoes from my fairy godmother Tita. I am so lucky i have many fairy godmothers 🙂 Ofcourse the true spirit of giving is unconditional and without expecting anything in return – so receiving is a bonus – a blessing from God #h2hgiving #h2hquotes#h2hhouseholdtips #h2hreligious
Despedida today in the office for Penn Villanueva or known as PBV. When you are given a despedida that means you were/are loved. Penn has been with our family for 36 years starting from the supermarket days and she followed my mom wherever she went. I realized today that She has handled so many departments because we assigned her when we needed someone to fill a position and she could do any task. From the supermarket, to the dept store, to flower shop, to Golden Spoon, to Pancake House. That’s how good she is. She will now be working from home and will be teaching English online to kids from China or from anywhere in the world. Wow! As they said she fits a teacher very well because she is very strict 🙂 Aside from all that she sings very well too – listen #h2hpeople

Super fun dinner at my brother’s home – M. Jun Jun & Margs & the kiddos. It’s nice because we don’t really get to talk when it’s the whole family. Margs cooked a yummy dinner – lamb chops my favorite, vongole & fried chicken. I asked Margs what dessert she wanted me to bring – so we brought wine #h2hfamily

TALLERES DE MAXIMO VICENTE Obras de Esculturas * Carpenteria * Plateria y Marmoleria *Establecido 1908*
Hailed as being the master sculptor of religious imagery, Maximo Vicente, Sr. was also the most successful commercial santero of all time.
He set up a shop called Talleres de Maximo Vicente at Calle R. Hidalgo in Quiapo, Manila in 1908 but later moved to M. Adriatico Street in Ermita.
This April, Rustan’s presents a special exhibition of the religious imagery collection of the renowned Santero.Visit Rustan’s Makati 5th floor to view the extraordinary creations of the Talleres De Maximo Vicente that rival the best artisans of Europe.
To this day, owning a Maximo Vicente image is an honor bequeathed to those of strong faith and fine taste. The talleres was known to produce images that could rival those made by the best artisans of Europe – fine, meticulous, one-of-a-kind. Every piece of work that came out from this shop was perfect in artistry and workmanship. It took anywhere from 3 to 12 months to complete a commissioned image. It was this superior craftsmanship and his deep faith that made the creations of Maximo Vicente’s hands unparalleled.
Maximo Vicente, Sr. was born in Malabon to Antonina Vicente and a Spaniard named Guardamonte. He graduated from UP School of Fine Arts in 1909. He was married to Crispina Laxamana and together they had 11 children. It was Maximo, Jr. and his wife Soledad Hernandez-Vicente who carried on his father’s legacy at the talleres.

The Santo Nino de Praga of San Beda College in Mendiola and San Beda College Alabang, the statues of the main and side altars of our Lady of Mount Carmel on Broadway Avenue, the crucified Christ in Trece Martires, Virgen Milagrosa, San Vicente de Paul, Sta. Luisa in San Marcelino Church, Nuestra Senora de Candelaria in Iloilo, the statues found at the Assumption Convent in San Lorenzo Village and the Alfonso de Liguori Church in Magallanes and so many more are all Talleres de Maximo Vicente handiworks.
