The Furla Spring Summer 2011 collection is a study in contrasts. Clear forms, essential lines and an extreme attention to function and proportions are typical of the Furla tradition. These are beautifully combined with materials and chromatic contrasts that evoke lush vegetation. The collection features a festival of bright colors borrowed from a tropical garden; from avocado to acai berries, from passion fruit to mango, contrasting with neutral desert and savannah tones that range from coconut white to various shades of brown.
A triumph of nature that represents our vision of the exotic, fantasy realm. New materials, such as carved or braided calfskin, wrinkled or crocodile printed leather, with a precious and sophisticated look, offer rich textures that highlight the rigorous and essential lines and forms of the bags. In addition, there are bags and shoes constructed from rubber. These new and futuristic versions use modern technologies and are proposed in transparent, solid colors as well as lively multi-color versions.
FURLA PRESENTS THE CANDY BAG SPRING SUMMER 2011
A stylistic contrast between contemporary of forms, cutting-edge materials and bright colors is the basis for the “Candy Bag” collection launched by Furla for the spring-summer 2011. A little trunk in a special type of PVC, soft but highly resistant, born of a specific production process that combines revolutionary and advanced technology offered by the use of an innovative injection mould for the production of the bag’s components, and traditional hand-stitching used during assembly.
A lovely metal lock, which can be either charm or keychain, decorates the zipper closure of the bag.
The brilliant colors of tropical flora, like green, fuchsia, orange, blue, and yellow, together with the shining transparency characteristic of PVC, make the Candy bag a must-have for its fantasy, proportions, and functionality.
SPRING SUMMER 2011 FOOTWEAR COLLECTIONCONTEMPORARY GLAMOUR
This collection is an exercise in understatement combining gracefully sophisticated shapes with quirky detailing and applications like flamboyant bows, flower-shaped tassels or take-it-easy knots.
The novel use of colored rubber soles softens the sharp elegance of the shoes to give them a more contemporary feel and a unique identity all of their own.
The original materials with bags of character, like colored reptile-print leather, glitter fabric and extra-bright rubber, make this a fun collection of uber-glam appeal.
The classic uptown sandals have an especially girly attraction thanks to the fine satin and micromesh used which are as floaty and gossamer-like as voile, to create an overall appeal that will charm for its understated elegance.
In the Philippines, Furla is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Greenbelt 5, Rustan’s Makati, and Shangri-La Plaza Mall.

I will share photos later on but better for you to go and visit and experience 🙂

LeSportsac Joyrich Collection
Known for its collaborations with names like Gwen Stefani, Stella McCartney, and Lilly Pulitzer, LeSportsac gears up for its Spring 2011 season with the brand’s latest collaborative partner, JOYRICH.
The Los Angeles design house, a stand-out brand in the contemporary streetwear market, interprets its vision of high-end yet accessible apparel, in this new collection with LeSportsac. The concept for the collaboration is a fusion of LeSportsac’s accessibility and universality with JOYRICH’s edgy and colorful sensibility that is high-end in appearance and contains a playful 90’s take on luxury brands.
The collection is available in 16 classic LeSportsac styles that have been given the JOYRICH treatment. All styles include JOYRICH’s signature gold triangle and to give the bags a more luxe feel all hardware and zipper pulls will also be in gold. LeSportsac’s iconic weekenders, Classic Hobo, Erika Tote, a bookbag, and a couple of cosmetics are just some of the styles included in the collection. The Pixie has been given a gold chain strap twinned with LeSportsac’s iconic grosgrain and the Heart Pouch have been given a removable crossbody chain mirroring the Pixie’s.
The JOYRICH Paula and Trislet will also include gold chain substitutions. The collaboration also reintroduces the Leigh duffle bag that functions as a tote or an extra roomy handbag. Laptop sleeves also make a re-appearance with added straps for more functionality. To add to all the gold and to enhance the fun of the collection, select styles will include an exclusive gold JOYRICH charm — a special gift with purchase that can be clipped to a belt loop, key-ring or just about anything.
JOYRICH also created three prints for the collection in custom fabrications. Chain is sateen that is inspired by the various gold elements of 90/80’s fashion—a fun and playful take on an oversized gold chain.
Numbered, a coated nylon, is inspired by luxury brands—a JOYRICH interpretation of classic monogram prints done a lighthearted ironic way. Another coated nylon, Leopard reflects JOYRICH’s love for animal prints and is a reflection of one of the brand’s best-selling prints.
The hot pink glitter element of print was done exclusively for LeSportsac. Shiny Quilted takes LeSportsac’s bestselling black patent and gives it a JOYRICH luxury feel with its chic quilting—a first for LeSportsac.
JOYRICH has created three new prints to run alongside the recurring Shiny Quilted, the quilted JOYRICH take on the classic LeSportsac black patent. The brand sticks to the stapleLeSportsac material of rip-stop nylon with the Union Jack print, a very direct reflection of the trend of the Union Jack in fashion. The print comes in two to-scale sizes, its bigger version meant to be carried on the bigger bags, and its smaller version on the smaller accessories. Similarly, Wonder Rose comes also in Wonder Rose Big. It is of cotton canvas material and showcases a crowd of roses against a white background. Jungle Cat remodels the standard animal print, a fundamental love of JOYRICH, as a mélange of various prints in a contemporary patchwork style.
LeSportsac teams up with Jeremyville for Spring Summer 2011
This Spring Summer 2011 LeSportsac welcomes everyone into the world of Jeremyville, the brand’s new Artist in Residence Jeremyville, artist and product designer, splits his time between 2 very contrasting studios: his chilled BondiBeach studio in Sydney by the ocean, and his frantic studio in the Lower East Side of Downtown New York. The theme in this range that he created for LeSportsac is called ‘Inspirations’, and is based on the many sketches drawn in the neighborhood cafes of his 2 studios, and the imaginary landscapes made real by his pen. Traveling the world with his sketchbook, pen, and laptop in his backpack, Jeremyville’s studio is anywhere he opens up a blank page and starts drawing, and the 3 themes of this range reflect the spontaneity and inspiration he gets from the neighborhoods he is in:
BondiBeach Sketchbook
This theme is based on the scenes from his neighborhood in BondiBeach, where he grew up as a kid, and now has his studio: The skate park outside his window on Campbell Parade, the cafes he hangs out at on Hall Street, drawing, thinking and sketching, and the great surf of BondiBeach. The beach at Bondi has always been a strong inspiration for Jeremyville, and his days are spent running along the sand or swimming in the ocean pool, then drawing these experiences back at the studio, or while having a coffeewith his creative partner Megan at the Icebergs Pool by the ocean’s edge, while the surf crashes 5 metres away.
Jeremyville NYC
Jeremyville’s favorite place on earth, New York City. Based on his drawings of each distinct neighborhood, and his iconic aerial views he imagines as he walks down the avenues of Manhattan, with his sketchbook in his ever-present shoulder bag. The frenetic energy of the Lower East Side is a particular inspiration, his studio is there, just off Rivington Street, and the noise and inspiration coming from the sidewalks feeds Jeremyville’s street art, fine art and toy design.
TomorrowForest
An imaginary, surreal world from the sketchbooks of Jeremyville, populated with strange furry creatures, enigmatic birdpeople, and lots of smiling mushroom creatures, with a faraway look in their eyes. The mascot of the theme ‘Inspirations’is the Magic Bunny, the furry muse of Jeremyville for this range he created for LeSportsac. The Magic Bunny followed him everywhere during this project, whispered occasionally into his ear, and guided Jeremyville with his drawings. You can find the Magic Bunny on a special shaped bag created for this range.
All three prints are available in all ten original Artist in Residence styles. The collection will also include two exclusive styles made especially for the Jeremyville collection: the Bunny Tote (a whimsical take on the brand’s zip top shopper featuring a screen printed face of Jeremyville’s iconic bunny with actual nylon bunny ears that flop over the screen print) and small bunny Pouch that mirrors its bigger tote cousin.
Founded in 1974, the company maintains a strong presence around the globe, offering a fashion forward line of handbags, travel totes, messenger bags, backpacks and accessories. The lightweight fabric combined with high-performance hardware characterizes its iconic, functional styles available in a wide variety of colors and prints. A leader in the accessories market, LeSportsac continues to offer fresh, innovative new

I realized I forgot to feature our last meal in Vancouver! I thought it was Miku but then I remembered we went to White Spot before our flight! White Spot was recommended by almost everyone we asked…but since we had little time in Vancouver, Dad and Mom did not really prioritize this. So as soon as we dropped them off in the airport, James and I went straight to a White Spot nearest the airport! haha!!
We had a later flight so I asked James to take me here. They were only serving breakfast but it was a good thing they were kind enough to serve us the burger we wanted to order!
Tita Regina said that the burger with the triple O sauce was good, so I looked for it in the menu
Double Double Our biggest burger. A 1/2 lb. beef burger made with double 100% beef patties, double cheese, lettuce, tomato, Triple “O” sauce & double dills.
And the waiter recommended we add bacon, so we did! Since it was breakfast, they did not have french fries so they served us hashbrowns
IT WAS SO YUMMY!!!!
Here’s a closer look at the burger!!! YUM!!!
I wish we could have tried other dishes and other burgers!! NEXT TIME!!
The Style Icon Alexa Chung becomes the Face of Superga for their Centennial Anniversary
Alexa Chung, British model and TV personality, elected “Style Icon 2010” at the latest Fashion Awards and already defined by fashion magazines as the “best-dressed woman 2009 and 2010”, will team up with the Basic Group becoming the new face for Superga. To celebrate Superga’s centennial year anniversary, Alexa has chosen to wear, as icon of her everyday wardrobe, the historical 2750, a must-have for all those to whom style is a daily choice.
It is no coincidence that also in the United Kingdom, the iconic sneaker is selling like hot cakes in cult stores, such as ASOS, Flannels and Oi Polloi, as well as on the famous fashion website my-wardrobe.com.
Superga was born in 1911, when Walter Martiny established a public limited company, which in 1925 began producing canvas shoes with vulcanized rubber soles, the iconic 2750s. The brand joined the Group in 2004.
Already a fan of the Italian brand, Alexa posed for an exclusive shoot featuring the iconic 2750. And, to capture the brand’s essence and character, she added her personal touch to the shoot with her styling and by playing with a look that perfectly matches simplicity and style.
Alexa’s decision to start this partnership on occasion of the centennial anniversary of Superga is a positive novelty factor to Superga. She is one of the most influential style icons of our time and a huge Superga fan. Her effortless style and personality suit the brand and the collection that she is going to wear in a very natural way.
Superga Q1Q2 2011
The Superga Q1Q2 2011 Collection has been developed by BasicSamples, the Style Research & Development Department of BasicNet S.p.A., the Turin-based company owner of the historic brand, which since 1925 has been producing the Superga 2750: the first canvas shoe with vulcanised sole.
BasicNet has consolidated the brand, whose name and tradition were associated worldwide to the Italian shoes, thus enabling Superga to take on the role of “People’s shoes of Italy” in the field of informal shoes.
For Q1Q2 2011 Superga presents a complete Men’s, Women’s, Unisex and Kid’s collection.
The new seasonal proposals of the 2750 highlight the great attention paid to the search for new materials, fabrics and colours, both for classic and brand new models: beside the 51 plain-coloured versions, the new models feature cotton with shaded effect, stone washed cotton, studs and crystals, pure Italian linen (plain and patterned) and shirt fabrics in many different Oxford patterns.
As for the Vulcanised line, evolution of the historic Superga shoes, the focus is on a more aggressive women’s version in different fabrics and models featuring a 100 or 60 heel, as well as the multi-coloured ballerina shoes, the 2750 Plus with removable insole and the new 2750 with lower foxing, realized in many different fabrics including (plain and patterned) Italian linen.
The collection also features a broader range of moccasins, the new edition of the Superga volleyball model of the Seventies and, for the most fashionable women, high and low sandals and clogs and many different versions, rope-wedge shoes, fashionable ballerina and décolleté shoes as well as many other summer suggestions.
In the Philippines, Superga is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. (SSI) and is located at Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Tower, Rustan’s Alabang, Eastwood Mall, and Greenbelt 5.
