Banana Republic Spring Summer 2011

By | Fashion, Summer, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

Travel. Discover. Explore. This forward moving energy informs the spring and summer collections as endless versatility, effortless shapes and tactile finishes lend a palpable air of discovery to each piece. With a focus on adaptability and uncomplicated ease—key Banana Republic signatures—all make fitting additions to a modern wayfarer’s valise.

A survey of the season’s new neutrals starts with a range of airy whites. Evolving like light and shadow at midday, the subdued gradient sweeps from warm ivory to cool ecru, and on into a handful of quiet prints. Silhouettes are equally as relaxed: dropwaist dresses, breezy maxi skirts and liquid like sheaths form her indispensible wardrobe while drawstring linen pants, washed leather blazers, and tailored knits round out his.

The subtle washes of color crest and break into a series of oceanic hues from watery blue to slate grays, where authentic textures pervade. Slub cotton leggings are topped off with a denim military blazer and boxy parachute blouses fit with trim tulip skirts, creating a clever sense of whimsy. Menswear echoes this lighthearted exchange as chambray oxfords loosen up patch?pocket safari jackets while streamlined exteriors in salty gray hues add polish to heather sweatshirts.

Utilitarian classics—each as easy to wear as it is to build upon—provide the perfect foundation for a leisurely tour through summer’s lush rainforest prints and exotic patterns. Fresh combinations of texture and proportion are explored with a sense of romantic wanderlust: a batik midi skirt warms up a short trench dress, cargo pants become sophisticated when rendered in liquid like tencel, while floral blooms put a distinctly feminine spin on tailored safari jackets. And with a wedge heel and sculptural straps, the neutral Belmont heel is well suited for any excursion.

Likewise, his adventurous separates—such as the slim cargo pant, patch?pocket shirts, walking shorts and suede Clarks desert boots—make transitions easy to navigate. A palette of muted spice tones acts as the harmonious underpinning to the contemporary Continental essentials including madras shirting, inviting Henley knits and heritage army jackets in cool khaki or olive drab—even a witty flash of paisley.

The journey continues through floribunda territory as graceful bloom-covered dresses, ranging from dainty hand-drawn florals to exuberant watercolors, add the final punctuation to a season of artful statements. Distinctive embellishments culled along the way—market scarves, supple leather totes, burnished pendants, wood bead clutches and soft-brim hats—recall the treasured mementos from a traveler’s diary.

We ate in Tsumura for dinner, have not been here in a long time. Apparently, It is owned by the same owner of Kuretake in Powerplant Mall, Rockwell. Which is why the food seems almost the same… and it’s good 🙂

Jessica’s Mystical Spring Garden

By | Fashion, What's New at Rustan's | No Comments

The Jessica woman embarks on a sacred journey to re-embrace her inner purity and innocent beauty. Set against a beautiful English garden with a modern bohemian twist, the Jessica woman is temporarily freed from her hectic urban life and escapes into her dream-like fantasyland.

The Spring/Summer 2011 collection is romantic and feminine, incorporating free-flowing dresses and lightweight signature fabrics such as laces and silks that are uniquely designed for the Jessica brand. Delicate details such as tassels, 3D appliqué and ruffles add to the ethereal appeal of the collection. Comprising of both soft and strong elements, this season’s collection continues to celebrate the feminine forms of the present-day woman.

jessicas01.jpgjessicas09.jpgjessicas010.jpgjessicas012.jpg

The season’s color palette is light and refreshing, featuring spring and summer staples such as cream, light beige and khaki. A variety of soft pastels like salmon, rose pink, pastel yellow, and watercolors such as aqua, different tones of blue and light denim blue are included to compliment the sensual aspect of the Jessica woman.

As we progress along the season, white is contrasted with burnt orange, fuchsia and gold are perfect compliments to the hot summer sun.

Layering garments of different and textures is one of the key trends of the season. The pairing of an all-white lace maxi dress with a fancy dotted jacquard trench dress coat is great for playing with textures and depths in the early spring season. The special lime green hue is an important directional color in spring trenches, 3D floral appliqué on the garden print dress, or simple chiffon pleated long skirts.

jessicas07.jpg

Fluidity is key for the bohemian lifestyle. The feel of silk suggests delicacy and ease of movement; while eco-friendly fabrics such as rayon-linen provides versatility and comfort. Other choices include silk twill, cotton silk ottoman, silk chiffon and silk organza satin and various types of lace to ensure sheerness, transparency and softness.

Designers have introduced a collection of unique and beautifully crafted lace to reflect the. romantic bohemian garden theme. The beautiful artisan details are showcased on various lace dresses throughout the season: an example would be the off-white colored abstract daisy print lace tunic with piping and scalloped sleeves. For something more tailored, the tie-belted aqua blue silk linen tube dress with a cascading ruffled front demonstrates structured elegance. Intricate embroideries, appliqué, ties, digital-printed sequins, mixed-medium beading are sure to capture attention. The atelier-inspired salmon sequined and embroidered patchwork belted dress in linen and lurex jacquard is the epitome of the top-notch workmanship.

 jessicas06.jpgjessicas08.jpg

A series of silk jersey Grecian drape dresses are highlighted. Featuring a lower-than-average waistline, these goddess-like dresses elongate the feminine silhouette and create a more graceful and sensual body contour. The flattering light gold poly drape A-line dress with sequined colossal pattern is also an easy-to-carry piece inspired by elements of nature – water, sand and earth.

jessicas04.jpgjessicas013.jpg

A handful of prints are showcased as well. The garden print rayon-linen belted dress with lime green-colored floral appliqué is reminiscent of a lovely English garden while the mother earth-inspired orange dress with the beaded trees-and-flowers print pays homage to the Bohemian style.

jessicas05.jpgjessicas03.jpg

The bright pink and orange geometric diamond-print lace tunic dress demonstrates a new genre of ethnic patterned lace. With the fringe and beaded details on the shoulders, this dress is both hip and cocktail-perfect. The light denim butterfly cut-out A-line dress is a chic number that can be easily integrated into the Jessica woman’s everyday life while the light and sheer dresses bring joy and comfort to its wearers.
