Rainbow

Around 10 years ago, Mommy Carmeling and I bought a Rainbow vacuum cleaner

It was half the price back then and Mom and I split the cost and shared it 🙂 And after ten years, our Rainbow is still very much alive and working and in good condition.

The Rainbow resembles the Star Wars robot R2D2 and it follows you around the house while cleaning 🙂

I received a Christmas letter and gift certificate from Rainbow and I was happy to accept a visit to check my Rainbow and have my staff retrained on how to use it. What a nice way to start the year with everything new and clean!

I immediately called them when the new year started and was happy to see the salesman who sold it to me, Chito! They just did not send any salesman, they sent Chito who I did not recognize as he lost a lot of weight from ten years ago. Chito has been selling Rainbow vacuums for 25 years ( since it started in the Philippines ) and has sold around 10,000 units already. WOW!

He sat and started showing me everything again. I realized that I have taken my Rainbow for granted and just left it and assumed that the household help have been using it to clean the house.

The vacuum uses water and he will show you how clear water

becomes hazy and you will see all the dust that comes from your house- the floor, curtains, mattress, pillows etc. This photo was the first vacuuming we did for the floor in ten seconds only

Vacuumed the pillow for around 10 seconds just to demonstrate to my household staff

And already plenty dust. Though the pillows are regularly rainbowed according to my staff, Adet

The most dust was from the curtains. This was just one side of the curtains. If that is not vacuumed, then that goes to the air and we breath it

There are different brushes for different uses.

There are companies that offer their services to clean your mattresses for dust mites- they just use a rainbow. Here are the dustmites in your mattresses, pillows, sofas, YIKES! 🙂

Why not have your own Rainbow and just do it yourself? Once every three months will be good enough.

I am now going to regularly check on the staff and make sure they Rainbow the house regularly and properly.

For those that do not own one yet, It’s about time you have a Rainbow. Heart2Heart highly recommends the Rainbow Vaccum. Ten years ago, I was pregnant when Chito came over and right there and then I bought one because I wanted my house to be clean for all of us especially my new baby at that time. I have friends who have Rainbows too and are very happy. One of my friends has two and keeps one per floor and makes sure they Rainbow her house everyday instead of using a broom.

Lils’ 40th Birthday

Happy Birthday to again another of my good, good and beautiful friends, Lils!! Lils is the cousin of Jeanne ( Jeanne’s 40th birthday December 13, 2009 ) which explains why she is also blooming and getting prettier every year 🙂 Another 40 year old in the batch.

We have been schoolmates since gradeschool and then groupmates since highschool and 20 plus years after we are still groupmates. I love and enjoy her because I can be myself with her, she is very open and very comfortable talking about anything and anything straight and direct to the point and it is funny how direct and open she can be about the realities in life……..and that is what friendship is all about

We celebrated in one of their favorite restaurants, Je Suis Gourmand, and had a great time with the gang though we missed Yvonne and Pael

Watamin-Chi

Even New Year’s Eve is difficult to find a restaurant for dinner. Either they are fully booked or closed for dinner. So we ended up again somewhere near the hotel. We always pass this restaurant but never eat there. Finally we did and it was quite good! Fusion Japanese food and at very reasonable prices. I was not able to get the menu so I will just describe the dishes in my own words 🙂

They had crispy cheese crackers – similar to the parmesan crisps! So of course we ordered this

Salmon Aburi which was also popular

Chicken Wings

Fresh sliced tomato

Spring roll with pork and cheese

Spaghetti Bolognese with soba noodles and egg on top – interesting 🙂

Deep fried pasta noodles with seaweed- unique pica pica

Mussels which you grill yourself in a cute small griller

This was like bacon with cheese inside – YUMMY!

Golden Spoon, Tokyo

Of course, the Golden Spoon loving family had to stop by Golden Spoon Tokyo even if it was freezing 🙂 This was in Roppongi. Japan is the first International store followed by the Philippines.

Zed by Cirque Du Soleil

For New Year’s Day, Dad and Mom took us to watch ZED. Mom heard from Tita Maricris that they were watching, so she got the idea from them and followed 🙂 We saw Rombit and Maja with their kids as well. The theater is located near Disneyland so it fits in very well.

This is the only photo I was able to take- as soon as I shot this, a clown approached me and told me that it was not allowed. HOW FAST! 🙂

The best part for me was the beginning when those drapes all go inside! Watch it here

Mos Burger

Mostly all restaurants are closed in Tokyo on New Year’s Day. It’s a good thing Mom found a Mos burger near the hotel that was opened!! Mos burger is what Sango (Sango at Power Plant Mall November 13, 2009 ) is in the Philippines. We normally order the yakiniku burger,

but this time, I tried their burger which is the master burger in Sango.

Heart2Heart has to admit that the Sango Master Cheeseburger is even more YUMMY than the Mos one.

But anyway, the family enjoyed spending New Year’s at Mos burger

Japanese Fresh Strawberries

Heart2Heart loves strawberries!!! The Japanese make them so perfectly – they are so clean and shaped perfectly that sometimes you wonder if they are really fresh 🙂 Mom insists that there is a big difference in taste as the price goes higher 🙂 unlike buying the musk melon. Hmmm….
