Everytime I am with Rina and Tats, Gabby is always our constant companion. He is so adorable! He is a very well behaved little boy and always smiles for my camera. What is more amazing is Gabby’s Mom, Tats! She is a full time Mom to Gabby both in London where they live and in Manila when they come to visit. She is a pro and she is so natural in handling her son in public places….I just watch her the whole time….and aside from that she even manages to continue chatting with us. AMAZING!
Tats says:
“My baby does not have the luxury of a full-time yaya. We live in London, where nannies make more than most Filipinos in multinationals.
Hence, my baby is my constant companion. We spend every moment together, and my pushchair is my main form of transport.”
Tats showed me her baby stuff and was updating me as I have not bought any baby stuff for 9 years.
She was telling us how she found Skip Hop bags in Rustan’s at much lower prices than in London so she bought a lot! 🙂
Apparently, Tats writes for the Inquirer once in awhile and shares her motherhood experiences. So for new mothers out there or soon to be mothers, you might want to watch out for her column. This is her latest article:
At the end of our afternoon, Gabby managed to change his shirt as Mommy was prepared for a slight accident 🙂 and he still manages to smile
and then falls quietly asleep on Mommy’s shoulder

My friend, Des, makes one of the best BBQs in town. Look at the sauce!! I am sure many of you see her in the Salcedo Market. I also love her Chicken Ala King! I always tease her that we want to eat in her house and we want her to cook for us!! 🙂 I will wait for that day!

KOREA’S TRENDIEST BEAUTY LAB INVADES MANILA!
One of Korea’s fastest growing salon, Park Jun’s Beauty Lab finally finds its way to fashionable Manila! And bringing with it the homegrown expertise of Korean hairdressing, Park Jun’s Beauty Lab aims to create new looks and styles for people to express their individuality.
It all started in1972 when Mr. Park Jun began to take interest in the beauty industry.
He pursued a hairdressing course in Korea and joined numerous contests to harness his forte. Finally in 1981, he opened his first salon “Park Jun Beauty Town”, and through his participation in elite hair shows in countries such as Moscow, Beijing, London and Canada, his salon’s fame grew. By 1999, Park Jun already had more than 200 salons in Korea and overseas.
Today, Park Jun’s Beauty Lab brings the latest trends and hairdressing techniques to the Philippines through the skills of its Artistic Director, Kino Lee; Creative Director Maiya Noh; Style Director, Jinny Kim; and our very own Filipino stylist, Aldous Ong.
This 2009 “women’s hair trends will play to the extreme” shares Maiya Noh. “We will see more of the bob, bangs and fringe hairstyles in different lengths and volume.” Jinny Kim also introduces Park Jun’s Beauty Lab’s unique services such as Volume Rebonding, which not only straightens out the hair but gives it volume, and Volume Magic Wave that creates perfect and more natural looking curls. Stylist Al Ong also stresses this season’s highlight on the curls which is also one of the salon’s specialties through Perming. Finally, Kino Lee offers Korea’s edgy hair styles for the stylish Filipino men, “Men can try a decorous or asymmetric cut if they have a natural wave. Something like a twist of the classic school boy cut with a bit of rocker-edge.”
Kino took care of me last week and he is really good! He was very concerned about my hair and he taught me how to care for my hair. They had gadgets which I never saw in any salon in our country – instead of the normal steamer they put when you have a hot oil, they have this machine that they put directly on your head and the temperature is just right
With the combination of style and artistic skill, Park Jun’s Beauty Lab invites everyone to come and visit and to try out a new fashionable look.
Park Jun’s Beauty Lab is located at the G/F Glorietta 3, Ayala Center Makati City. In between Hard Rock Cafe and Gloria Jeans. 819-3001 to 02. To know more about them visit www.parkjun.com.
