My Lola’s Makopa tree

By | Yummy! | One Comment

Today, I had one of my favorite fruits for lunch. MAKOPA!   I like makopa or “tambis” because:

1.)  It reminds me of my Lolo Eddie and Lola Charing and the time when we used to live with them.  I remember that tree being there for as long as I have known them and I have been eating it since then

2.)    It’s so yummy!  I have my yaya cut it into pieces, put it in the refrigerator, then I eat it alone or with rock salt

3.)  It is color pink 🙂

Up to this day, everytime I visit my Lola and I see the makopas on the driveway, that means it is makopa season!!!  My lola always gives me…… and when she forgets, I make sure I ask from her so I can take home some FRESH from her tree:-)

Johnson’s Baby Cologne

By | Finds, What's New at Rustan's | 6 Comments

I remember when i used to study and live in Spain, we would go crazy over all the Spanish colognes they had there and it came in really gigantic bottles.  Johnson’s also had a Spanish version of the baby colognes and that was the most popular.  Though there are many other good ones like De Ne Nes, Para Mi Bebe, S3, Fa and many more.

Johnson’s came up with local versions several years back and they are now available in many scents. They only come in one size of 125 ml compared to the 500 ml and 750 ml in Spain.  So when I buy I buy 5 to 6 at a time!

I have a personal preference among the scents and it is called Tropical burst.  I think that it is the most saleable among all too because it is always the one that runs out the fastest in the shelf.

Hurry buy it now while it is 5 times the points at Rustan’s!!

CYMA, Boracay

By | Foodie, Travel | One Comment

Thanks to Gerard, Tessa, Gary, Alexie, Kirby and Mara for inviting us for dinner.  This is our first time to eat in Cyma in Boracay.  We actually got to try the Shangri-la Plaza Mall branch first and we really liked it.

Don’t leave Boracay without eating here!  Last November we were able to have it as part of the buffet from Jigger and May’s dinner.  It was also very good!!

I ordered the Saganaki!  I like to hear them shout Opa!  🙂 and of course I like the CHEESE!!! In Manila, the kids like it too and they call the dish Opa ( not Saganaki)! Here in Boracay, the guy serving it is muscular 🙂 and fits the part so well….

Make sure to put the lemon

It is a popular dish because during dinner we heard it about 6 times and I would get “gulat” everytime 🙂 dsc_5151.JPG
