Since day 1 we have been wanting to try Pedro’s House of Lamb @pedroshouseoflamb But worried where we will be eating the lamb since its for take out only. Since today was our last day in Queenstown we made sure we tried it so we went for merienda!
They only have one item on the menu – lamb shoulder.
It comes in a disposable foil.
When we got there we saw they had one wooden table at the side by the road with mountains in the backdrop! Perfect! 🙂 Yum!! It was worth it! #pedroshouseoflamb #lambshoulder #lamb #queenstown #queenstownnz #H2HNewZealand2016 #newzealand
So happy to meet Damien, the nephew of Pedro of Pedro’s House of Lamb @pedroshouseoflamb He runs and owns the Queenstown branch while Uncle Pedro owns the one in Christchurch. Damien is from San Sebastián Spain. We recommend Pedro’s House of Lamb for lamb shoulder. Damien says they prefer the Low land lambs since they are more tender compared to the Highland Merino which is perceived as higher quality but more for wool than as a meat for eating. The lamb comes with plenty sauce and potatoes. Yum

After Walter Peak we drove to Arrowtown. It’s around 30 minutes away from Queenstown. I loved the drive going there. I wish I was able to capture all the beautiful scenery but we were driving a bit fast so it was difficult so I’m glad I was able to capture a few.
A “Man cave” where unlike other men, this guy collects windmills and carriages and displays them in his farm. Very interesting ?

( http://www.newzealand.com) One of the most picturesque settlements in New Zealand, Arrowtown sits alongside the gold-bearing Arrow River. The town was established in 1862, during the height of the Otago gold rush. The settlement grew quickly as pioneers constructed cottages, shops, hotels and churches, more than 60 of which can still be seen today.
A special highlight is the Chinese settlement at the edge of the river. Built by Chinese miners from 1868, this area of restored shelters and buildings paints a picture of earlier times.
The Lakes District Museum in Buckingham Street has been described as one of New Zealand’s best small museums. A variety of entertaining exhibits presents an authentic picture of early Maori life in the Southern Lakes district, the harsh pioneering days and the exciting gold rush era of the mid to late 1800s.
The gold days are long over (although you can still pan for gold in the river with some success), so Arrowtown’s focus is on hosting visitors. Play a round at the challenging local golf course or take a 4WD journey to Macetown, a ghost town accessible only by wagon track.
Arrowtown has a range of cafes, restaurants and appealing shops. #arrowtown #arrowtownnz #newzealand #H2HNewZealand2016
On the way back to Queenstown, We passed by Mount Aspiring National Park
Love ferns!!

And we stopped by the Kawarau Bridge Bungy Centre
This is where the Bungy craze all started in 1988. The Kawarau Bridge Bungy Centre is the World Home of Bungy, situated along the picturesque Kawarau River, about a 30min drive out of Queenstown, NZ (http://www.queenstownnz.co.nz/)

Walter Peak Farm – At its peak, the station was one of New Zealand’s most famous with 170,000 acres, 40,000 sheep and up to 50 fulltime employees. The original homestead block of Walter Peak Station is now known as Walter Peak High Country Farm. Over time various permanent homes were established and these included the Colonel’s Homestead with its beautiful lakeside gardens. ( http://www.guestnewzealand.com)
There are 28 breeds of sheep in New Zealand. Perendale sheep at Walter Peak Farm. This is a Meat breed and used for carpet and textiles. It’s a lower kind than Merino which is the highest quality used for clothing. Merino costs 5 times that of the Perendale. In the farm each shearer can shear 350 sheep a day in an 8 hour work day. This is the first time this sheep is sheared and will be sheared again after 6 months
Those antlers were so heavy I couldn’t carry them
