I love meeting and talking to artists.
I met Sam Penaso A GSIS 2013 Mixed media 1st Prize winner and a AAP Sculpture 1st prize winner. He started painting then did mixed media then sculpture and then performance art. So he does many kinds of art. He was also a 2013 ACCP grantee where he was an art residency for 6 months in NYC  Sam will have Standing sculptures at  ART IN THE PARKÂ
So happy to meet Artist Pancho Francisco who I later on found out is the brother of Malu @malufrancisco and Tody! @marimelfrancisco Pancho was a trader and book publisher till Art changed his life! 3 years ago he did Book art as a hobby, After one work there has been a non stop demand for his work! It’s my first time to learn about book art and it’s amazing! He uses books and chooses pages with illustrations and cuts them til it becomes an artwork when you close the book. The one in the photo ( bottom right) was made using a book that he published, Without Walls which has 600 pages. He has been doing this for 3 years!
This coming Art in the Park @artintheparkph He will be selling only 3 works! It will be a different kind of art – Collage on glass plate. Similar to book art but he uses glass to separate each layer. This work he’s showing is 11 layers. Amazing!! Make sure to look for Pancho’s collage at Art in the Park. More power Pancho!

Art in the Park had its beginnings in 2006 – twelve art galleries housed in a handful of tents in the sprawl of Jaime Velasquez Park. Today, it comprises sixty art galleries, collectives, and student groups, with an ever-lengthening waiting list of applicants keen to join the country’s first and foremost affordable art fair. Initially occupying only a section of the park, the fair has as well expanded into the adjacent parking lot to accommodate not only the increase in number of participants, but also the swelling number of visitors who yearly troop to the park for this eagerly awaited art event.
From its small beginnings, then, Art in the Park has steadily flourished, and will be marking its tenth anniversary this year. To celebrate this feat, Art in the Park will be reproducing signed limited edition prints from the ten artists whose striking artworks have adorned the fair’s postcard invitations over the years, beautiful collectibles in themselves. The list, which reads like a veritable Who’s Who of some of the art world’s most prominent artists, includes: Charlie Co, Joy Mallari, Jomike Tejido, Pete Jimenez, Rodel Tapaya, and Marina Cruz.
Additionally, there will be a special exhibit of wax sculptures by celebrated sculptor Daniel dela Cruz. His work, four feet tall, depict standing male figures, your everyday Joes, some holding metal umbrellas. These figures are intended to be set alight like slow-burning candles, to gradually melt away throughout the day.
As in years past, Art in the Park will be offering a wide-ranging selection of works, from paintings to photographs, sculpture to pottery, all at P40,000 or below. Surely, there will be a piece or two from the fair’s rich cache that will speak to art lovers and enthusiasts, whatever their taste or inclination, and that will be kind to their pockets as well. Visitors to fairs past also know to expect an assortment of delectable food and refreshing drinks, with the dozen or so concessionaires joined this year by 8 Cuts Burgers and Ñ y Patricia, headed by Noel dela Rama, a visiting chef from New York. With the soothing strains of jazz music from Soulful Mood during the day and the spirited playing of The Brat Pack in the evening, Art in the Park promises once again to be the casual, relaxed, and pleasurable event it was always meant to be.
Ten years ago, Art in the Park was conceived to present art in a casual, relaxed and approachable setting.
Ten years later, judging by the crowds of people in the thousands who have over the years flocked to the fair, the buzz of excitement so palpable in the air, it can certainly be said of Art in the Park: “mission accomplished.”
Art in the Park is a project of Philippine Art Events, Inc., and the Museum Foundation of the Philippines in support of the National Museum of the Philippines. It is sponsored by Barangay Bel-Air, Makati Commercial Estate Corporation (MACEA), Museum Foundation of the Philippines, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Alveo, and Globe Platinum.

At the SIHH 2016, Montblanc marks its 110th anniversary and the incredible era in which it was founded, introducing a number of unique new timepieces in its 4810 Collection. Built on this best-selling line that was first presented in 2006 for the Maison’s centennial celebrations, the new 4810 Collection respects all the codes of Montblanc’s watchmaking, with its strong, elegant and sporty design, offering a new sophisticated interpretation for the modern traveller who needs a performing timepiece to rely on.
Montblanc 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim
The new Montblanc ExoTourbillon Slim Collection combines the Maison’s patented ExoTourbillon complication with the addition of a quick stop-second function.
The ExoTourbillon outperforms standard tourbillon constructions for two reasons. Firstly, the weight of the cage of the ExoTourbillon is disconnected from the balance wheel, and secondly, the weight of the cage is minimal, thus resulting in higher precision and improved isochronism. The Montblanc 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim is fitted with a black alligator strap to accentuate the warmth of the red gold case and red gold details on the dial. The collection has been rigorously tested by the Montblanc Laboratory Test 500, simulating real-life wear for over 500 hours.
Montblanc 4810 ExoTourbillon Slim 110 Years Editions Europe, North America & Asia
The theme of travel across the Atlantic is beautifully highlighted in three Montblanc ExoTourbillon Slim Limited Editions with a miniature hand painting of a map of the North American, Asian and European Continent on the dial. Each of the 110 pieces is totally unique as no individual hand-painted map can ever be exactly the same as another. The lower section of the dial has been decorated with the Côtes de Genève motif to highlight the ExoTourbillon construction at 6 o’clock, and a single rhodium plated XII and rhodium plated skeletonized hands maximize the view of the map. A discreet minute track has been added to the exterior of the dial with a red “60” at 12 o’clock for ease of reading. A close look at the ExoTourbillon Slim 110 years Editions reveals a 42 mm white gold case with a number of subtle design details, including a thin bezel with satin finishing on the border and horns that, while straight from above, are slightly curved on the underside for maximum comfort on the wrist.
These limited editions features the Calibre MB 29.24—powered for the very first time by a micro-rotor decorated with a Côtes de Genève en Eventail pattern that reveals an undisturbed view on this patented manufacture movement beneath a large sapphire crystal on the back of the timepiece. Montblanc has chosen not to feature the crown setting quick stop-second indication on this model so as not to cover the hand-painted dial.
Montblanc 4810 TwinFly Chronograph 110Â Years EditionÂ
Highly functional manufacture complications are an integral part of Montblanc’s horological offering, as the new Montblanc 4810 TwinFly Chronograph 110 Years Edition illustrates so well. Thisflyback chronograph allows the wearer to time one event, and then stop, reset and restart the chronograph with just one press on the pusher at 4 o’clock.
This TwinFly function not only restarts the central chronograph seconds hand (in blue), but also the central minutes chronograph hand (in red gold), sending both hands back to zero and instantly restarting them for a new time measurement. Another pusher at 2 o’clock starts and stops the chronograph, while the pusher at 4 o’clock also returns the chronograph to 0 when it has previously been stopped.
Montblanc Collection Villeret Tourbillon Cylindrique Pocket Watch & Navigator 110 Years Edition – Unique Piece   Â
The one-of-a-kind Montblanc Collection Villeret Tourbillon Pocket Watch & Navigator 110 Years Edition combines a nautical clock with a pocket watch that can be placed in a dedicated compartment for display and safekeeping when not in use. The navigator structure measures 93 cm in height and is composed of a heavy 56 cm granite base for stable installation on the deck of a ship, while the case is made of nickel-plated brass and has a diameter of 64 cm. Weighing an impressive 120 kg, the navigator is designed to stand firm whether it is placed on the motionless floor of a library or on the pitching and rolling planks of the ship.
The nautical precision clock keeps its balance with a cardanic suspension system that sits inside anickel-plated brass cage. Even when the ship rolls to one side, the clock remains perfectly horizontal and runs precisely, thanks to a case mounted with eight ball bearings, indicating the ship’s heeling with a downward pointing arrow on a scale from 0 to 27 degrees, the perfect symbiosis of aesthetic form and nautical function.
The Montblanc Collection Villeret Tourbillon Cylindrique Navigator was developed in collaboration with the renowned Erwin Sattler clock manufacture, who made the base of the Navigator. It was completely reworked by the Montblanc Manufacture with respect to the movement, complications and finishings. The nautical clock itself has a diameter of 30.1 cm and a height of 9.5 cm and is equipped with a handwound movement that indicates the hours, minutes, seconds, time in 24 different time zones, and a 15-day power reserve.
Montblanc 4810 Orbis Terrarum
Following the success of the launch of the Montblanc Heritage Spirit Orbis Terrarum in 2015, Montblanc is now presenting this contemporary and highly appreciated worldtime function in its pioneering 4810 Collection. Named after the Latin Orbis Terrarum, which translates as “globe”, “earth” and “world”, this timepiece tells the time in 24 timezones in an intelligent and intuitive way, thanks to a manufacture complication developed in-house by Montblanc’s master watchmakers. The dial is constructed of multiple layers, starting with the main sapphire crystal disc that displays the continents as viewed from the North Pole and the names of the 24 cities representing the different timezones. The continents are cut out from the rest of the disc that displays the oceans in a light blue colour. A second sapphire crystal disc indicates the passing of day and night with a dark blue for the night and a gradient of yellow and green for the day. This disc also includes the 24-hour ring that indicates the different times in the 24 cities.
Montblanc TimeWalker Exotourbillon Minute Chonograph Limited Edition 100
For the very first time, Montblanc equips its urban modern TimeWalker collection with the Maison’s exclusive in-house patented ExoTourbillon. The combination of this high per formance regulating organ with a monopusher chronograph, daring and imposing aesthetics and mix of lightweight yet highly resistant materials reinforces the spirit of performance of the TimeWalker from case to movement.
With large openings, minimalized bezels, distinctive contoured typography, lancet-shaped hands and skeletonized horns, the signature TimeWalker aesthetics celebrate horology in a highly contemporary way. The design and the functionality of the model is further highlighted by the use of high-tech materials such as titanium, carbon fibre and diamond-like carbon (DLC), which make the timepieces extremely lightweight and robust. Performance and design are also continued through to the calibres with a selection of automatic movements and useful complication.
Montblanc is exclusively available in Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Shangri-La and Newport Mall, Resorts World, Rustan’s Cebu, and Greenbelt 5.
