Blooms Avenue in Tagaytay

By | Green, Travel | 3 Comments

When in Tagaytay, I try to make the most out of my visit – One of the places we went to was the farm of my friend, Arlene Sanchez-Maslog!  This is the rest house of her Dad and Mom at the same time there is a farm for the plants of the Mom

blooms-avenue-01.jpg

Wow!! This is a serious hobby of my Arlene’s Mom!  As you enter, there are rows and rows of greenhouses!

blooms-avenue-032.jpgblooms-avenue-04.jpgblooms-avenue-05.jpgblooms-avenue-06.jpgblooms-avenue-07.jpgblooms-avenue-03.jpg

And a beautiful rest house to stay in during the weekends! Arlene is an architect and interior designer, and she did this for her parents!!

Further to the back, a tennis court! Wow!

Then further further down, a very nice chapel!! I love this!

Going back inside, there are more greenhouses!!  With orchids and other kinds of flowers and plants

There were puppies of the workers in the house, we wanted to take this home 🙂

We cam so late the caretaker had to leave so we could not go inside the house anymore 🙁  But here it is featured in Real Living Magazine!! Congrats to my friend, Arlene!  I love the look and that it is Filipiniana

Verbena Christmas Special

By | Christmas, Foodie, Travel | No Comments

We stayed here for a day and one night and we did not have to go anywhere else to eat!  They had a great offering we could not resist 🙂

 verbena-christmas-special-01.jpg

We were there on December 18, before Christmas, so they had a special Christmas menu!  We had a wonderful stay at Discovery Country Suites

verbena-christmas-special-02.jpg

If you get the Eat, Stay, Love promo, the meal that comes with it will probably be something like this!  What a great deal!  P 8,500 ++ for the room and the meals – worth it 🙂

Discovery Country Suites Tagaytay

By | Accomodations, Travel | 2 Comments

For our 18th anniversary, James and I went to Tagaytay to spend a night away from it all 🙂  We went to Discovery Country Suites and had a wonderful stay and it was a perfect way to celebrate

discovery-country-suites-tagaytay-01.jpg

We try to go on non peak days so we do not compete with others in everything – room, food, etc etc – and it is much more peaceful

discovery-country-suites-tagaytay-02.jpgdsc_2959.jpg

It was December 18, so the place was in Christmas mode.  Being the former vacation home of the Tiu family, it is a very cozy home.  So it is just like going to be a big house and staying in one of the rooms 🙂

 discovery-country-suites-tagaytay-04.jpg

You can rent the whole house for a family vacation, for a corporate retreat, for a wedding celebration – for a very reasonable amount

The Resident Manager, Jonahs Virrey.  Doesn’t he look like John Lloyd?  🙂  People here and abroad all approach him and wanting to have a photo with him thinking he is John Lloyd 🙂  Thank you Jonahs for taking care of us during our stay

Library of books, DVDs, games and video games which you can borrow

Our room was in the basement so this is like the family room of the house

discovery-country-suites-tagaytay-011.jpgdiscovery-country-suites-tagaytay-012.jpg

Each room has a theme

 country-suites-tagaytay-rooms.jpg

We got Nara – which was Japanese.  This is one of the biggest rooms in the house

Oh my gosh!! Our family photo! 🙂  Just like the Discovery group to add a personal touch to everything.  Suddenly I missed my kids when I saw this photo! haha!!

Outside our room is the garden and there is a jacuzzi which you can use

Mapping Your Miracles by Anita Moorjani

By | Hot Off the Press, Workshops | 4 Comments

I received this from my friend, Tisha Cruz- Bautista of Isdanco Foundation.  Aside from her being busy helping people from Mindanao, she has organized this very interesting full day workshop with a good friend, Alvin Lim!

I am looking forward to attending this and reading her book!  Everyone is invited to attend, please read details below from Tisha

Greetings from Arkeology, Inc.!

arkeology.jpg

We are an organization dedicated to re-defining what it means to give: to ourselves and our communities through a “Campaign of Consciousness” by providing people with information and perspectives that will allow them to make better decisions towards living a happier life. Arkeology is all about Choice. It is about finding, discovering, sharing the best version of ourselves through programs and projects that promote a genuine awareness. We believe that LIVING fully IN this world but not BEING fully OF this world can truly change it.

In this regard, we offer the first of many speaking engagements.

Anita Moorjani is the best selling author of the book “Dying to be Me”(NY Times Best-seller and endorsed by Dr. Wayne Dyer) — an account of her remarkable near death experience and almost instant recovery from Stage Four Cancer (Lymphoma).

dr-wayne-dyer-wishes-fulfilled-dyingbookfrom-combo.jpg

Her subsequent healing has remained one of the most amazing ever recorded in Medical History. Anita’s new found perspective on life, and death and her moving message of hope continues to bring such comfort to cancer survivors, their families as well as numerous followers. She inspires her audience to transform their lives by living more authentically, discovering their greatest passions and purpose, transcending their deepest fears and living always from a place of pure joy. Your life counts. It is meant to be good.

Entitled “Mapping  Your Miracles” — Ms. Moorjani will be in Manila this January 2013. We will be holding two days of talks/presentations during her visit:

1)    Saturday – January 26, 2013- 3:30pm to 6:30pm – at the RCBC Plaza Theatre

2)    Sunday –   January  27, 2013- 3:30pm to 6:30pm – at the Quezon Ballroom of the Makati Shangrila Hotel

We estimate a minimum of 250 participants per venue at a cost of Php2000 per ticket(for RCBC) and Php2500 per ticket(for Makati Shangri-La). The attendees are expected to be from a mixed demographic: all ages, all backgrounds, cancer-touched, cancer-free. We will have Ms. Moorjani’s book available for sale at the venue and subsequent book-signing on each day.

In addition, as part of one of Arkeology’s corporate HR programs, she will also conduct a full-day workshop for one of the foremost Filipino companies in the country. Incorporating real world concerns of the business industry she also address the following items: dealing with stress, practicing the right perspective, oneness, understanding the physical aspect of life and finding your ultimate purpose.

 mapping-your-miracles.jpg

We feel that Anita Moorjani’s contribution to the well-being both physical and emotional of many in our community will be genuinely invaluable for those who are living with this disease and for those left behind. Hers is a message of oneness, of hope, of miracles. Help us change lives by choosing to support this endeavor.

Birthday Celebration for Krie

By | Celebrations, Foodie, For kids | No Comments

For Krie’s birthday last November, we had a different celebration.  Chef Javs cooked our meal!  Thanks to Chef Javs, Mom’s kitchen is actually being used 🙂  He loves staying with Lolo and Lola on weekends and no school days – and he loves to cook for them.  Here is the kitchen as he prepares for dinner, I visited him to check on him but he does not like me to take much photos

happy-bday-krie-01.jpg

One of Chef Javs specialty – Roast Chicken – I always tell him to cook the same thing over and over again so he can master a dish and be able to prepare it consistently all the time.  So this dish he can do it well and really good 🙂

happy-bday-krie-02.jpg

The family loves his beer battered fish and chips – especially Lola!  This is always a special request!

happy-bday-krie-03.jpghappy-bday-krie-04.jpg

Krie’s siblings – Troy and Candy – joined us that evening 🙂
