My beautiful friend, Cherina!  Congrats dear!! Take note of the wall behind her from Ecocarat 🙂

Cherina told me that they brought in Ecocarat since they were building their buildings, condos and homes.  Wow! Hopefully those will be featured here in Heart2Heart! 🙂

The beauty with Ecocarat is it absorbs moisture so especially for vacation homes which you leave for long periods of time,  there won’t be any smell.

We were made to spray the wall and i noticed that there would be no signs of water or anything wet!  AMAZING!!! Leave it to the Japanese to invent something like this!

ecocarat-010.jpgecocarat-humidity.jpgecocarat-humidity-2.jpg

Tessa points out Humidity and Aroma testing areas.  Guests spray water onto the Eocarat wall displays to see how quickly Ecocarat absorbs the water.   Guests also try out the test jars of coffee beans. The ones with just coffee beans have a strong coffee smell while those coffee beans mixed with Ecocarat have no smell.

Ten Pretty Cool Things…. not a joke

Pretty Cool

  somebrai1.gif

Don’t ask me! I don’t know how it’s done!!

Read out loud the text inside the triangle below.

 somebrai2.gif

More than likely you said, ‘A bird in the bush,’! and…If this IS what YOU said, then you failed to seethat the word THE is repeated twice!Sorry, look again.

OPTICAL ILLUSION

somebrai3.gif

You may not see it at first, but the white spaces read the word optical, the blue landscape reads the word illusion.Look again!

What do you see here?somebrai.jpg

This one is quite tricky! The word TEACH reflects as LEARN.

What do you see?

 somebrai4.gif

You probably read the word ME in brown, but…when you look through ME you will see YOU ! Do you need to look again?

Test Your Brain

somebrai5.gifThis is really cool. The second one is amazing so please read all the way though.

ALZHEIMER’S EYE TEST

Count every ‘F ‘ in the following text:FINISHED FILES ARE THE RESULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTIFIC STUDY COMBINED WITHTHE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS…(SEE BELOW)HOW MANY ?WRONG, THERE ARE 6 — no joke.READ IT AGAIN !

Really, go back and try to find the 6 ‘F’s’ before you scroll down. The reasoning behind is further down. The brain cannot process ‘OF’.

 somebrai6.gif

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!

Anyone who counts all 6 ‘F’s’ on the first go is a genius! Three is normal, four is quite rare. Send this to your friends. It will drive them crazyand keep them occupied for several minutes!

somebrai7.gif

Look at the spinning woman and if she is turning right, your right

Side of your brain is working.

If she is turning left, your left side of your barain is working.

If she turns both ways for you, then  you have a 160 or better IQ

More Brain Stuff…from Cambridge University

Javier’s Summer Job at Cibo

By | Education, Foodie, For kids, Workshops | 12 Comments

One day, Jaime happily announces to us that he got his brother, Javier a summer job!  I love it that my son is learning to use his connections! 🙂 Apparently, he contacted his good friend, Amado ( son of Gaita Fores ), and asked him to get Javier a summer job at Cibo 🙂  What a good brother!  He has been so frustrated that Javier is not making use of his summer so  he made the initiative to get him something to do…and the beauty of it is it is right beside where Jaime has his summer job at Starbucks 🙂

Previous Entry:  Visiting Jaime at Starbucks June 29, 2012

Two weeks ago, I went to drop Javs off to Cibo on his first day

cibo-rockwell-powerplant.jpeg

Love this place!

javs-cibo-training6.JPGjavs-cibo-training-5.JPGcibo-dining-area-rockwell-powerplant-mall.jpeg

And here is Tita Gaita!!  Welcoming Javier and turning him over to her manager, Eunice! I turned him over to them and wished them luck! haha!!

javier-tita-gaita-fores-and-eunice-at-cibo.jpeg

Tita Gaita brought him into the kitchen

javs-in-the-kitchen-with-tita-gaita-fores.jpeg

I saw these posters on the kitchen door!  And I love them!  This is why Gaita is so successful!

cibo-vmos-gaita-fores.jpgprayer-cibo-gaita-fores.jpegcredo-of-cibo-gaita-fores.jpeg

Day 3 at training, I went to visit him to check on him and just as I suspected, the first thing I see in the window – Javier eating lunch!  It was 1130am!  I told Gaita that I think Javier’s incentive to go to work is to have his meal! He loves Cibo food!

javs-cibo-training2.JPG

Pizza!! He was describing to me his pizza with so much passion!! Then I left him to work

javs-cibo-training-3.JPGjavs-cibo-training-4.JPG

I went back in the afternoon and peeped thru the kitchen hole and there he was cooking!!  I was happy because that is what he really likes!  And I am happy he is learning about the business because he keeps telling me that one day he wants to open his own restaurant.  Well, what better way than to learn from one who is successful now like Tita Gaita! Thank you Gaita!!!

javs-cibo-training-7.JPG

And we decided to do a full force visit so we can try his cooking!

manong-got-me-the-job-at-cibo.JPG

Javs in the kitchen, he is in heaven when he is inside here 🙂

javs-cooking-at-cibo.JPG

We requested for Javier to cook our meal – we will not mind if it is not perfect 🙂 He is not allowed to cook for customers yet since he is not yet professionally ready to do so, so when we ordered we made sure he was allowed to cook for us and they let him 🙂

javs-cooking-pasta-at-cibo.JPGjavs-cooking-telefono-at-cibo.JPG

Prepared by Javs for his brother – Pasta with pate – not sure of the name

liver-pasta-cibo.JPG

The famous Telefono!  Everyone is asking Javier for the recipe but he does not know either! 🙂  Good system by Gaita!

telefono-at-cibo.JPG

Pasta Valentin ordered by Javier but not cooked by him, he wanted to rest and eat…..  “Mom, I’m tired, I’ve been standing all day!  I punched out already” 🙂

Dessert! YUM!

 cioccolato-dessert-cibo.JPG

Javs and his friends!  Thank you for taking care of Javs!  Do come and visit Javs in Cibo, Powerplant Mall, Rockwell on Monday, Wednesday or Friday during lunch time

Happy 15th Anniversary to Cibo! 10 branches!! More power to Cibo and to Gaita Fores!!

Make Your Own Pizza at Sunday Lunch

By | Foodie, Great Inventions | One Comment

I discovered another way to make use of tortillas from Village Gourmet!!!  Thanks to my friend Janet for introducing this to me!

Previous entry:  Heart2Heart’s Pizza Pita Sandwich October 22, 2010

This is dedicated to Noye and Nicole Fandino! 🙂

tortillas-2.jpg

We use it as a pizza crust!  I love it because I like thin crust to save on calories from thick pizza crusts.  And the beauty is it is so easy to make a quick pizza with it.  Just pull it out from the ref, put the topping and toast it and have a mini pizza just for yourself

You can even have it in whole wheat!

tortillas-1.jpg

And of course I have my favorite pizza sauces which you can get at H2H’s Favorite things store.  These are big cans but we use a lot anyway so it is okay.  I just store it in the freezer and get when needed

TAKE YOUR PICK!  🙂

pizza-buffet-01.jpgpizza-buffet-02.jpgpizza-buffet-03.jpgpizza-buffet-04.jpgpizza-buffet-05.jpg

We set up a pizza station with two toasters just like how Janet set up in Javier’ party

Prepared lots of grated mozarella cheese, pizza sauce and toppings

pineapple, black olives, green olives, bacon, ground beef, mushrooms, anchovies, onions, green pepper

The Toughest  Questions for Men

1. What are you thinking about?

2. Do you love me?

3. Do I look fat?

4. Do you think she is prettier than me?

5. What would you do if I died?

What makes these questions so difficult is that each one is

guaranteed to explode into a major argument if the man answers

incorrectly (i.e. tells the truth). Therefore, as a public

service, each question is analyzed below, along with possible

responses.

Question # 1: What are you thinking about?

The proper answer to this, of course, is: “I’m sorry if I’ve been

pensive, dear. I was just reflecting on what a warm, wonderful,

thoughtful, caring, intelligent woman you are, and how lucky I am

to have met you.”

This response obviously bears no resemblance to the true answer,

which most likely is one of the following:

a. Baseball.

b. Football.

c. How fat you are.

d. How much prettier she is than you.

e. How I would spend the insurance money if you died.

(Perhaps the best response to this question was offered by Al

Bundy, who once told Peg, “If I wanted you to know what I was

thinking, I would be talking to you!”)

Question # 2: Do you love me?

The proper response is: “YES!” or, if you feel a more detailed

answer is in order, “Yes, dear.”

Inappropriate responses include:

a. Oh Yeah, loads.

b. Would it make you feel better if I said yes?

c. That depends on what you mean by love.

d. Does it matter?

e. Who, me?

Question # 3: Do I look fat?

The correct answer is an emphatic: “Of course not!”

Among the incorrect answers are:

a. Compared to what?

b. I wouldn’t call you fat, but you’re not exactly thin.

c. A little extra weight looks good on you.

d. I’ve seen fatter.

e. Could you repeat the question? I was just thinking about how I

would spend the insurance money if you died.

Question # 4: Do you think she’s prettier than me?

Once again, the proper response is always: “Of course not!”

Incorrect responses include:

a. Yes, but you have a better personality.

b. Not prettier, but definitely thinner.

c. Not as pretty as you when you were her age.

d. Define pretty.

e. Could you repeat the question? I was just thinking about how I

would spend the insurance money if you died.

Question# 5: What would you do if I died?

A definite no-win question, but one response that might work is:

“I’d be devastated, and struggle to go on without you.”

Incorrect responses include:

a. I’d turn to your sister for comfort and solace.

b. I’d sell your clothes and shoes and retire.

c. I’d see if your (recently divorced) best friend is still

    available.

The real answer, of course, is “Buy a Corvette!”
