Trina Turk Bio

Born and raised in California, Turk was 11 years old when her mother first taught her to sew. She studied apparel design at the University of Washington and took her first job with the Seattle-based sportswear manufacturer, Britannia Jeans. Turk’s next stop was Los Angeles, where she waded into a sea of 30 prints per season designing surf wear for ocean pacific.

With her husband, then stylist, now photographer Jonathan Skow as partner, Trina Turk, the company, was born in 1995. In the same year, her clothing was sold by Barney’s New York, Fred Segal, and Saks Fifth Avenue. With that, Trina Turk’s wholesale sales topped $40 million in 2009.

Inspired by the multicultural mix, architecture, and landscape of Los Angeles and California, the Trina Turk collection is full of the season’s most casually sophisticated-and “must have” silhouettes. Trina’s philosophy is to create wearable, optimistic sportswear. The collection has become known for n amazing pant fit and gorgeous signature prints. Swimwear was introduced in 2007 through a license with apparel ventures.

EMPORIO ARMANI EYEWEAR: 30 COLORFUL YEARS

1981 – Emporio Armani was founded. The fashion was always one step ahead of the times….dynamic, proactive and generously individual. 

2011 – Emporio Armani celebrates its 30th anniversary with a capsule eyewear collection

No nostalgia. The message beams at streaming speed towards digital futures. Fashion is play, movement, energy and pleasure.

Two models, iconic silhouettes are revisited with a touch of irony, producing transparent, lightweight and incisive results. For him, an ultra-flat teardrop shielded model (EA 9838/S) and for her an oversized rounded model (EA 9837/S). The ‘30° EMPORIO ARMANI’ logo is presented on the front of the frame and the metal signature eagle on the temples. The color options include breathtaking pixel bursts in pink, red, purple or green.  Alternatively softer shades of brown, shiny grey and smoke grey are available to round off the selection.

The glasses will be available in monochrome versions from mid-October in Emporio Armani stores, department stores and top opticians.

Also from mid-October, a mini website will be launched offering a web experience where personal Emporio Armani 30° Anniversary versions can be created by choosing individual mixes of temples, lenses and logos from infinity of possible combinations. 1,030 of these customised models will become available.
