Hotels in Sydney

By | Accomodations, Travel | No Comments

I will try to put some information that I know about some Sydney Hotels that we stayed in and visited.  Hopefully this can help some of you who are planning to go to Sydney.

When we went to Australia five years ago, we stayed at the Sheraton on the Park

Previous entry: Sheraton on the Park June 16, 2009

We walked by here this trip to check it out again.  It’s really a nice hotel because it is across Hyde Park

and St. Mary’s Cathedral

Gigantic chess game in Hyde Park 🙂

It’s so near all the shops – you can go around just by walking.  A few streets away is Darling Harbor already.  Three New York blocks down you reach the Rocks.

Five years ago this did not exist, but now it’s open – the Westfield Mall

This trip we tried another area which was by the Rocks.  We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel. It’s the orange brownish building.  Behind it is the Shangri-la Hotel.  Location wise, I would prefer the Four Seasons because of the location. Location Location Location 🙂

I am noticing the good looking guys in the hotel 🙂

I love hotel lobby arrangements – this changed after a week to Easter which was even more beautiful  Previous entry:  Get Fluffy This Easter April 20, 2014

Love the chandelier by the front of the hotel doors

Love this restaurant, the Woods, which is just by the lobby.  It’s wood fired cooking

The Four Seasons Hotel always has goodies for the kids upon arrival – love! 🙂

The hotel is a bit “dated” but it was okay for me

This area has it’s own charm as well.  It’s more quaint shopping

There is also a church nearby – around 2 blocks away

There is a small park right across:-)

You are by the Rocks – just right across the hotel

Where the Museum is!!  LOVE!! 🙂
hotels-in-sydney-4.JPG

It’s so near the train station, the ferry boats ( which you take to Taronga zoo ) and where the cruise ships dock.  Walk further down and you are by the Harbor bridge.

The hotel in this photo is the Park Hyatt Hotel.  This is a hotel for those who want to have more privacy.  I heard that many VIPs and Stars stay here 🙂  The rooms are very nice and modern.

They are quite strict with photography – you cannot take photos inside the hotel because of the privacy of the guests I assume! I felt so bad 🙁 James and Mom came back another day and they bumped into Cameron Diaz.  Since I was not there, no one of course took a photo!  We don’t believe unless there is proof, so I googled and true enough they were there! 🙂  They were in Sydney to promote their new movie, The Other Woman

I like the Rocks area – is more relaxed compared to being in the middle of the shopping district.  And you have different areas to view the Opera House

We were considering this hotel too but since we were booking last minute, we could not stay here.  It’s also very near George Street and the shopping district

Thank you to our wonderful hosts in Iloilo!! Allan and Allen and family!!

hotel-del-rio-1.JPG

We were treated so well, I only want to go to Iloilo when they are hosting 🙂  From beginning till end, we were taken cared of so well.  From the airport to the port, to food and water in the vans, and even our tour itinerary was taken cared of by them.  I told Allen that they should have a travel agency as well 🙂

H20 Hotel

By | Accomodations, Animals and Pets | No Comments

I have always been curious to see this hotel!  I finally had the chance since I was in the area.  This is the view from the hotel reception/lobby.  My friend, Eric, told me that this area gets so full you cannot walk anymore.  It’s full of kids and visitors going to Manila Ocean Park.  I am so glad it’s doing well.  The developer of this whole place is building an underground hotel in Boracay and will open in 2015.  I am looking forward to seeing that!!!

h2o-hotel-5.JPG

The entrance to the hotel is actually the same entrance as the Ocean Park – but you pass the left side which will take you to the elevator going up to the lobby.  The hotel is owned and operated by a Singaporean and I would say it is being maintained well.  It’s clean and does not look run down.  I hope they keep this up
h2o-hotel-1.jpeg

Love the hallway to the rooms
h2o-hotel-4.jpg

The room with an aquarium!!  And no that will not break unless someone really purposely tries to break it.  This Aquarium goes the whole perimeter of the rooms – so it is just one aquarium circling the rooms.  The glass is double glass so don’t worry about it breaking while you are sleeping 🙂
h2o-hotel-1.JPG

It’s a small room but it is clean and I must say unique!  Not for claustrophobic people but definitely a unique experience

There is a special area for people who book in this wing.  It’s like their Executive floor with special facilities for businessmen or people who would like to have more exclusivity and privacy

Nice lounging area with a nice view of Manila Bay

Going to the Club rooms- it’s a bit hot in the afternoons

Executive Lounge at the Four Seasons

By | Accomodations | No Comments

Since there was a meal in the Executive lounge almost every part of the day, this was our hang out 🙂  When we arrived there was afternoon tea, then every breakfast we were there and then our last night, we just had a light dinner

Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong

By | Accomodations, Travel | No Comments

It was my first time to stay in Four Seasons Hotel and I loved it!  When we arrived from the plane, right outside the tunnel was a guy with two carts – they transported us to immigration!

They were with us in the luggage carousel too and they brought all our luggage to our cars which took us to the hotel.  The main guy is Filipino 🙂

Again a reindeer at the front of the hotel.  I told you they like reindeers 🙂

And bears covered with fresh flowers!!!! LOVE!!!!!

I remembered the Puppy by Jeff Koons in the Guggenheim ( Previous entry:  Guggenheim Bilbao November 28, 2013)

and a bear I saw in one of the Russian palaces which was also made out of leaves

Hotel Maria Cristina

By | Accomodations, Homes and Interiors, Travel | No Comments

This was a feature supposedly in the San Sebastian series.  We visited this hotel which is supposedly the best in San Sebastian and it is 5 Star.  It is beautiful!  Though we preferred staying in our hotel because of the view
