Moonlight Dinner by the Beach

We had a wonderful last evening at Aman! We are all grateful for this wonderful blessing!!

As we walked out of the villa towards the beach, there was this wonderful set up!

Happy Birthday Iya

Happy Birthday Christina!! I watched this girl grow up for almost 20 years! She has had a few names since then – Chrissy and now Iya but I cannot seem to get used to calling her Iya

Christina is the daughter of one of my good friends, and one of our most loyal managers, Brenda, who has been working with the family

Taipan at Tower Club Philamlife Building

I wanted to spend time one on one with my friend, Margie, so I invited her to lunch! She was so busy singing and being sung to during her birthday 🙂 I wanted to catch up with her

I was eating this while waiting for her since she insisted that Tower Club was in RCBC Plaza. She was arguing with the people there and saying that Tower Club was on the top floor 🙂 Hilarious as usual

I was checking out the menus

This looked interesting, I chose two dishes from this menu

Deep Fried Shredded Garoupa with Strawberry – I just realized now that as I am writing this, the fish was not shredded. hmmmm….But anyway I always like trying unique dishes so I ordered this rather than the usual sweet and sour pork or Lemon chicken

I subconsciously like dishes that are fried! Crispy wrapper with Mango and Scallops

Margie on the other hand just wanted Dimsum so she ordered three dishes

Steamed Chicken feet which I did not touch 🙂 but is one of her favorites

Deep Fried Mashed Taro dumplings with seafood

Tofu Skin roll which was not on the menu but she managed to charm the waiter to have the chef make it and he did 🙂

As usual I was entertained by Margie. She said the venue was very “STIP” ( stiff ) that is why she could not talk so loud and laugh aloud 🙂 But I am happy to get to know more of her everytime we meet

I am amazed how she can be a mother of 4 boys! I have only two and it’s driving me crazy 🙂

Oops, I forgot the 5th boy in Margie’s life! 🙂

92nd Birthday Celebration of Lolo Benny

We had a beautiful family celebration for Lolo’s 92nd birthday! This was a very special birthday for Lolo because his birthday fell on the Feast of the Divine Mercy. For Lolo this was such a blessing for him and this made him very very happy to celebrate on this special day

He only invited the family and his pilgrimage group and a very select few friends. The theme was Moroccan though he insisted we order Japanese food from Sugi! 🙂

4 Priests concelebrated the Holy Mass – Fr. Frias, Fr. Adorable, Msgr. Bernardo and Fr. Dennis!

Decor was done by Rustan’s Flower shop – by my sister, Maricar. In theme with his devotion to the Divine Mercy

After dinner, Fr. Caluag gave a surprise for Lolo Benny!! Entertainment by Vina Morales! 🙂

The letter B for Benny made out of the gold Selecta ice cream cans which they lit with candles

This to me was magical! Beautiful Moroccan set up!!!!!!

All the third generation group photo – Thanks to Marie she brought us all to Morocco in this photo! I told the family, one day I hope that we just do not imagine being in Morocco but actually be there 🙂 That’s my wish! 🙂

for lending us your beautiful Majorelle furniture and accessories. It was amazing how they transformed the place and brightened it up with the Moroccan touch! Jia told me that she went to Morocco and collaborated with her sister in law, Malou Jaidi and they worked closely with the suppliers there. They provided the colors and designs and the manufacturers executed it. Obviously they have good taste! The merchandise is truly beautiful – Made in Morocco but made especially for the Philippine market – all available at Rustan’s

Propagation of the Devotion to the Divine Mercy

One of Lolo’s legacy to the family is THE FAMILY! Lolo is making sure that the family is strong and united as he wants to see this while he is still alive and long after he is gone. Another one of his legacies is his devotion to the Lord – whether it be in the form of the Twin Sacred Hearts or the Divine Mercy. The family and the Rustan Group of companies have always been devoted to the Sacred Heart – weekly masses and stores are all dedicated to the Sacred Heart enthroned in every blessing.

After Lolo’s pilgrimage to Krakow, he is now propagating the Divine Mercy.

Annual Joint Birthday Celebration

There are so many birthday celebrations in April! My Dad and Mom just joins us all together every year for our birthday celebration since we are all in April and one in May

I featured this table already before. Mom had this made so we can all fit including the 3rd generation

Catered by Kai. The majority of the family always prefers to have meals at home especially when we are a big group. Sushi and Sashimi buffet for appetizer

This was my favorite – though it looks like unagi – half of it is foie gras sushi 🙂 YUM!

I asked Mom if I could take charge of the cakes this time- so I tried to get the favorite cakes of each celebrant

White Chocolate Mousse by Gateau de Manille – one of my favorites in College. I put those polvoron cupcakes on top 🙂

Turtle pie from Goodies N Sweets for M. Jun Jun – they did not have a big size so I just got mini ones and just added those merengue haha!! it got eaten so fast

I wanted a Rainbow cake for Pam but the Cake Shack was not accepting orders that weekend 🙁

So I got a mocha cake instead from Cake Avenue which is actually something I like more than her haha!!

And I made this for M. Noey since he is the Starbucks guy 🙂 I ordered the cupcakes from Cake Avenue and just assembled it. Happy birthday to all of us!
