Mart’s 40th Birthday

By | Celebrations | One Comment

Mart has been a highschool friend of James…. which is more than 25 years ago.

Happy Birthday Mart and Welcome to the 40’s Club! 🙂

“Heyo! 7pm Danny’s House.  Really Casual.  We’re playing strictly 80’s. So feel free to wear shorts or bust out your acid wash jeans, Hard Rock tshirts, espadrilles or top siders!”

No,  this is not a photo from the party but taken in 1987 during Twins Day in ISM  and when Hard Rock was the trend ……..and everyone wanted to have a Hard Rock t-shirt 🙂

National Famealy Day Sept. 27

By | Celebrations | No Comments

On September 27, 2010 (Monday), we again invite you to celebrate National FaMEALy Day – Pagkilala na Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga ©  and join hundreds of parents who will come home early to have dinner with their children.

National FaMEALy Day, a nationwide call to celebrate family dining every 4th Monday of September , serves as a reminder that eating together is a simple but effective means for parents to raise happy, healthy and successful children.  This nationwide initiative is recognized under Presidential Proclamation 1895, issued September 30, 2009, which declares the commemoration of the Filipino Family Day every 4th Monday of September.

dilg-memo.jpg

The proven benefits of shared mealtime is the main reason why Lucky Me! launched its advocacy, Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga © , encouraging families tobring back the practice of regular family meals.

This year, Lucky Me!’s Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga© advocacy campaign is blessed to to have been acknowledged by award-giving bodies such as University of Asia and Pacific’s 4th Integrated Marketing Communcations Effectiveness Awards (aka the Tambuli Awards) nad Philippine Association of National Advertisers (aka PANA), and we are proud to say that accolades given were of the highest order.

This 2010, Lucky Me! continues its efforts in encouraging to bring families to regularly eat back together with its call to once again celebrate National FaMEALy Day which falls on September 27  this year. Families from all over the country are encouraged to be home for dinner on this day.  The Department of Social Welfare and Development will issue a Departmental Order to all its member agencies allowing their employees to leave earlier on September 27.  This day, and hopefully everyday in the coming years, will serve as a reminder to parents that their presence at the dinner table plays a major part in shaping their children’s future.

Let’s be home for dinner on Sept. 27, dahil ang Kainang Pamilya ay Mahalaga!

Dad’s Birthday Celebration at Shang Palace

By | Celebrations, Foodie | 3 Comments

We all treated dad for his birthday last week!  This is one of the best Shang Palace dinners for me because we had dishes which we were not the usual and we had never ordered these dishes before.   Heart2Heart liked them all 🙂 Thanks to John for choosing the food! We had sweet and sour pork but this time with walnuts.  The cod fillets with barbeque sauce was really good and is one of my favorite now, we also had it when we had lunch with Tita Vivian ( Shang Palace with Tita Vivian and Tats Sept 10, 2010). The stir fried noodles was so good especially with the bagoong on the side!  And the Prawns which we normally have with mayo ( Prawns salad ) , this time was with orange sauce.  Yummy! 🙂

And everyone wanted a photo with Dad/Dada! We all love him!

Sea Princess Birthday Bash and Dance O’Rama

By | Celebrations | 4 Comments

Heart2Heart told Tessa to change already her title to QUEEN! 🙂 I admire the level of energy she has to be all over the place gracing and touching everyone’s lives!  Heart2Heart will try her best to document her as much as she can, but for sure will never be able to catch up on her whereabouts! It’s amazing!  We are drawn to her and love her because she also gives so much of herself to others!  Which is one reason why it’s so hard to say “no” to her! even if we hardly go out for late night parties, but for Tessa, we will. We missed the Dance O’Rama part and did not get to disco anymore.  But we are sure it was a blast!  Happy Birthday dear Sea Queen Tessa! 🙂

The Ultimate Round Dining Table

By | Celebrations, Foodie | 2 Comments

We attended a very interesting dinner last month. It was a great experience and we were so happy Dad and Mom took us along to the dinner. We hear so much raves about Tito Robbie and Tita Helen from Dad and Mom, so it was a priviledge to actually join them……. and we had an instant admiration for them.

Thank you Tito Robbie and Tita Helen for sharing your home and your beautiful family with us.

 img_5323.jpgimg_5331.jpg

I normally feature people, food and table setting but this time, there were so many other things that were different from the usual

Remember when I featured the ROUND DINING TABLE? ( Click on link below )

https://heart-2-heart-online.com/2008/07/22/the-round-dining-table/

Tito Robbie will not eat in any restaurant that does not have a round  dining table! Tito Robbie even has his own round table in Antonio’s whenever he goes there.  Now you know where Dad and Mom get the inspiration for their round table

This was our dining table that evening

 img_5324.JPG

And according to Tita Helen, his dining table keeps growing and growing. The table we had for dinner was good for 18 but the real table that will come will be good for 22.

Tita Helen also told me that there are 3 things that are required when having dinner with Tito Robbie

1.)  You have to remove your shoes and you have to wear slippers which they so kindly provide 🙂

img_5334.jpgimg_5320.JPGimg_5321.JPG

2.)  You need to talk about yourself and update everyone of the latest things you have been up to.  For us since we were new to everyone, we just introduced ourselves. I am very very shy and don’t normally like talking about myself but I do enjoying listening to others talk because I learn so much from them.  That evening, everyone had to talk about themselves and not only did I learn a lot  from my seatmates ( which is what normally happens ) but it seems like I got to talk to the whole table and we were 17 all in all.  I noticed that in this dinner,  I could not concentrate on my food as I was very interested in listening to everyone.

img_5367.JPGimg_5365.JPGimg_5380.JPG

3.)  There must be a group photo after the dinner

img_5400.jpg

And this is what we had for dinner…..
