Rambla

By | Foodie, What's New at Power Plant Mall | One Comment

I was looking at all my delayed Spain posts and suddenly had a craving for Spanish food!!! It’s a good thing Rambla opened in Rockwell!!!

Opened by the same owners as Las Flores.  Uri Singla was there 🙂  Rambla is Catalan food.  I have never been to that area so I am so happy to have been able to try their cuisine!

Previous entry:  Las Flores April 16, 2013

Chef Pepe who is their corporate chef

Pretty servers 🙂

Loved my Naughty Banana Smoothie ( even though I am not naughty! 🙂 )

We ordered almost everything on the menu!  We wanted to try all!! 🙂  Good thing we were a lot 🙂  Everything was good!!  No need to go all the way to Spain to have good Spanish food when you can have it here!

Super yum croquettes!!  Please have some more croquettes with different fillings!

Uri personally took care of us!  We got the BEST service 🙂

Spherical Olives

Yum!!! My Dad was telling Uri to have a degustation meal!  I hope they will offer this in the future.  Chef Pepe is very talented!

Crispy Catalan Flat bread – Butifara and the next one was Goat cheese!  VERY GOOD!!

Egg dishes were also excellent!  Amazing how a simple egg is now being cooked in many ways!

rambla-vegetables.JPGAmazing dish!!!

rambla-esqueixada.jpeg

WOW! Burrata!!  A MUST!

We almost tried everything on the meat menu except the cannelloni

Wow! 🙂 Once in awhile hopefully is not bad!

Uri told us that we need to try this since this is the Chef’s specialty!  It was amazing.  Under those prawns is the chicken and seafood coulant!  AMAZING!  First time for me to try a dish like this

YUM!!!!!

I can’t stop saying yum!  Everything was really good.  PORK PORK PORK! 🙂  A very well made crispy suckling pig!  YUM!

Seafood dishes which were all very popular.  We were 9 in the table and we shared all the dishes

We had three out of the four 🙂  YUM!

Churros 🙂

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

We were craving for chuletitas!  We were in Spain for 5 days already and have not had some chuletitas so we asked Jose to look for a restaurant that served it.  And he found one!  A very nice one at that 🙂

The highlight of the menu for us 🙂

Cordero lechal asado which we did not order, but we should have after seeing it come out of the brick oven!
ibanez-de-bilbao-asador-3.jpeg

CHULETITAS!!!!! YUM YUM SUPER YUM!  That looks a lot but because it’s baby lamb chops, it’s actually a good portion.  The cochinillo asado was so good too!!!  WE LOVE THIS PLACE!

They even have a degustation menu!

Bellychon

By | Foodie, Pork, Proud to be Pinoy! | One Comment

Lechon! Bagnet! Pork! Porchetta! is the in thing now!! It’s everywhere in all forms! 🙂  A little bird whispered to me that there is this place in Greenbelt that has really good porchetta!  So I asked James to accompany me to try it out!  It is in Greenbelt 1 beside Mercury Drug and Binalot.  It has street front location. A simple no frills place but decent and clean

bellychon-14.JPG
bellychon-4.jpg

From outside the window, you can see them cutting up the porchetta
bellychon-15.JPG

You can dine in and order a meal or you can order the porchetta by the kilo
bellychon-13.JPG

That whole piece will be around 4 to 6 kilos – so it will cost maybe P 2,500 to P 3,000 for that whole roll without bones!  So you can buy that roll and have it for your dinner or party.  And it’s Cebu lechon that is so tasty and yummy!  Unlike other places I hear they have many kinds of fillings and flavors – this one has only regular and spicy
bellychon-1.JPG
bellychon-2.JPG
bellychon-3.JPG

This is the dine in menu.  We wanted to try the sisig but they did not have it
bellychon-6.jpg
bellychon-8.JPG

The Bellychon meal comes with a soup which tasted like sinigang – sarap 🙂
bellychon-7.JPG

We wanted to try it first so we ordered the Bellychon meal for P 120.00. WOW! SARAP!
bellychon-9.JPG
bellychon-12.JPG

So happy to see Chichi and Noel there too.  Apparently this is his secret hideaway too 🙂

bellychon-10.JPG

We were watching them order and they really knew what part to ask for so look at their meal! SKIN SKIN YUMMY SKIN 🙂
