The Fruit Garden Brings Jam and Art Together

By | Arts and Culture, Christmas, Foodie, Proud to be Pinoy! | No Comments

Talking about sweet couples and Filipinas marrying foreigners 🙂  Here’s another favorite couple of Heart2Heart!  Pierre and Ria, the sweet couple behind The Fruit Garden.  Every year they have something new

So nice how they mixed Art with their products – a Negrenese artist – Charlie Co who is a friend of Ria who is from Negros

the-fruit-garden-brings-art-and-jam-together0a-6.JPG

In Charlie Co’s words, the painting “is a marriage between two people from two different cultures as shown by the different landmarks in the background, the Eiffel tower and the Bacolod plazza bandstand

The viewer is brought into a stage where the story begins to unfold. The Negros lansdcape shows the three mountains of Negros and sugar cane field. Paper boat dots the ground representing dreams. A couple stands atop a horse, and the horse represents travelling. They have travelled to many far places only to find their home in the Philippines

A violinist plays beautiful music as the couple celebrates with food and wine their successful partnership not just in love but in business as well. Pierre and Ria have perfected the Recipe of Love”

Each package comes with a gift card with the same artwork of the painting

New from Pepita’s Kitchen!

By | Foodie, Proud to be Pinoy! | 3 Comments

Heart2Heart is happy to announce many new things from Pepita’s!!

 1150830_10201806251218378_508585549_n.jpg

Congratulations Dedet, Curly Pepita Lileya and Little Pepita Liyora!!!  I have been waiting for this day for several months now! 🙂  Thank you Dedet for inviting us once again to your home and sharing your latest creations!  It’s been a year and a bit since we came and talked about your lechon and now you are already a smashing success!!!  Heart2Heart is so happy!!

Previous entry:  Pepitas Lechon March 11, 2012

Heart2Heart will always support you!

Nice to see you too Spanky Enriquez!  A very good friend who saw the potential in Dedet and until now continues to support Pepitas!

The first new thing from Dedet is her new HAYOP na DEGUSTATION! New menu and new dishes!

Our pica pica 🙂

New menu means new table setting with the help of good friend and interior designer, Tito Villanueva who we missed that evening!  I love the Filipiniana touch!  PROUD TO BE PINOY!

We wore the sampaguita necklace 🙂

The new menu!  What I like about Dedet is that her food is really one of a kind!  You will not find any of her dishes anywhere because she invented them herself and she named them too!  She comes out every dish and explains the dishes and the names!  Very interesting!  I love unique dishes and trying new concoctions.  We had 14 dishes and it took us around 3 hours to finish 🙂  But in the real degustation there are 12 dishes.

The portions are small and just perfect the way I want it!!

Magic potion by Curly Pepita who demonstrated how to drink it – The magic potion is made of lambanog and dayap poured on cotton candy

Tendon made into chicharon with sinigang na gabi dip!

HIPon with itLOG = HIPLOG!  Super yum! You can order this as well – see below for the food to go menu

LOVE THIS TOO!!!  We were all raving from beginning to end!  That was chicharon salt inside the shell which you put on top of the bone marrow.  And that oxtail marmalade is so good!!!  Requests from all the diners to bottle it and sell!!

Salad Surprise – Arugula with yogurt cheese with herbs, butter cashew and pop rocks!  Very good! I love this salad!

Crab claws ( sipit ) with talangka

Lucky You!  You are lucky you are eating this! 🙂  Crystal noodles with herb oil to prepare you for the next dish

This dish is called lambada because according to Dedet “Mapapalambada ka sa sarap and spiciness of the dish!”  Sarap talaga!  A bit spicy but tolerable.  It’s spicy lamb kaldereta

Second and third new things are the two kinds of lechons she launched!  It is now wheeled in 🙂

Dedet and I were chatting with each other since we both went to San Francisco this summer and we both had the idea of making a Than Long Lechon!!!  I am so happy it came to life!!!

Listen to Dedet herself as she introduces her newest creation 🙂

[wp_youtube]-yL_N3RWkY0[/wp_youtube]

Dedet told me it took her 8 lechons before she got this perfectly. Than long noodles inside the lechon!! The first noodle lechon! 🙂

pepitas-launches-two-new-lechons-and-degustation-menu-17.JPG

Mini lechon platters to put your lechon!

Dedet separated the garlic butter sauce so that you put it on top of the noodles and lechon since the noodles tend to get dry inside the lechon- so you need to put this after

Little Pepita with nice beautiful long hair gave each of us ( and we were 20 ) in the table a massage!!!  She does it very well – Thank you Liyora!  Someone suggested I pair you with my Little Chef son haha!! 🙂

Pallet cleanser in between lechons – Sampaloc sherbet

Second new lechon – Lechon for the holidays- HAM LECHON DE LECHE!!!  Though the degustation comes only with one lechon, you can just add more lechons which will be additional charge 🙂

Chinese ham bits inside the lechon! SARAP!!!

It also has a sauce!

Cholesterol sweeper – We were so happy we were eating oatmeal!  Healthy!!  Then Dedet told us it was oatmeal with Ghirardelli white chocolate!  NO WONDER it was so good!! 🙂

Guinataan Brulee with layers of Carabao flan!  YUM!

Pepitas Super Suman!

Fourth new thing- TO GO MENU!  You can now order dishes aside from lechon!

 pepitas-to-go-menu-october-2013.jpg

Fifth new thing – Hayop Degustation goes to you in your home or venue!!!  Dedet can now cater starting next year!!!  She said she will start with small groups first.  Start reserving with Dedet already for next year!
