Lunch is included in the tour and Marina took us to Brasserie de Metropole

A Three star michelin chef comes by once in awhile to cook in the restaurant!

Beautiful interiors!  We had the whole place all to ourselves for lunch.  They say that its full at night

CHICKEN ALA KIEV!!!!!! We were so happy!! Too bad this was very small 🙂  but we really loved the food.  This was when we realized Russian food is not bad at all! 🙂

We arrived in the afternoon in St. Petersburg and scheduled our dinner which we imagined to be beside the hotel so we don’t need to travel too far.  The hotel recommended several restaurants – Chinese, Thai, Russian of course though we were skeptical since we heard that Russian food is not good! So we took the Italian route! 🙂  There were many restaurants nearby!  

A few blocks around the corner of the hotel we walked and funny to see Jamie Oliver that had just opened right beside the restaurant we went to.  How come the hotel did not recommend it? Maybe because it is newly opened

We went to Barbaresco 

Agai, From Farm to Table! 🙂 We loved the food in this restaurant!!!  We wanted to come back but we tried to discipline ourselves not to repeat and to try others!  Inside me I was hoping for Russian though since we were in Russia

Our last lunch meal in London and probably my best 🙂  Also our farewell to our dear friends, Suharto and Rina who have taken care of our family during our stay

Because we were a big group, we had to order the tasting menu which was fine!  We truly enjoyed!!! James and I always order different so we can taste the “or” 🙂

There is quite a big community of Arabs in London, so we saw a lot of Arabian cuisine around the city.  I was really hoping we could go to one but due to time constraint, we were not able to go to one with the family.  So on our last night,  James and I crossed the street from our place in Knighstbridge and had some Lebanese Cuisine!!!  When we crave for rice, we look for Chinese, Thai or a kebab place 🙂 This is dedicated to our good friend, Ned, who is Lebanese 🙂  Make sure when in London, try some Lebanese cuisine!

Lahem Meshwi – Tender Lamb cubes! SUPER YUM!!!!  We just shared this because it was a lot!  

One of the stops for the tour was Brindisa.  Brindisa is a store with all food products coming from Spain!  

 They are also known for their famous :-)chorizo roll which they sell in front of the store

We were only in London for a few days but I think we were here almost everyday! 🙂  

Glad that they are open everyday and not only on weekends  

We even had a map and itinerary included by my cousin, Ria, with some chosen stops.  

I had to separate from the group because I wanted to see each and every booth!

Cute booth!!! Heart cookies and cupcakes that look like Frozen yogurt swirls!  I love the icing on cupcakes and this cupcake has generous icing portions 🙂 and those Gigantic meringues!!!

This reminded me of my friend, the Paella Queen, Margie Sy 🙂  Really gigantic paelleras filled with different paellas

The highlight of our London Trip was seeing and spending time with our dear friends, Suharto and Rina

It’s been more than ten years since we visited them.  

In 2002, we came over for a few days and Quinto was still a baby!  

We stayed with them in their beautiful flat for a few days

And in this very hectic and short trip that we had, we were happy to spend some time with them.  We had one morning with them of sightseeing and reminiscing and then we were able to squeeze in a quick lunch!  

After meeting the Mayor, nearby were restaurants by the river and they took us to The Strada More London

Since we had little time, we had to order quick so we had many appetizers which I enjoyed the most!

Funghi al Forno!!  YUM!!! I really liked this!

and this Mozzarella di Bufala with Salsa Verde and foccacia croutons!  YUM!

Shared a pizza and received a panic call from Dad and Mom looking for us! 🙂  So we had to rush out!
