Visayan Room by Sandee Masigan

By | Foodie, Proud to be Pinoy! | 3 Comments

Due to the success of XO 46, they expanded their restaurant and put up Visayan Room which specializes in Visayan Cuisine!  – Cagayan De Oro, Bohol, Cebu, Dumaguete and Bacolod to name a few cities.

Previous entry:  XO 46 September 5, 2011

Sandee, the owner, told me that they really go to these places and really search for the best dishes and she said that they don’t go to the usual city restaurants but they go in the outskirts so they could try authentic dishes of the cities they are in.

Kudeta, Seminyak Bali

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

On our last night in bali, almost everyone drove down about an hour from the resort to go to Kudeta in Seminyak.  We were a bit late to see the sunset but it was still beautiful and very alive with music and a very nice ambience

Daily Breakfast at Sangkar, Bvlgari Resort Bali

By | Foodie, Travel | One Comment

Breakfast is included with the package and you can take it between 6 am to 10am.  It can actually be brunch already if you have a late breakfast 🙂

sangkar-breakfast-01.jpg

It’s the only time of the day where we see and meet with everyone so it was nice

sangkar-breakfast-032.jpgsangkar-breakfast-031.jpgsangkar-breakfast-026.jpgsangkar-breakfast-028.jpgsangkar-breakfast-035.jpgsangkar-breakfast-036.jpgsangkar-breakfast-043.jpgsangkar-breakfast-044.jpgsangkar-breakfast-047.jpgsangkar-breakfast-048.jpg

Oops!  Early birds who have eaten breakfast before any of us and are already swimming 🙂sangkar-breakfast-041.jpg

Handsome F & B manager always present and making sure everything is going well

sangkar-breakfast-045.jpg

I love the set up of the buffet breakfast!!!  It’s by the entrance in a black room – again a bit dark and dim lighting

sangkar-breakfast-02.jpgsangkar-breakfast-03.jpgsangkar-breakfast-04.jpgsangkar-breakfast-07.jpgsangkar-breakfast-010.jpgsangkar-breakfast-011.jpgsangkar-breakfast-012.jpgsangkar-breakfast-015.jpgsangkar-breakfast-016.jpgsangkar-breakfast-017.jpgsangkar-breakfast-05.jpgsangkar-breakfast-06.jpgsangkar-breakfast-037.jpgsangkar-breakfast-018.jpgsangkar-breakfast-019.jpgsangkar-breakfast-020.jpgsangkar-breakfast-025.jpg

Love the handmade placemats made out of leaves!!!

sangkar-breakfast-022.jpgsangkar-breakfast-021.jpgsangkar-breakfast-034.jpgsangkar-breakfast-024.jpg

Indoor seating

sangkar-breakfast-027.jpg

Or Outdoor with a beautiful ocean view!

sangkar-breakfast-033.jpg003393-01-hotel-exterior-pool-overlooking-cliff-beach.jpg

Aside from all that, you can order one hot item from the menu!!  So even if you are there for a few days, you can change your main dish

sangkar-breakfast-023.jpgsangkar-breakfast-029.jpgsangkar-breakfast-039.jpgsangkar-breakfast-030.jpgsangkar-breakfast-046.jpgsangkar-breakfast-040.jpg

So funny!  By the cliff there is a security guard watching out for monkeys, and on our last day at the resort, there was actually a monkey that came from the cliff and took some food from a Japanese woman’s table!!  I wish I had taken a photo of that moment, but I got scared when it happened 🙂

Karma Beach Bali

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

And we went to another resort to try other restaurants.  We went to Karma Beach

nammos-01.jpgnammos-02.jpgnammos-03.jpg

We were in Greece suddenly 🙂

nammos-04.jpgnammos-05.jpgnammos-06.jpgnammos-07.jpgnammos-08.jpgnammos-09.jpgnammos-010.jpgnammos-011.jpgnammos-013.jpg

Just like Bvlgari, you need to take a cable car to go down the beach

nammos-012.jpgnammos-014.jpgnammos-015.jpgnammos-016.jpgnammos-017.jpgnammos-019.jpg

We went for lunch and it was very very hot.  Though it was breezy- the sun was shining at noontime.  It would have been better to maybe stay upstairs

Sangkar, Bvlgari Resort Bali

By | Accomodations, Foodie, Travel | One Comment

There are two restaurants in the resort and Sangkar is the Indonesian restaurant.  I do not know what people are saying that the food in Bali is not good, but we had very good meals at Sangkar.  From the bar, it leads to the restaurant passing this beautiful bridge on water

sangkar-02.jpgblack-line.jpg sangkar-01.jpgblack-line.jpg

Sangkar means birdcage which explains the birdcages on the ceiling! Beautiful!

sangkar-03.jpgblack-line.jpgsangkar-04.jpgblack-line.jpgblack-line.jpgsangkar-05.jpgblack-line.jpgblack-line.jpg

Just like the other parts of the resort, light is minimal so I hope you can read the menu 🙂

sangkar-015.jpgblack-line.jpgblack-line.jpg

I love the way they serve the satay – it is on a mini grill on the plate and it was hot so the satay was warm until you actually eat it.  And of course there are all kinds of Satay
