Le Bistro D’ Agathe

By | Foodie | One Comment

I heard about this place from our friends, Mart and Sam and thought it would be a nice place for our next lunch with the group.  When I arrived it reminded me of a place we went to here before and apparently it was.  It was the old Fat Michael’s.

bistro-d-agathe-01.jpgbistro-d-agathe-02.jpgbistro-d-agathe-03.jpgbistro-d-agathe-04.jpg

A French guy, Chef Patrice, took over the place.  He used to run a restaurant in Puerto Galera and has decided to come to the city

bistro-d-agathe-016.jpg

A nice and cozy place, just like we were in our own home 🙂

Two notes from Lucille which she sent to us

lunchatbistrodagathe.jpglunchbistrodagathe.jpg

Chef Patrice says that he makes everything fresh except for the bread!  He can make french breads but it is just too time consuming for now.  And just like the real French Cuisine, Chef Patrice says he does not put any salt and pepper, you have to put your own

bistro-d-agathe-09.jpg

Brown bread!  A healthier aletnerative

bistro-d-agathe-018.jpg

There is an ala carte menu

bistro-d-agathe-015.jpg

Det who is on a Cohen diet, did not get the set menu instead she just ordered the Terrine, French meat loaf.  Which was good

bistro-d-agathe-022.jpg

Carbonara for everyone to share aside from our set meal

bistro-d-agathe-027.jpgbistro-d-agathe-019.jpg

And we all had the set menu which we find very reasonable.  It’s always good to have a set meal where you have a complete meal from starter to dessert

And Brenda had the Special Main course for the day

All desserts come without any sugar added.  They were good enough for us.  We appreciate healthy dishes nowadays especially with two of us having caner, one on a Cohen diet and the rest who have to lose some weight and eat healthier 🙂

The 11th Grand Wine Experience

By | Foodie | 3 Comments

Every year it gets better and better!!!!  This is my favorite so far!  I almost didn’t make it, but Mom went early and she told me to go!  For Mom to say that, I believe 🙂  It was in Resorts World Marriott Hotel, so I suspected that it would really be something different

There was a chef there chopping the chocolate and people were just grabbing and eating.  It was really really good!!!

Mr Jones Expansion at Greenbelt 5

By | Foodie | 2 Comments

After a yummy meal at Lusso ( Lusso by Gaita Fores October 2, 2011 ), Tita Ludette treated us in Mr. Jones which is a few steps away at Greenbelt 5

They had just expanded their restaurant and this is the extension side

mr-jones-expanded-017.jpgmr-jones-expanded-011.jpgmr-jones-expanded-07.jpg

Kids were full already so they just played with the games on the table

mr-jones-expanded-014.jpgmr-jones-expanded-03.jpg

It was the weekend before Halloween so there were still Halloween treats and decor

mr-jones-expanded-012.jpgmr-jones-expanded-04.jpgmr-jones-expanded-05.jpgmr-jones-expanded-06.jpgmr-jones-expanded-08.jpg

Dad tried the fried pickles – he was curious and the server said that even if you don’t eat pickles, you will like this dish.  I guess she was correct because even I ate it and I don’t really like pickles 🙂

mr-jones-expanded-09.jpgmr-jones-expanded-010.jpg

and even if I was full from dinner, I was itching to try the milkshake! I heard that they were known for their milkshakes

mr-jones-expanded-01.jpg

I had the intense coffee milkshake!

mr-jones-expanded-02.jpg

I almost finished that glass!!!!! I just stopped myself to control calories…but it was good!

The Cheese Steak Shop

Our good friend Newton sent me this yesterday

philly-cheesteak-manila.jpeg

James had told me about this last July but we never got to go.  But this is a good incentive! 🙂 So we went for lunch today!! You won’t miss it because there is a big banner outside the building facade

 dsc_7355.JPG

And there is a guy waving an arrow sign outside the parking 🙂

dsc_7393.JPG

I arrived a little before 12 noon and there were very little people

dsc_7359.JPG

and as soon as we were going to line up, suddenly there was a line!! So we ended up being at the end of the line! James even came earlier but he was taking his time thinking there were not much people.  And after us suddenly people started coming in

 dsc_7360.JPG

James introduced me to Cheesesteak when he was still studying in Philadelphia and it was love at first bite 🙂  I let him do the ordering since he is the cheesesteak expert

 classic-cheesesteak-philly-menu.jpgphilly-cheesesteak-specialty-sandwich.jpgcheesesteak-shop-salad-aa.jpg

He finally got to the counter and ordered at 12:10pm after which we were waiting for 30 minutes to get our order.  It took quite awhile for everyone to get their orders.  I suggest you go early and during non peak hours to avoid waiting and to avoid getting too hungry 🙂

 dsc_7367.JPG

While waiting we got our condiments 🙂

 dsc_7364.JPG

This arrived first – Bacon Cheesesteak – we gulped it down so fast!  I normally have a hard time finishing half but this was manageable for me. The one on promo was only the 7″ size which os their smallest size so I guess it’s perfect for me.   It was yummy!! James the cheesesteak expert said ” it’s okay and it’s soft bread”

 dsc_7374.JPG

Then our fries – twister fries and we ordered side order value meal of garlic fries with soda

dsc_7379.JPG

Then the free sandwich came which had mushrooms, onion and peppers which according to the staff – it is one of their bestsellers.  I personally don’t really like peppers too much – so I just removed the peppers and it was good!

dsc_7383.JPG

and someone was going around giving free pastries

 dsc_7389.JPG

frequency card

 cheesesteak-shop-promos.jpg

Hurry!! you can still go today and then til the 24th, thursday!
