Chef Javs

By | Foodie, For kids | 9 Comments

Javs tells us he wants to be a chef one day….we thought this was a passing thought because Javs loves to eat and we were not sure if he just bakes and cooks because he likes to eat what he makes…..however he has been doing this quite regularly and I am glad I documented most of his creations 🙂

I am just happy that he likes to do something and he enjoys it…and of course we all benefit from his culinary creations and so far, we all like it!  Who knows he might really become a chef one day…lucky us! 🙂

A Giant Chocolate Chip cookie! ( which was a bit over baked 🙂 )

Pancake with cream and nutella – he even has his own presentation 🙂 which we sometimes cannot figure out

He always makes one for Dada! and Dada of course always eats it…maybe not to hurt his feelings 🙂

Eating Together and Mongolian BBQ

By | Foodie | 7 Comments

Again, our Mom never ceases to amaze us!  She actually had a table made big enough to fit all of us in one table!!!    We are a big family of 18 including grandchildren.  Mom and Dad are really serious when they mean that we have to EAT TOGETHER! 🙂  So now Mom has her regular round dining table ( The Round Dining Table July 22, 2008) and she can switch and bring out her rectangle gigantic dining table to fit us all! 🙂

The family loves Mongolian buffet ( Crab and Mongolian BBQ Dinner  June 8, 2009 )  prepared by Mom!  It’s one of our favorites.  And being a big family, sometimes it is easier to prepare Mongolian and we enjoy it because we make our own concoctions.

By | Foodie, Homes and Interiors | One Comment

It’s been a year after Gil and Christine got married and they are presently at Boracay celebrating where they got married!  Why didn’t you invite everyone again to celebrate with you over there?  🙂

Happy First Year Anniversary guys!!!

Gil and Christine prepared dinner for us after constantly waiting for that invitation!  Here is a sneak peek at their dining room in their beautiful new home

dsc_8209.JPGdsc_8041.jpgdsc_8059.JPGdsc_8173.jpg

Christine took charge of all the accessories in their new home since Gil took care of designing the interiors.  So the place setting is all Christine’s choices which perfectly matches Gil’s taste – what a great match they make

TV in the dining room.  Christine told me that Gil really planned it well that it was built in the wall to fit the design of the place

And here they are….the happy couple 🙂

What a great idea by Christine! Her placecards were her scrabble pieces 🙂

Bizhan Persian House

By | Foodie | 6 Comments

About two months after Golden Spoon opened in Magallanes Gateway center, Bizhan’s Persian House opened!!!! Remember Mr. Kazemi?  ( Bizhan Kazemi July 31, 2008 ) Well, he now opened a restaurant and we are all very happy and excited! On the ground floor, there is a small nook for the shawarma for those how want a quick snack

p1160149.JPG

I am sure many of you know him as you may have seen him in the bazaars and children’s parties as he is famous for his shawarma!

As you enter the Golden Spoon door and get tempted to have a frozen yogurt :-),  just go up the stairs which will lead you to the restaurant

Pre Valentine Dinner at Cafe Ysabel

By | Foodie, Valentine's Day | 3 Comments

Around 3 dinners ago, Newton has been insisting we go to Cafe Ysabel to try this burger with foie gras

dsc_8003.JPG

So finally, we arranged our pre-valentine dinner and Paolo and Trina came all the way from the South and we came all the way from Makati through the traffic 🙂  to try this burger.  Only to find out that it was not available that evening!  🙂

But anyway, when we arrived, I felt like I was in highschool when James and I would date and go out for dinner

dsc_7955.JPGdsc_7966.jpg

It was very simple back then with menus that were straight forward…though they have some dishes that are a sort of fusion yet the place was kept as is…which was nice for a change in a world where everyone is becoming modern and fast changing.  The place reminded us of our highschool days and it was nice 🙂 They put us in the smoking area since everything else was reserved…

dsc_7961.JPGdsc_7960.jpgdsc_7959.JPG

Its a good thing our waiter moved us to this other area which became our private dining area.  We had them put the two tables together 🙂

dsc_7962.JPG

So here we are 🙂
