New at La Cabrera

By | Foodie | No Comments

And here are two out of the three guys behind La Cabrera 🙂 Carlo Calma Lorenzana and Bobby Tenchavez. Not in photo is another Carlo Lorenzana ( same name 🙂 ) Carlo and his wife Julia Quisumbing discovered La Cabrera when they were honeymooning in Buenos Aires.  Carlo and Bobby are business partners as well in Davao where they have Sumo Sam, Wine Kitchen and Munchtown. They also have a wine distribution company, La Garde, representing the best wines from Argentina. Good luck guys and more powerNew at La Cabrera (16)

Chef Juan Barcos. He came here in 2013 with the owner of La Cabrera to train and open the restaurant and now he’s back here permanently for good. He loves the Philippines. So be assured you have an authentic Argentinian chef when dining in La CabreraNew at La Cabrera (20)

Menu for the meal we had! ALL YUM!New at La Cabrera (2)

OMG!!!!!!! Chicharrones (beef chicharon) in La Cabrera @lacabrera_mnl – The fat and sidings of the beef which used to be off the menu and now in the menu!New at La Cabrera (18)

La Cabrera now has a bar menu!

Crispy sweetbreads with ancienne mustard, potatoes, honey and apples – YUM!  I think this is the only restaurant in the Philippines that serves sweetbreads

La Cabrera now has Executive Lunch Specials – This is the Entrana (250 grams skirt steak) from the Grill which comes with onion rings, cold side dish, side salad and brown rice or mashed potato for P 775.00

New at La Cabrera (23)

MENU EJECUTIBODE ALMUERZO/ Executive Lunch

There are 12 cuts of steak at La Cabrera. Each one caters to the different tastes of people – not everything is about marbling or fat. For those that like fat and marbling you will like the Rib Eye or Ojo de Bife.

Ojo de Bife Madurado 12 Dias ( 12 days wet aged).

New at La Cabrera (24)

If you are looking for lean ( yet tender) and go after flavor – I would suggest the Entrana – skirt steak  and the Cuadrille – couloirs/ Picana steak) which is one of their best sellers is tender and yummy. Then the Chorizo de Bife ( no photo) is in between the Skirt steak and Rib Eye in terms of fat and tenderness. Super love La Cabrera beef especially that it comes with hot and cold sides which really go so well with the steaks. YUM!

New at La Cabrera (25)

Super love sides – hot and cold – sweet and savory -at La Cabrera. And these all come unlimited and refillable together with the Grill menu. They used to have over 50 sides that they rotate but now they limited it to around 30. Still a lot!

New at La Cabrera (1)

Many are good but personally for me yummy ones from today are the artichoke pesto, mashed potato, corn with bacon, caramelized garlic

New at La Cabrera (8)

and the mushroom ragout – Yum!

New product of Olivia Aw of Disteleria Limtuaco at Madrid Fusion. Be the first to try Cacao Liqueur even before its out in the market. Yum!! Aaron said it’s not even yet the final packaging.

Intramuros liquer de cacao diteleria limtuaco Oliviers & Co had a booth in Madrid Fusion. It’s a French brand but it has some olive oils from Spain. Stop by and sample them. Check out Affiorato ( rising from the surface) La Premiere Huile from Spain by Oliviers & Co. This Extra virgin olive oil uses an ancient way of extracting extra virgin olive oil – They crush the olive a little and wait for the oil to rise. It is no longer being used as a technique because it’s labor intensive and it’s difficult to make a big batch. So this is a limited edition product til supplies last. Madrid Fusion Trade Exhibit (25)
