We went last Friday so it was not yet open but yesterday they opened to the public
Here’s the Ramen Bar 🙂 Interiors by Noel Bernardo
Soft opening Menu
In Japan Ramen bars, there are vending machines where you can choose your orders and push buttons and then you have to pay and get a receipt to claim your orders. Here there is a manual version 🙂 So the first step when you enter is to pay for your orders with the cashier
Then get your receipt/Claim stub which you have to give in the bar

James goes all the way to Alabang to have this. Tsukemen Tokusei which has a fish broth. I don’t really eat ramen but when I tried this, I liked it!!! I am slowly getting to like ramen every time I go with the Ramen boys 🙂

We also had dessert brunch at Marvie’s! Aside from meeting her Guinea Pigs and bunnies
Previous entry: Marvie’s Warehouse December 8, 2014
Marvie introduced me to one of her good friends, Elaine. They are golfing buddies including their husbands. I am so happy to meet Elaine and spend time with these two very nice and lovely ladies.

We had a nice dessert brunch in Marvie’s place at 10am
It was like we were having a degustation! haha!! But this time it was 4 dessert plates 🙂
Elaine Tadena de Jesus – the beautiful homebaker who prepared all the desserts for our brunch

Elaine used to be a singer in two girl bands, Tangerine and Sky. Of course i asked her to sing for us 🙂
It was when she got married, her husband, Tootsie, asked her to bake for him! During their trip to Turkey, they fell in love with Baklava and when they got home, Tootsie wanted more Baklava so he asked Elaine to learn how to make it! 🙂 “PUSHY HUSBAND!” haha!!! That is our joking term for him. So Elaine had to try many recipes until she perfected it. After that she baked other things and now it’s a business 🙂
White Chocolate Cheesecake – I call this a Giant Oreo! 🙂
A new creation and recently launch – Banana bread. YUM! So moist!
And here is the Baklava for Pushy husband, Tootsie 🙂 This is the cashew and it comes in Pistachio and Almonds
I love her platter 😉 She is married to a de Jesus but unfortunately we are not related. They are the de Jesus who owns a farm of chickens that lays the fresh eggs that goes into all the baked goodies of Elaine

Marvie served us a special Chinese tea to go with all the desserts we had

My friend, Carmina Mapa del Rosario, “the crazy cook” has a catering business in Davao!

She lives in Davao so I only get tempted by her photos in instagram! from her or from her very lucky husband, Don Durian! I am waiting till we can go to Davao and to be able to enjoy her cooking 🙂
But this Christmas she is bringing in to Manila some of her delicious concoctions and can be used in your parties or dinners or be given as gifts.

Kitayama Meat Shop carries these two items now so you can get them there too
Balbacua as explained by Carmina 🙂
“The story behind this dish comes from market vendors and butchers who would stew their unsold/leftover cuts and sell it as a soupy ‘ulam’ the following day. Raf and I love eating it so I thought of making this Southern Filipino dish richer and meatier by using imported oxtails and shanks. I braise it for 6-8 hours in ginger, ground peanuts, red peppers and an assortment of secret herbs and spices from Mindanao.
I was a bit surprised because in the beginning it was my family who just kept on ordering. And then in the past 3 months more people tried it and it now has a following from Manila foodies like JJ Yulo, Robbie and Angela Dinglasan, Carla Tengco, Itong and Richie Torres, and many more. Even Chefs like Bruce Ricketts and Marvin Agustin like it. (Or so they told me by text or IG!)
JJ described it as ‘the love child of kare-kare and callos’.”
Heart2Heart is always so happy to try new restaurants! Dining is not always about finding the best food. For me, experiencing new spaces, appreciating unique interiors, learning a new story about the founders of the place, trying new flavors, seeing unique food presentations and discovering even just a unique container for the sauces is always exciting for me!
We tried Dudell’s at the 3rd and 4th of the Shanghai Tang store in Dudell’s street 🙂 It’s very near the Landmark building. You come from the 2nd floor of Shanghai Tang and walk up a short flight of stairs to get to the restaurant
I love the place. It’s a more modern setting serving Chinese food. There are art pieces around the place for people to appreciate and of course to purchase if interested. It’s about Art and Food at Dudell’s
I love the unique tableware in the restaurant
The food was very good. I am sure there are many others, we just do not know what dishes would probably appeal to us. But those we ordered were delicious
Crispy Chickent fillet with Minced Shrimp in Sweet Lemon Sauce
Crispy Suckling pig – prepared the same way as in Lung King Heen! We tried all the suckling pigs in all the restaurants! 🙂
