My parents love crab!  So we asked Tats for a place that serves Alaskan King crabs and she pointed us to Jade Palace
Jade Palace (2)

So happy to see Tita Pauline Cang Fiennes and her kids Ivo ( 14 yrs) and Ned (16 yrs). We saw them in Manila a few days ago and now in Singapore. They used to live in Manila and lived 8 years in Singapore. Some trivia – Tita Pauline married Martin Fiennes who is the cousin of Ralph Fiennes the actor.  The parents of the husband of Tita Pauline is Lord and Lady Saye & Sele and they live in their castle in the UK – Broughton Castle Jade Palace (5)

So happy to see the daughter of my dad’s friend Tito Boni. Ciacia and her husband Gabby with their kids Isabel (1.5 yrs) and Pablo (3.5 yrs). Trivia again 🙂   Ciacia met Gabby when they were working in Procter & Gamble Manila then when they got married Gabby didn’t want to work in the same company 🙂  and resigned and moved to Johnson & Johnson. Then Ciacia was assigned to P&G Singapore and Gabby moved as well with J&J Singapore so they have been living happily here for 4 yearsJade Palace (6)

Singapore Polo Club

By | Travel | No Comments

Thank you to Randy and Tats for inviting us to the Singapore Polo Club!  It reminds me so much of the Manila Polo Club which is second home to us.  Singapore Polo Club (14)

So happy to see Randy and Tats Chan. They have been happily living with two kids in Singapore for 5 years now. They met in Australian and lived for a year in Moscow and 2 years in London and now Singapore because of Randy’s profession as a lawyer. Tats on the other hand is the big boss and Chief Representative of Banco De Oro here in Singapore. She opened the Rep office 3 years ago doing Business development. She told me that part of her job is taking care of clients and assisting them when they need anything in the Philippines. So in a way she’s indirectly promoting our country to the foreign clients.  Thank you Tats!  So she too knows a lot about restos, shopping etc in the Philippines and now.   She is a great resource for yummy places in Singapore…..And yes she is the daughter of the famous Teddy Boy Locsin 🙂   We are both Margarita so she is also my tukayo Singapore Polo Club (11)

Such an honor to meet “The happy reporter” ( accdg to Tats) news anchor of BBC World News, Rico Hizon. I’ve met my match – Rico – Rica 🙂  He wakes up 3am everyday making people happy early in the morning. We are also a match because he too believes in bringing good news.  He started in the Stock Market Live show for the Sarimanok Channel in the 90’s then was recruited by CNBC Business news for 7 years and worked for GMA 7 simultaneously. Until he became the first Filipino to be anchor in an international news channel! Last night, Quinto was so happy to meet Rico since he is a fan. They got along so well talking about video games. Rico knows about video games because of his 11 year old son. Apparently he is a “Tiger dad” and is very hands on in raising his only child. He is also an avid Philippine art collector and has been a Bencab collector since 1990. What an interesting guySingapore Polo Club (12)

Mt. Elizabeth Hospital Singapore

By | Health and Fitness, Travel | One Comment

I went to Singapore to have a medical check up.  We know Mt. Elizabeth because many friends and family go here for their medical check ups and procedures

Mt. Elizabeth Hospital Singapore (3)Mt. Elizabeth Hospital Singapore (2)Only to find out that most of the nurses and staff here are Pinoys!  70% of the nurses are Filipino. Nurse Kathleen has been here for 4 years already. I spent the whole day having a check up and feel right at home. It helps a lot when you know they give you special treatment being a “kababayan” Apparently many Filipinos have been going here to have their medical check ups and it’s amazing how efficient they are and how much they can accomplish in a day!

Mt. Elizabeth Hospital Singapore (5)

My entourage in the hospital 🙂  Pinoy na pinoy – the barrio tagging along wherever I went in the hospital – Husband and best friends Suharto, Rina and even Quinto came all the way to Singapore  to accompany me for a check up!!  I love them Mt. Elizabeth Hospital Singapore (4)

The next day – additional reinforcements – my Mom arrived So the barrio grew with Mom (and Dad) , husband James and best friend Rina ( and Suharto).  Some people have to come alone and go through their procedures alone but I am so so blessed and lucky I have people who are with me to support and help when needed. They are so fast here and it’s good that my family is here to help and assist with the requirements. And most importantly for moral support.   I’m a baby in this way and don’t mind the spoiling and having them with me.  So if they offer to accompany you – accept!! I even gave instructions that they have to be around during the procedure just in case!   I made my husband talk to the anesthesiologist so there’s no pain haha!! So grateful and blessed to have themMt. Elizabeth Hospital Singapore (6)

This is what I am scared of – This happened to James – 2 attempts missed and finally they got itMt. Elizabeth Hospital Singapore (7)

Apparently they don’t give you an anaesthesiologist in some cases unless you ask for it.  AN anaesthesiologist can put the needle better and with less pain so that is what the Hubby did and true enough it was done betterMt. Elizabeth Hospital Singapore (8)

Shopping in the hospital  Being in the hospital doesn’t have to be a sad affair.  Super love these shops

There is a Toast Box right across and it’s very busy.  This is a typical Singaporean breakfast – Coffee, egg and toast.  Rina ordered this

But this is what I could not resist!  Kaya Toast at Toast Box – that’s not ham and cheese! Guess what it’s is? – BUTTER! it’s only in the front portion though with coconut Jam and dip in soft boiled egg – a breakfast staple in SingaporeToast Box Singapore.

Swimming with the Jackfish at Miniloc Island Resort

By | Travel | No Comments

This trip, I made sure I checked out Jackfish at Miniloc.  My cousin, Nina, told me that this is one of the “Must” do things in Palawan.  I believe you can only come here if you are staying in one of the resorts of El Nido Swimming with the Jackfish at Miniloc Island Resort (3)

You can see a few jackfish already here.  They are big! 🙂  We came at around 1030am and they had finished feeding already so there’s not that much jackfish anymore 🙁  So best is to come early – I believe they have 2 feeding times in the morningSwimming with the Jackfish at Miniloc Island Resort (1)

Then you can swim with them 🙂Swimming with the Jackfish at Miniloc Island Resort (9)

Since we didn’t have a go pro camera, we had to buy the disposable underwater cameras and here are our photos 🙂
