Golden Century Sydney Part 3

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

First meal upon arrival is our favourite place!!!  This is part three because we ate here twice during our last trip.

Previous entry:  Golden Century Chinatown Sydney June 16, 2009

First stop is always the water tanks to see what they have that’s alive and swimming 🙂

The famous Pippies in XO sauce

The last time we were here, Chef Javs was only 9 years old and was hiding behind Tito Quits

But someone always has to do the ceremonial photo with the Tasmanian King crab, so now it’s Chef Javs carrying the crab 🙂

Which we have three ways – I prefer the first way which is fried and a second way for me would be just steamed or grilled since all the sauces are masking the freshness of the crab

Hotels in Sydney

By | Accomodations, Travel | No Comments

I will try to put some information that I know about some Sydney Hotels that we stayed in and visited.  Hopefully this can help some of you who are planning to go to Sydney.

When we went to Australia five years ago, we stayed at the Sheraton on the Park

Previous entry: Sheraton on the Park June 16, 2009

We walked by here this trip to check it out again.  It’s really a nice hotel because it is across Hyde Park

and St. Mary’s Cathedral

Gigantic chess game in Hyde Park 🙂

It’s so near all the shops – you can go around just by walking.  A few streets away is Darling Harbor already.  Three New York blocks down you reach the Rocks.

Five years ago this did not exist, but now it’s open – the Westfield Mall

This trip we tried another area which was by the Rocks.  We stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel. It’s the orange brownish building.  Behind it is the Shangri-la Hotel.  Location wise, I would prefer the Four Seasons because of the location. Location Location Location 🙂

I am noticing the good looking guys in the hotel 🙂

I love hotel lobby arrangements – this changed after a week to Easter which was even more beautiful  Previous entry:  Get Fluffy This Easter April 20, 2014

Love the chandelier by the front of the hotel doors

Love this restaurant, the Woods, which is just by the lobby.  It’s wood fired cooking

The Four Seasons Hotel always has goodies for the kids upon arrival – love! 🙂

The hotel is a bit “dated” but it was okay for me

This area has it’s own charm as well.  It’s more quaint shopping

There is also a church nearby – around 2 blocks away

There is a small park right across:-)

You are by the Rocks – just right across the hotel

Where the Museum is!!  LOVE!! 🙂
hotels-in-sydney-4.JPG

It’s so near the train station, the ferry boats ( which you take to Taronga zoo ) and where the cruise ships dock.  Walk further down and you are by the Harbor bridge.

The hotel in this photo is the Park Hyatt Hotel.  This is a hotel for those who want to have more privacy.  I heard that many VIPs and Stars stay here 🙂  The rooms are very nice and modern.

park-hyatt-sydney-luxury-sydney-hotel-in-the-rocks-20140512.jpg

They are quite strict with photography – you cannot take photos inside the hotel because of the privacy of the guests I assume! I felt so bad 🙁 James and Mom came back another day and they bumped into Cameron Diaz.  Since I was not there, no one of course took a photo!  We don’t believe unless there is proof, so I googled and true enough they were there! 🙂  They were in Sydney to promote their new movie, The Other Woman

I like the Rocks area – is more relaxed compared to being in the middle of the shopping district.  And you have different areas to view the Opera House

We were considering this hotel too but since we were booking last minute, we could not stay here.  It’s also very near George Street and the shopping district

Segragating when Unpacking

By | Green, Household Tips, Travel | No Comments

I love segregating 🙂 It really helps make things easier and more organised.  Even for the staff who will be the one to help pack them away

Previous entry:  Christmas Segragation December 5, 2013

When we arrive from a trip, the household staff know and they already prepare all these plastic bins.  I love them.  I bought them in Shopwise for  3 pcs. for P 99.00!!!  I have around 10 sets so maybe 30 pcs. of these and we use them around in the house for a lot of things.  One of them is this!

When I unpack, each and every item that comes out has a basket to go to:

1.)  For laundry  2.)  To return to the closets  3.)  For pasalubongs  4.)  For the office  5.)  Bilins  6.)  My personal stuff that I will pack away myself   7.)  For hubby  8.) For kids  9.)  for Kitchen

It makes all our lives so much easier 🙂

segragating-when-unpacking.jpeg

Last month I saw the same laundry baskets in Shopwise at Buy One Take one which is close to the using price I bought them at but I like to have the same colour in black – so once in awhile they have these promos and I love them!!  I like them also because when storing it is very easy you just stack them and they don’t take much space

What I liked in the bathroom was the toilet!!!  At first I did not want to enter and was wondering why they would put glass on the door!!!  Then I thought again that they would not do this so I just entered and tried to experiment and true enough as soon as you lock the door, the glass gets frosted!  AMAZING!!! Only the Japanese can think of these things!!
