We received news from the two lovely sisters Faith and Ana that Ken’s new branch in Bryant Park was opening!!! That was why we went to Bryant Park 🙂 We were happy to be in New York at that time and glad to send good wishes Store front The guy behind Royce USA, Ken Romaniszyn! We were so glad to bump into him there! I was really hoping he would be there so I could take his photo 🙂 Pretty Store manager, Marica Lucia Santiago, who is Filipina! New to me 🙂 And right beside the Royce store is Lady M! So we walked next door Here he is again! Ken started out as an investor in Lady M and eventually now is in full control. And it is because of him that Lady M has grown from one store to four stores! I heard there are many exciting locations in the pipeline!! Wow!! Heart2Heart fell in love instantly when we first tasted Lady M’s crepe Mille Feuille cake Previous entry: My Birthday Cakes April 24, 2007 Click below to go to their website [email_link]

Sunday family lunch with Lolo in New Jersey!! Yipee! 🙂 This was across the Ben and Jerry’s store in Ridgewood Too bad it was not a weekday! 🙂 According to Tita Tess this is the best dimsum place that she knows of in New Jersey 🙂 They also pass around bubble teas 🙂 After being away from family for about 10 days, I was happy to see some family especially my Lolo!! And we were able to celebrate Jaime’s birthday as well [email_link]
Love what they did in New York where you can now use the bike to go around!! Sponsored by Citibank! Economical, green, anti pollution, healthy and practical! I am so glad Jaime took it for a day – he is very independent so he just travels around the city – usually the bus or underground- but I prefer this 🙂 I saw the same thing in London! [email_link]
We were so happy to meet up with Raul, cousin of James! He was also in the USA helping his daughter settle down for school. We accompanied him to buy the mattress which Mia wanted. So Raul came from Brooklyn and we met up. Mia wanted a specific mattress – futon – which was available only in Miya Shoji in New York! [wp_youtube]XmO1kaNi3as[/wp_youtube]
The shop really sells furniture- Japanese chests, tatami and tables and Japanese screens. Happy to meet the owners- Father Hisao and son Zui. Miya Shoji means temple carpenter so they make furniture using the old Japanese way without any nails! They assemble the furniture without nails Petrified Wood Coffee table US$ 12,000 If I am not mistaken this is a 300 year old stone – US$ 8,000 for this one! US$ 80,000 for this beautiful table More beautiful pieces of wood ready to be made into furniture Futon is just an accessory they sell with the tatami. Papa Raul happy to grant the request of Mia and make sure she sleeps comfortably 🙂 Click below to go to their website for more info [email_link]
We discovered this new way to travel within Manhattan. Since we usually take taxi cabs, we noticed that it is getting harder to hire a cab in the city and each cab has different conditions – with aircon, without, friendly cab driver, unfriendly cab driver etc etc. We tried UBER to see and compare. First is to download the App in your phone Click on it and it will show where you are and the UBER cars roaming near you. You can even choose your type of car depending on your budget and requirements We chose Black car and it says how long till the car will get to you approximately Here is the actual test that we did and it even showed who your driver is and plate number Here it is 🙂 It is a little more expensive than the yellow cabs but the car is much much better, the ride is safe and comfortable and more pleasant Click below to go to their website: I saw this in Facebook and wondering if it is the same service [email_link]
We were so happy to meet up with the New Yorkers 🙂 Jerome chose the place and so we met up at Foragers. On the ground floor of the hotel is a wine shop, grocery and restaurant The trend now is really from Farm to Fork or from Farm to Table 🙂 Super nice, smart and handsome New York bachelor – Jerome Super pretty New York Real Estate Broker – Samantha Super sweet New York couple – Caloy and Ria Another trendy dish – Porchetta Crispy Tempura Soft Shell Crab Click below to go to their website: [email_link]
