Sra Bua Siam Kempinski Hotel Bangkok

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

We wanted to stay in this hotel as it is relatively new.  I also heard from our friends Steve and Cherina that it was a nice hotel.  But since we were booking very late, it was already full.  The hotel is at the back of the Paragon mall which to me is a great location 🙂  You have access to the mall which has shopping, other restaurant choices and the MTR

We ate in their Thai restaurant and to me this was my best meal for the whole trip

Cold lemon grass juice which was very refreshing

sra-bua-siam-kempinski-013.jpgsra-bua-siam-kempinski-016.jpg

The menu- you have a choice whether you want a 6 or a 9 course meal.  The choices are the same for both meals but you just get more by choosing the 9 course.  Everyone gets the first page which is the nibblings, Street cooking 1 and Street cooking 2

The next hotel right beside the Four Seasons is the St. Regis Hotel.  We had our New Year’s even dinner celebration here.  It was full so we got a table for 9pm already.  Zuma has several branches worldwide

Bangkok Market

By | Shopping, Travel | One Comment

As soon as we arrived in Bangkok, Mom and I went to Chatuchak Market.  We arrived Sunday noon time so we did not want to miss the weekend market.  I was feeling bad I missed the Chiang Mai Saturday market and felt I could have bought more things there than here and at more reasonable prices.  Here are some shots I took

bangkok-market-01.jpgbangkok-market-02.jpgbangkok-market-03.jpgbangkok-market-04.jpgbangkok-market-05.jpgbangkok-market-06.jpgbangkok-market-07.jpg

I love these lights 🙂

bangkok-market-08.jpgbangkok-market-09.jpgbangkok-market-010.jpg

for my dad, I know he likes these things

bangkok-market-011.jpgbangkok-market-012.jpg

Mom and I were wondering if this was the real saffron- it was very cheap so maybe not 🙂

bangkok-market-013.jpg

In the art section- cute these miniature paintings

bangkok-market-014.jpgbangkok-market-015.jpg

Mom and I had not eaten lunch since we arrived and we were getting dizzy at around 3pm so we went to one of the stalls and we had Thai iced tea, Pad thai and Mango sticky rice!  Very good!!!!

bangkok-market-016.jpgbangkok-market-017.jpgbangkok-market-018.jpg

There is a new place called Asiatique and it had just opened – Just take the MTS to Sathorn- then you will see free boat rides going to Asiatique- It opens at 5pm til midnight

bangkok-market-019.jpgbangkok-market-020.jpgbangkok-market-021.jpgbangkok-market-022.jpgbangkok-market-023.jpgbangkok-market-024.jpg

The place is so alive with so many people, many shops and many restaurants!  They had similar shopping stalls as Chatuchak though I liked the ambience here better

By | Accomodations, Foodie, Travel | No Comments

Heart2Heart was so happy to be back in Bangkok after a long time.  From Chiang Mai, we stayed a few days in Bangkok.  The Four Seasons hotel is centrally located – you can walk to the malls- Paragon, Central World and Siam Discovery –  for a few blocks or for just a short walk you have access already to the MTR
