The Pink City and the City Palace of Jaipur

Jaipur is called the PINK CITY

because in the old city, all the structures are pink! The kind of pink they are talking about is a peach or salmon kind of pink. Which explained why the carpet people were showing me peach or salmon colored carpets when I kept asking for pink carpets! haha!! We were not understanding each other so i ended up not buying any pink carpet! 🙂

That is just a facade! As our tour guide Raj kept reminding us 🙂

We visited the City Palace where the Royal family still lives in. Due to heavy taxation, they converted the ground level into a museum. They did not allow photo taking in the museums so I have no photos, but they have a beautiful collection being exhibited – Textile, armors, doors, miniature paintings, etc

Lunch at The Raj Palace Hotel

Only eat at hotels! That is the instruction 🙂 So the tour bus took us to this hotel for lunch

It was very peaceful, not many people

Indian food again! Yipee! 🙂

Take note of the Maharaja’s Special health Potion for dessert. It is 31,000 rupees which is around P 23,000.00. We obviously didn’t order that! 🙂

Tito Joe loves ice cream so this is his 🙂

Jantar Mantar Observatory Jaipur

In the olden times, when you are King or Emperor, you can have anything built- and during those times, no one really questioned, they just followed. Looking back, we now appreciate what these kings and emperors built because these structures cannot be built anymore in the same scale.

Lunch at Dera Amer

After the elephant trek, they took us to this place to have lunch 🙂 It is included in the package

Sweet lime juice and sweet lassi!! YUM!!

there was a tent beside it with a guy making Naan bread!

Indian food!!! YUMMY!! It’s been a week and we still love the Indian food!!

Dera Amer

We didn’t ride the elephants at the Amber Fort but we went to Dera Amer instead

The owner of Dera Amer, Udaijit Singh. He also starred in the movie Far Pavilion

I am scared to go near the elephants 🙂

We had a private elephant ride 🙂 Peaceful and quiet. We realized how slow the elephants move and that’s how they used to travel in the olden days! I was a bit scared because we were so high! If that elephant decides to dance or something… yikes! 🙂

Amber Fort Complex Jaipur

It’s go go go for the tour group 🙂 Day 7 and we are still on the go and excited to see what’s next and what other surprises we will be receiving. For me, these are all blessings being poured over us. The opportunity and chance for us to experience and see the many beautiful things around us- it’s just overwhelming and seems like a dream! But thank you Lord for this wonderful blessing and for bringing us to India!!
