Ayala Land 25 Stories Francis Felipe

By | Tributes | No Comments

Last December, I featured my brother, Noey Lopez, as one of the Ayala Land 25 Stories.

Previous entry:  Ayala Land Features Noey Lopez and Starbucks December 7, 2013

Today I am happy in tears to see this version!!!

Thank you to my friend, Maritina Romulo, for sharing this other video with me!!!  This is my favourite video out of the 25 because it proves that you don’t have to be such a high profile personality,  or be a magnate, or be a rich person, or be the President of the country to be recognised for your efforts and to make a difference in the lives of many.  Thank you Ayala Land for choosing Francis!!!  I  featured him when I saw him last year in May when I ate in Prince Albert

Our family loves Francis and we grew up with him and with Prince Albert ever since I can remember.

To my friend, Maritina, Let me say that many people are proud to serve your grandfather, Carlos P. Romulo, but I am very sure, Francis treated every single customer as if they were General Carlos P. Romulo.

And it’s true Francis, We go to Prince Albert because of you 🙂  And you will always be an icon at the Intercontinental Hotel and Prince Albert will always be remembered together with you

Yaya Cion

By | Foodie, Recipes, Tributes | No Comments

Heart2Heart will not be complete without this woman who our family all loves! Yaya Cion was hired 48 years ago to be the Yaya of my Tita Tess who was only 2 years old. She went with the family to Italy when my Lolo Benny became Ambassador to the Vatican. She learned how to cook Italian food and until now we look forward to her yummy cooking. I ?? her even more when she always gives me baon to take home after the meal. Today she’s cooking me oatmeal for breakfast 🙂 Last Aug 15 ( Feast of the Assumption) she turned 78 🙂 Happy birthday Yaya Cion WE LOVE YOU!

I caught her making pochero that morning.  The family sometimes makes her cook some of our favourite dishes.  She will just tell you the ingredients that she needs and when you ask her how much is her fee, she says “Ikaw ng bahala” 🙂  I know that she does not really teach people her recipes but when I was talking to her that day, I told her that she has to teach them to someone and she said, ” Tinuturo ko sila pero hindi nila magaya” 🙂

I discovered a secret thing she did while she was cooking pochero – I asked her what that thing was with the bone – apparently she put the Jamon bone!  She gets it from the leg of Jamon which my Lolo buys and serves for himself and for the family and she keeps the bone and uses it to flavour the pochero and maybe other dishes too 🙂  yaya-cion-6.JPG

Ready to go!  Sauce will be on the side when it gets to the venueyaya-cion-7.JPG

I told you she always gives me baon!!!  She set aside a few pieces of pochero to take home!!  Oops I hope Tita Nena does not get mad – this was her Pochero 🙂yaya-cion-8.JPG

Bea De Leon

By | Sports, Tributes | 7 Comments

Volleyball is becoming popular nowadays!  When I was in the States last year, my friend Triccie told me that her daughter was into volleyball.  Then here in Manila, my friend Det’s daughter is also a Volleyball player.  And this young and pretty and tall lady, Bea De Leon is making waves already in UAAP volleyball!

Bea is the daughter of my friend, Det!  I am claiming fame as early as now that I know the Mom of Bea De Leon!! 🙂  Det is a proud Mama and she told me that Bea has a following already.  She has fans sending her messages and fan mail and also sending her gifts to show their love for her 🙂 Look how tall Bea is!! I like this photo because it shows how gigantic Bea is!  Det is already tall and Bea is much taller than Mom! 🙂

“Today I give recognition to two people who are  vital instruments to the success of Posh Nails.  I give thanks to Rico and Faye who have stood by me through life’s ups and downs.  Together we have missed family days, worked till midnight, gone on back to back out of town meetings with no rest, caught the flu together and sacrificed Sundays and even holidays just to provide top notch service to all our clients and franchisees who continue to believe in us all these years.  Thank you for the hard work, time and effort you have invested in Posh Nails.  Indeed it is all worth it.

By | Tributes | No Comments

We went to Cebu to pay our respects to the uncle of James, Former Vice Mayor of Cebu City Renato Osmeña, the brother of Jame’s Mom.  He was Vice Mayor from 1995 to 2001 and also councillor from 1986 to 1994.  A very well respected man and served his beloved city and people.  God bless Uncle Nato and may his soul rest in peace

We joined the 9th day mass at the Chapel of Holy Relics
