A TRIBUTE TO “LA PISCINE” – DAZZLING SUNLIGHT AND RARIFIED SENSUALITY

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO PRESENTS SPRING/SUMMER 2011 ADV CAMPAIGN

For the Spring Summer 2011 advertising campaign, Ferragamo reiterates its link with the Big Screen through images shot photographer Mikael Jansson that reinterpret the seduction and bohemian spirit from the classic French film, “La Piscine”, the source of inspiration for the season’s collections.

The story is told through a series of poolside images that convey sensuality and seduction. Dominated by summer sunlight, the photos evoke the type of languid, luxurious summer holiday expected of the Salvatore Ferragamo jet-set couple.

Just as in Jacques Deray’s 1968 film starring Alain Delon, Jane Birkin, and Romy Schneider, the campaign shots describe a sophisticated poolside seduction, with the natural allure of the protagonists’ tanned bodies, the lazy spontaneity of utter relaxation, the casual elegance of a cocktail at sunset and embraces in evening attire before a part on the beach. The feeling of this refines summer holiday is distinctive through elegant details and looks pit together with nonchalance and ease.

Supporting roles are played by Ferragamo accessories; bags with natural textures, sandals in leather and raffia, ultra-flat slave sandals, bijoux like talismans, exclusive wristwatches and stylish sunglasses, icons of the Brand. Impeccable summer elegance in ivory and white with touches of navy blue for him, while she favors an eclectic style that combines bohemian elements with ultra-chic pieces – crocheted knits, silk mini-shorts, safari jackets, gossamer-fine flounced dresses and knotted headscarves.

Stylist Anastasia Barbieri worked with Mikael Jansson on the campaign, shot in Ibiza in early November. The campaign features models Daria Werbowy and Clement Chabernaud. Accomplice to the shoot was the sunlight, which emphasized the atmosphere and the models’ look at every moment of the day – discreet and inviting in the morning and soft and caressing at sunset. It creates plays of light and shadows on faces and warms the natural leather textures of the accessories, while enhancing the whites and ecrus of the clothes.

Following the design of New York-based designer Stephan Jaklitsch, the 65 square meters shop imbibes a sensual and dramatic approach to modernism. Clean lines are softened that elicit feelings of warmth, drama, and luxury. The new store design definitely provides a more inviting and unique experience for Marc Jacobs shoppers in the metro.

To launch the newly renovated store was an evening of retro fun and glam featuring Marc Jacobs’ Spring Summer 2011 collection. This season’s collection takes inspiration from Naomi Campbell’s party in Cannes, New York Dolls, and the movie Taxi Driver and Eastern Tinges.

With a hedonistic summer night 70’s theme, the latest collection includes wide-legged pants, boy-shorts, belled sleeves,  satin dress, printed jackets, haltered dresses, strapless jumpsuits, accessorized with obi like belt, oversized straw hats, and orchids as necklaces and hairpieces. A pop of bright colors also dominate the theme fitting for the hot summer season with electric orange, mustard, violet, fuchsia and crimson shades.

The store will showcase Marc Jacobs’ signature and favorite handbags like the iconic lamb leather double-stitched quilted bags with gold finishing hardware. From day to night the Paradise, Wellington, Baroque, Quilting Groups collections offers casual sporty shapes to elegant clutches and bags with chain straps perfect for any occasion. The most fashionable guests for the evening as well were recognized and given Marc Jacobs’ fresh, playful, and alluring Daisy perfume. The most stylish ladies of the evening were: Mia Borromeo, Pauline Juan, Alyanna Martinez, Sandra Seifert, and Jessica Tan-Gan. The launch of the new store included notable guests such as Marc Jacobs’ Regional Director of Asia Pacific Emmanuelle Mace-Driskill, Marc Jacobs Retail Brand Manager Serena Ghim, and some of Manila’s fashionable ladies and gents including Tech Hagedorn, Stephanie Zubiri, Cris Albert, Randy Ortiz, Sara Azimi, Richard Tiu and Frederick Peralta.

It’s a printed matter!

We kick off this summer with color and prints (lots of it!). For Rustan’s Culte Femme, bold color is the new black this summer. As fashion flashes back to the decade of 1970s this season, we are offering you our hand-picked favorites inspired by this era. Aside from bold color choices, the retro vibe was amplified by an explosion of prints and patterns. There is also a bit of a tropical feel to the collection – it is for summer, after all – with palm-tree prints in full skirts to match ruffled camisoles. Our newest muse is a sexy and smart pin-up girl clad in 70s prints and silhouettes. She is bold when it comes to her color choices. Two prints at a time are very wearable when worn together either by a unifying element: by color or silhouette (or both!). We wanted to make it more modern by mixing up the looks more.
