Gardens By the Bay

This is now my favourite place in Singapore!!!  My friend Rina has been telling me about this but we never had time to go!  We were able to pass by this trip for a few hours and it is worth the visit!!

gardens-by-the-bay-50There is no charge to go around the outside gardensgardens-by-the-bay-29 Since we arrived at 5pm already and had an hour left before our dinner reservations, we just took the audio tour which takes 20 minutes to go around the outside gardens.  There is a fee for this 🙂  It’s a big area so we would not have had the time to walk it all.  The ride does not stop so you cannot see the individual gardens.  It is just to see more or less the different gardens and a glimpse of the gardens.  We still need to go back to see each garden gardens-by-the-bay-30The trolleygardens-by-the-bay-32Singaporeans really take their landscaping seriously.  Even if it is such a small country, they allot a lot of space for greenery and it is beautifully done

The main entrance has 3 Super Trees
gardens-by-the-bay-34 There are 2 domes in the Gardens – the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest.  These have entrance fees.  We have to go back since we did not have time to see it during the day.  We saw the Flower Dome at night which was also beautiful  gardens-by-the-bay-35 gardens-by-the-bay-36Beautiful views all around the Gardens

CREATED BY MARC QUINN
The Meadow
White painted bronze, stainless steel
A hefty seven tons, this impressive bronze sculpture is 9m long and 3m tall. It portrays an oversized reproduction of the artist’s own son, Lucas, as a baby. The sculpture’s weight is masterfully balanced on the infant’s right hand, creating the illusion that the sculpture is floating in the air. Created in 2008, the sculpture was exhibited for the first time at the Beyond Limits exhibition of contemporary sculpture at Chatsworth House, then later at the 2012 The Littoral Zone, at the Musee Oceanographic in Monaco. ##GardensByTheBay #H2HSingapore #H2HArtgardens-by-the-bay-42

Contadina X Nigella

Everyone can cook and it’s in its simplicity that the best dishes are made if you use the freshest and finest ingredients that bring out the delicious taste in food.   A perfect match #ContadinaXNigella

Simplicity. Fresh. Quality.  Trustworthy. Credible.  Authentic.  Sincere. All the qualities that Contadina and Nigella Lawson @nigellalawson have in common. Contadina will be available nationwide starting October 7. #Contadina #ContadinaXNigella #NigellaLawson #DelMontecontadina-x-nigella-4  We all cooked with Chef JP Anglo @chefjayps Daphne Oseña Paez @daphneop and Stephanie Zubiri Crespi using Nigella Lawson’s @nigellalawson recipes. We had a fun afternoon using Contadina products #ContadinaXNigella #Contadina #DelMonte #NigellaLawsoncontadina-x-nigella-3  Heart2Heart loves @chefjayps because he always promotes Filipino cooking. He added a Filipino twist to Nigella Lawson’s pasta with squid recipe and it was so good!

It was so good his recipe won!  He used Contadina diced tomatoes and Arrabiata pasta sauce and added lemongrass, goat cheese, queso de bola, lemon and squid. Nigella, who has sold over 10 million copies of her cookbooks worldwide, learned her ways in the kitchen through experiencing the world around her. “I am not a chef”, she said, “I am not even a trained or professional cook. My qualification is as an eater.”

It was during this time in Italy where she worked as a chambermaid in Florence that she learned how to cook. She would sneak down to the kitchen of the pensione and watch the old Nonna whip up a hearty meal.

As the country that awakened and nurtured her love for food, Nigella fell in love with Italy. The abundance of fresh and quality produce helped shape her food philosophy of using only the best ingredients because it makes a big difference in the taste of the final dish. This is consistent with Contadina’s philosophy.

The quality that Contadina brings lies in its ingredients’ origins — olive oils made with Hojiblanca olives, handpicked from the groves of Andalucia, Spain, canned tomatoes made with sweet, luscious Roma Tomatoes from the fields of California, pasta made with 100% Canadian Durum Wheat Semolina known for its fine texture and creamy color straight from the western prairie provinces of Canada, and pasta sauces using authentic Grana Padano cheese and Italian herbs creating a very fresh and flavourful taste that can only be expected from a true Italian-made sauce.contadina-x-nigella-1Cooking with Passion

Contadina is perfect for culinary enthusiasts who bring passion into their cooking – those who understand that the rich and authentic medley of flavours can only come from the finest ingredients.

Likewise for Nigella, it is evident in how the renowned culinary icon imbues passion for food. Although there are some rules when it comes to cooking, Nigella says, “I think it’s very important to be able to trust your own instinct, and cook in a way that pleases you, whatever you say!”

It’s not fancy techniques or a huge amount of components that make the dish. Her partnership with the Contadina brand is premised on a single proposition: “For my cooking, I have no secret ingredients. I make sure I use the ingredients that are best for me. That’s why I’m proud to be partnering with Contadina.

Gucci’s GG Marmont Handbag

By | SSI Group Inc | No Comments

The GG Marmont is a design inspired by a buckle that was used by Gucci in the Seventies. It’s distinctive GG detail is one of the House’s strongest and most recognisable symbols. But though the roots of this bag lie in the House archive, the twenty-first century version of the GG Marmont is decidedly synonymous with the aesthetic world of Creative Director Alessandro Michele.

In this new version of the GG Marmont the GG motif appears as the main ornament. The new handbag is an evolution of the original style, featuring softer construction. The models of GG Marmont range from shoulder bags in three sizes to tote bags and camera cases. All come with brass chain shoulder straps featuring a leather detail. And all combine functionality with femininity.gucci-gg-marmont-handbag-1Materials used are calf leather, velvet and crocodile. There is quilting on the smooth calf leather styles – either in a chevron or a cubic design, the latter with the addition of studs. Chevron quilting is also a feature on some of the velvet styles.gucci-gg-marmont-handbag-4The colour palette includes a multitude of hues: black, mystic white, hibiscus red, pink intense, yellow, fuchsia, peacock and dark emerald. There are also models using a combination of colours, notably black and mystic white.gucci-gg-marmont-handbag-3gucci-gg-marmont-handbag-2Linings are in beige-coloured microfibre for the leather models, beige nappa leather for the crocodile models and peony-coloured silk for the velvet models.

The metallic elements – notably the GG motif itself – are in antiqued gold, and there is a ‘quilted’ heart detail or GG design on the backs of some of the chevron-quilted bags. For the shoulder bags the closure is a pin closure with a side button, while the totes have a hidden magnetic closure and the camera bags a zip closure.

As well as coming in a myriad of colours, materials and styles, the GG Marmont has been designed with practicality in mind and, depending on the model in question, features zippered or open pockets inside.

In the Philippines, Gucci is located at Greenbelt 4 and Shangri-La Plaza East Wing. Follow @ssilifeph on Instagram for more information.
