Ramen in Sapporo

There are ramen streets in Sapporo but they say it is touristic so we did not go to any of the streets There is a Ramen place in Esta building which is right beside our hotel JR Tower and supposedly all the best ramen places in Hokkaido are all here!!We went to one and Kai had a bowl Chasu Miso Ramen and she said it was good! 😉

Chocolate Party at Daimaru Sapporo

Valentine Chocolate Collection Daimaru. Valentine’s Day is big in Japan. It’s the ladies that give chocolate to the men. On the ground floor they put a pop up Chocolate stall selling all kinds of chocolates from all over the world!! Sampling 🙂 Go up to the 7th level and there is a whole section with all the chocolate brands!!! Good idea!! CHOCOLATE PARTY!!! This will be one of my theme parties 🙂

Snack Hoarders

I am a snack monster! I love snacks! I always have snacks with me wherever I go. So on the way to Niseko, I brought some snacks from Manila plus we bought some from the airport. The Lapids chicharon is pasalubong brought by Carmina for the hotel staff 🙂

Thanks to the refrigerator and freezer in Shiki, you can put plenty things inside! This is all Carmina’s! 🙂 The small freezer below was filled with ours! 🙂 The first thing my hubby got for me! How sweet 🙂 But he ended up eating it since he is the one who likes chocolate! haha

I thought I was the ultimate snacker! But I found out that all the girls in the NISEKREW #nisekrew group love snacks too!!! SNACK HOARDERS!!! 🙂 Carmina made sure she brought all the snacks on the bus! And in the bus, others had their own snacks which they were sharing!I noticed that Carmina buys a lot of food!!! I am so glad she is my roommate ! 🙂 But Jackie apparently buys a lot too!!!! She she bought this in Otaru and shared it with us! The famous Chocolat Blanc! A MUST in Hokkaido!!! Thank you again Jackie @jaxcantonio for sharing. I should stick with you so I don’t have to buy na. I tried this in Manila last month but the white chocolate was melted. It’s better to eat it in Hokkaido when it’s cold and with matching -5 degrees weather and snow falling 🙂 Yummy smoked cheese in Nikka Distillery from Marco and Jackie too!! It’s small sausage shaped smoked cheese and so YUM! Serious shoppers at the Nikka Distillery – Jancis @jancislao Cherina @cheriris and Raj @7tri7 who brought his Rimowa @adoramnl handcarry to put all his loot Shopping at the back of the taxi! 🙂 Lindy’s stash!!!! Jackie’s stash! Jackie’s stash of Winter clothes!!Not only snacks but winter clothes! She’s a hoarder of anything!! haha!! Some interesting snacks I saw this trip! There are many but I was not able to take photos! Too many in Japan!

The Art of Living Foundation, one of the largest volunteer based international organizations aiming to transform societies through educational and humanitarian projects, made a pressing call for support to help raise funds to send the award-winning cultural performers from the Buyogan Festival to the World Culture Festival (WCF) on March 11-13, 2016 in New Delhi, India, where 3.5 million people worldwide are expected to join.

The Participation of the highly talented Buyogan Festival dancers from Leyte in this groundbreaking event is seen as a springboard to place the Philippines in a global spotlight as they showcase Filipino talent and artistry while rising again from the devastation brought by Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).

Le Tao

NISEKREW LOVES MILK KOBO in NISEKO and LE TAO in OTARU!!!! Chut called this the BEST CHEESECAKE In the WORLD and wow it is! I just don’t want you to expect too much so I tried not to call it that. But it is really so yummy!!

So lucky to have travelmates that share their snacks and LeTAO cheesecake!!! Thank you Jackie for sharing your stash!! It even came with fresh Japanese strawberries

Thank you to #nisekrew Raj @7tri7 and Kai @kaisterprimo for sharing your loot toot!! Langue de Chat Au Fromage!! ? Yum!!!!!!!! If there’s Tokyo Milk from Tokyo there’s Le Tao from Otaru For some reason we were not able to go to Le Tao in Otaru where it is really from. But have no fear, it is available in Daimaru right beside our hotel! 🙂 You can have the Double Fromage cheesecake by the slice! 🙂 Here it is up close – everyday I dream of this! 🙂 Here it is as a whole cake There is chocolate and strawberry but the plain is the bestseller Everything looked good!!!! Double Fromage Cheesecake in Valentine mode!!! LOVE!! I wish I could try everything!!!

I did not see the cheese cookie in Daimaru – I may have just missed it!! But there is a lot in the Chitose airport!

So if you miss LE TAO in Daimaru too – there is a lot in the Chitose airport! MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT MISS IT THIS TIME!

Otaru Light Path Festival

In 2005 we also went to the Otaru Light Path Festival so it’s nice to be back! Look up when you get to the train station 🙂 In a shopping street! LOVE!!! Those are made of ice You will see many lighted ice sculptures all over the place The main area is the walkway by the Canal Otaru Canal with floating lights/candles Plenty hearts!!! From the other side of the canal Shops around the area are all decorated Plenty snowmen 🙂 Funny sign! Otaru is known as the “Town of Glass” for its many glassmakers and craft shops along Sakaimachi Street. An incredible selection of crafts are available, from simple souvenirs to gorgeous works of art. ( Otaru.jr.jp) Aside from the canal, there is another path which is more romantic 🙂 You can walk through this pathway 🙂 Since no one was with us, I asked James to line up with me so we could have our photo here. All the photo ops are with lines! Oh no!! Not clear photo taken by the guy manning the display :-O Apparently Steve, Cherina, Pat and Jancis were passing by and they caught us! haha!! Good thing Steve took a photo so we have this! Everytime we see soft serve we get!!! Even in the height of winter!!! Super cold! Super yum! Another store More choices!! but I ended up getting only the Hokkaido milk! I regret not trying the condensed milk with strawberry YUM!!!!!

Otaru Snow Light Path is a winter tradition in the port city of Otaru where the streets are decorated with a myriad of snow candles. The main venues are the historic canal and the former Japan National Railways Temiya Line. During the event period, there are also tickets on sale which let you enjoy eating sushi, sweets or noodles inexpensively as you walk around. Enjoy it together with the dreamlike scenery.
