During my visit to Hi Precision Diagnostics in Powerplant mall I bumped into Birang Wong.. Not only Birang but 55 year old Birang with a baby!!! I had to look twice to check if it was really her!   Apparently she has been fostering babies since 2009 and this is already her 4th baby! She used to volunteer for CRIBS and this is how she got into it. She told me that she gets them at around 4-6 months and when the adoption papers are ready then she turns them over to the parents. They usually get them at age 1.5 and up. She gets only girls because she says she doesn’t know how to take care of boys 🙂 Fostering also means supporting the financial needs of the baby – or any need for that matter.  So she was in Hi Precision for the check up of the baby

The first baby went to Los Angeles then Vienna Austria and Pampanga. The 4th one is named Nina and was found in Sto Nino church in Baclaran. The babies are named after the place they were found and their family name is from the social worker or the one that found the baby. She says it’s hard when separation time comes but it’s fulfilling to care for a baby with a parent that fosters and ?? her as she grows up. What a good friend I have! And now she’s giving me ideas!!!! I want to foster a baby too!!! Who knows? 🙂
