Grilled Cheese Party

I love cheese! 🙂 I prepared a MAKE your own Grilled Cheese sandwich for appetiser one Sunday lunch. I brought out what I could from what I have so for sure you can enhance and make a better spread especially by putting as many kinds of cheese as you can and as many fillings as you want 🙂

I used my cheese slices since I am promoting them haha!! We bring this in from France under the Bridel brand. But of course you can choose and use any cheese you want

My favourite food is home cooked food 🙂 So when Dina asked what we should have for Sunday lunch, I said I wanted Nelia’s cooking 🙂 For Sunday family lunch we always have pizza and this time we had S&R pizza 🙂

YUM!! How can you beat this? Home cooked means Made with LOVE 🙂 I wish I had Dina’s cook! haha!!

GAP RELAUNCHES NEW BABY REGISTRY PROGRAM

Gap recently relaunched its babyGap gift registry with added benefits to parents, their friends and their baby.

Now, with a minimum cumulative purchase of P7,500 made at the registry, parents will get to receive a Hello Baby Kit and a Gap Grow Card. Their friends who made purchases under the registry will get to receive 25% discount valid for a one-time purchase of regular items at any Gap store; and upon reaching P15,000 worth of purchases, both the parents and their friends will be given the Gap “VIP status” – giving them access to Gap exclusive offers and promotions. Per DTI-FTEB SPD Permit No. 8394 Series of 2015.

The Hello Baby Kit includes a Hello Baby Keep Sake Case personalized with the child’s name, welcome coupon with 20% discount on all regular items, animal and alphabet stickers to decorate the case, a personalized luggage tag, bunting for a baby shower or the nursery, a personalized greeting card from Gap, a special package from Mayad Beginnings, and a book to record the baby’s first year timeline.

So happy to discover this place which serves Mediterranean. It is bit easy to miss because the sign is quite small. It’s right after Steps Dance Studio and Cafe Mary Grace in Kalayaan

So happy to meet Macky Lovina, owner of Fig. A new restaurant that opened 6 months ago in Kalayaan. She told me that she’s into organic and green living and loves food. She is the sister of a friend Marta and cousin to my batchmate Rosanne Prieto and good friend Kai Prieto Moreno. She has a French Chef and 80% of their food is organic. It’s Mediterranean and healthy and yummy according to Juana so I’m looking forward to going back to try the food here at Fig

Visiting Betsy’s in Malabon

One of the stops of the Food Trip on the Malabon Tricycle Tour is Betsy’s.

Betsy’s is an institution in Malabon! It’s so old, it’s sign is already faded! 🙂 So I hope you don’t miss it when you go to Malabon

They are known for their birthday cakes. I miss these types of cakes, we hardly see them now in parties. I remember them when I was a kid 🙂

So happy to finally meet Betsy of Betsy’s Cake Center in Malabon with her daughter Besse. Betsy’s Cake Center was started by Betsy’s mom 40 years ago and was named after her being the youngest and the only daughter. She was known for her cake rolls and cakes and Betsy added more pastries and now the yummy Broas – must be eaten fresh and immediately which is why we know there are no preservatives in her pastries. People want to franchise and are also asking her to open in the city but she said she’s happy and content already

Now Betsy added so many other items and there is a full range of pastries here!

Behind the counter are the staff wearing pink headbands 🙂 My favourite colour 🙂 Spot Mommy Dionisia amongst them 🙂

Heart2Heart got to know Betsy because of her famous Broas! My friend, Joy Ortega, gave me som and it was history! 🙂

Malabon Tricycle Tour

From Joy’s place, we went to Malabon!! We did the Tricycle tour!! Joy’s friend, Melissa Sison ( wife of Mayor Len Len Oreta ), is the one behind this project! And it’s a great idea!!!

We were not able to do all because of time constraint so hope to be back to continue where we left off. Thank you Joy Ortega for a great adventure!!
We were greeted by Carla and Michael from Malabon Tours. Their color theme is my favorite color 🙂 And Kagawad Arvin who is so efficient and attentive 🙂

All the tricycle drivers are registered with the PNP to assure the safety and security of the tourists/ passenger

We started in the beautiful St. Bartholomew’s Church! You board the tricycle here after touring quickly the church. It just celebrated it’s 400th year anniversary

Not only the Vatican, but we have pigeons too! 🙂

Since we had little time, we did a combination food tour and the tricycle tour which includes landmarks. We went to the Gallery and home of Angel Cacnio. This is where he lives and it holds a collection of his best paintings, sculpture works of his sons Michael and Ferdinand

Angel Cacnio is a recipient of awards and citations due to various art legacies including the design of the P 100 and P 20 bills and some coins circulated in 1982 and 1983. He also designed the Malabon landmark icon in Letre road

Our last stop was Nanay’s Pancit Malabon since we had to go already

I went to my friend Joy’s place to meet up with her and super love her home!! Thank you for allowing Heart2Heart to share your beautiful home!

It’s so neat and not cluttered

Apparently the interiors were done by my friend and her sister in law, Nicole Ortega! Love these two beautiful ladies! Nicole says she does this as a hobby and for friends and family so it’s obviously a labor of love 🙂

A beautiful portrait of Joy which was painted by an artist in Italy, Cristina Fornarelli. She was walking in the “artist hallway” in Bologna and she saw the works of Cristina and bought an artwork from her. They became friends and she painted this portrait of Joy. Nice!! I joke her that she is Italian! Because she loves Italy – it’s like she is Italian! haha!
