Seven years ago, Peachy invited me to the launch of her first book, “Hold On Tight” Previous entry: Hold on Tight December 11, 2011
Today she launches “I Will Always Love You More.” A heartwarming book for us parents who for sure share the same kind of love for our children. So nice that Peachy has expressed this in her books. Congratulations Peachy! All proceeds will go to Gawad Kalinga 🙂
Singapore’s Boomerang Consultancy Pte. Ltd in collaboration with Sphere (an events arm of SIngapore Press Holdings, Inc) are bringing to Manila a unique gastronomic experience. Borrowing the same idea that has brought delight to foodies and the culinary world in Singapore for the past four years, Epicurean Masters presented by Banco de Oro (BDO) gathers world-class celebrity chefs on November 19, 24 and December 3, 2014.
Asia has been increasingly enjoying the limelight as a success story, seen as the major force leading the recovery of the global economy in the aftermath of the last financial crisis. The time has come for Asia to showcase its many facets of talents to those intrigued by its success.
One keenly watched aspect is the growing depth of rich and diverse offerings in exceptional dining cuisines across Asia. The records bear this out as the number of award-wining Michelin star chefs in Asia have been steadily rising; from Tokyo, Osaka to Hong Kong and Macau. Indeed, Tokyo now has the largest number of Michelin rated restaurants in the world.
Against this vibrant backdrop lies the creation of “Asian Masters” – a celebration of who we are to the world! It is a gourmet and lifestyle event that takes pride in celebrating Asia – our talents, our produce, our heritage and our culture.
Targeted at anyone who enjoys dining and vibrant lifestyles, the event provides a unique, carefully crafted platform to showcase a myriad of gourmet activities which includes demonstrations, workshops, luncheons, gala dinners and tastings. Lifestyle activities that revolve around the performing & visual arts, fashion, wellness, clubbing etc. are included, always with a thread of gastronomy and dining weaved into its programme.
Positioned as a key regional annual event that takes place over an entire month, its reach will extend far beyond Singapore’s shores to visitors from Hong Kong, China to Japan and Malaysia and now in the Philippines.
Inaugurated in January 2011, Asian Masters 2013 culminates one month of gastronomic and lifestyle events in the month of November. Targeted at anyone who enjoys dining and vibrant lifestyles, the event provides a unique, carefully crafted platform to showcase a myriad of gourmet activities which includes demonstrations, workshops, luncheons and gala dinners.
Hosted at venues such as Hotels, Restaurants, Theatres, Galleries, and Boutiques, this event targets a multi-tier market that enjoys dining & keeping up with trends; from the man on the street to the elite and is intended to showcase distinctive Asian talents & products. Using Singapore as a platform, Asian Masters encompass highlights that will engage regional visitors and positioning Singapore as a vibrant destination of Asia.
This culinary extravaganza features two stellar luminaries on the19th of November by Chef Bobby Chinn and on the 24th of November by Chef Bobby Chinn ( Asia and London ) together with Chef Dan Segall (Zuma, Ku de Ta ) at Old Manila, The PeninsulaHotel. The 3rd Dining event is going to be at Solaire’s Finestra.
Chef Bobby Chinn is a hugely popular culinary figure throughout Asia and in London. Both for his two highly-regarded restaurants in Vietnam and for the award-wininng TV series, World Café, which he has hosted on Discovery TLC for the past six years. Chef Bobby is one of the more colourful global chefs. His restaurants : Restaurant Bobby Chinn in Hanoi (since 2001) and Bobby Chinn Saigon (since 2011) have been compared to Rick’s Café of Casablanca. His third restaurant is The House of Ho in heart of Soho, London is showcasing a resolutely Vietnamese menu and some dishes with a “Bobby’s twist’.
Chef Dan Segall came on the radar of the culinary world because of his landmark innovations in restaurants like Zuma, Fat Cow, M1NT Shanghai, and KU DÉ TA Singapore. He is best-known for coming up with unique and very distinctive creations wherever he has worked.
Because of his culinary exile, Chef Dan Segall traveled to nearly 20 countries in five continents. This approach has allowed Segall to use all these influences as his playground to create a wonderfully inventive fusion menu for anyone who tries his food.

Chef Diego Chiarini on the other hand has been internationally recognized for his unique style of cuisine on numerous occasions. He has worked at Bice in Tokyo Four Seasons Hotel which has garnered the distinction of ten best Italian restaurants in the world.
His penchant for hand-selecting only the finest ingredients sourced directly from Italy has given prestigious establishments like the Royal Monceau Hotel in Paris, the Four Seasons Hotel in Milano, and the Hotel de Paris in Monaco even more sophistication and culinary appreciation from guests the world over.
The journey to a gastronomic adventure of a lifetime begins at Epicurean Masters presented by BDO this November 19.
The tickets are at Php10,000 per person to be available with a 15% off if they use BDO Elite Credit Cards at Solaire and for inquiries,

Introducing the Filidoodles Collection by Alex Eduque and Julia Morales. Heart2Heart loves the Filipiniana inspiration
FILIDOODLES – the collection
The filidoodles collection is the second collection born out of the desire of Oliver and Maude to share its blessings. It is inspired by all things Filipino; more specifically, the rich culture and festivities of our beloved Philippines. We have chosen to pay tribute to the rich culture and history of the Filipino heritage in the form of these doodles, which have been transformed into prints and icons for this holiday collection.
MASKARRA
As the key symbol of the maskarra festival (celebrated in Bacolod every October, the maskarra is a tribute to all Filipino festivals and festivities. The fine detail reflected in the original drawing is a reflection of the ornate craftsmanship and intricate details of all Filipino handicrafts produced in the very same islands where the festivals are often held.
AMPARO
The amparo design was inspired by my undying love for butterflies and the traditional Filipino children’s hymn Paru-Parong Bukid, whose story has been told and words that have been re-sung through generations of Filipino children.
VINTAS
The vintas are inspired by the actual colorful boats (vintas) from Zamboanga. The vibrant colors used in the actual drawing depicts the festive and uniquely Filipino way of celebrating the Yuletide season.

She started in Rustan’s dept store in 1985 as an inventory accounting clerk and was promoted as Merchandise planning manager til 2004. We became friends in the course of work because we would work 24/7 crunching the numbers. Naks! She then moved with me and we followed my Mom to Rustan’s flower shop from 2004 to 2005 and Rustan’s Supermarket from 2005 to 2006. And now she is still with my Mom and my sister in Unilogix helping bake and cook yummy food for many major companies. That is a total of 29 years of her life working for the family and counting She has remained a friend since I started in Rustan’s and she is one of my angels. She watches over me until now and I don’t have to tell her anything, she already knows what I need and quietly takes care of me. I am thankful for the loyalty and friendship.
