Moonlight Dinner by the Beach

We had a wonderful last evening at Aman! We are all grateful for this wonderful blessing!!

As we walked out of the villa towards the beach, there was this wonderful set up!

Sky Lanterns

On our last night at Aman, we all released paper lanterns with our wishes. We did this by the beach beside our dinner table. Jigger was the first to release his lantern

We looked at the news the next day and apparently that same night in Ilo Ilo they were releasing lanterns too and they made it to the Guiness Book of World Records with the most number of paper lanterns

Grotto and Garden Cave

The next day I wanted to go back to the path to the Lagoon restaurant since I saw a grotto and a cave. I was scared to go at night 🙂 Hmmm…looks like someone is setting up for a BBQ

The Lagoon Vietnamese Restaurant Amanpulo

Jerome treated us to dinner at the vietnamese restaurant nearby the Villa. Thank you Jerome!!

Though I was hoping we could have Villa meals, I was happy we went to The Lagoon and so we saw Emily and Josh! 🙂

We had a healthy dinner with mostly vegetable dishes and seafood. I did not monitor anymore as I was too intent on trying to figure out how I could take a photo of Emily and Josh! 🙂

Discarded Romance by Mike Stilkey

Last June 6, I was able to stop by Fully Booked to meet Mike Stilkey as he was installing his artwork!

He has brought this to Times Square Hong Kong and not in Manila. This will already be a permanent installation in Fully Booked

And here he is! 🙂 What a pleasure to meet the artist. For many years he wanted to be a professional skateboarder but because he kept getting hurt, this dream sort of changed and he began to draw. Catch him today at 3pm for a Dialogue and book signing!

Chris Daez was there too!!

Mike will have some artworks for sale – on Books and on Paper with a price range of around P 50,000 to P 150,000.00 which is very reasonable for the work that he does

Emily and Josh at Amanpulo

On our second night, we decided to have dinner outside the villa again. From the Villa, we walked to the left side of the beach and went to the Vietnamese restaurant. That same evening Emily Van Camp and Joshua Bowman were dining there! It was Lindy who spotted them and she told us

I am usually so focused on taking my photos as I entered the center of the restaurant I did not even notice them as they were seated in the only table by the center of the restaurant facing the beach. They were given the best seat in the house. This was their table after they left. James did not want me to ask them for a photo because I may invade their privacy and may cause embarassment. So i just took a photo of their table! haha!!

The funny thing was when I entered the restaurant I even avoided taking a photo of the table because I normally don’t like putting photos of people when taking interiors, so I even moved my camera to the right to avoid their table

Little after we arrived, they were going to leave! So I panicked! I just looked back and took their photo as they were looking at something by the bar! So this is the only proof I have 🙂

Picnic Grove at Amanpulo

Though I love eating at the villa and having Chef Miguel’s cooking, It was nice to discover the other food choices at the resort. We went to the picnic grove for lunch

Another pathway which I loved!!

Quite a long pathway to get inside the grove with nice Filipiniana lanterns hanging on top

Before getting to the picnic grove- turn right for a detour to the beach!

Goat cheese, sliced pear, Walnuts, arugula and white truffle oil

with extra anchovies 🙂
