 This year we will be having the biggest event dedicated to mothers in line with Mother’s day entitled “The Mommy Diaries”, to be held at the NBC Tent. The bazaar will be from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on May 28-29, 2011. 

This special event would showcase the business ventures of Mompreneurs as well as various gift items, children’s goods, fashion and food that mothers from across the metro would truly appreciate. Several classes and features will also be conducted by field experts on special topics such as childcare, feminine health, and many more.

 The 2-day expo will have a festive atmosphere perfect for the Mother’s Month of May. With more than 150 booths featuring houseware items, personal care products, children’s items, baby products and accessories all under one roof, this will definitely be a one-stop shop and place to be for all mommy’s out there! Winny

I am trying to help my friend, Winny, meet more clients because I think that he is very talented.  Winny trained in Rever Academy in Hong Kong and was awarded Outstanding in Men’s cut and Ladies cut and double exposure.  He used to work in Sensei Salon in Manila Hilton and among his clients were Melanie Marquez, Maria Resa and Korina Sanchez.   He then tried to have his own parlor with a partner but it did not work out so now he only does home service.   He can do hair and make up.  I have not tried the make up yet but he has been cutting my hair for the past 2 years already.  And Winny is a very very kind and soft spoke person, I really like him. 

He charges only P 500.00 for home service but of course will appreciate additional tips if you like his service.  What I do is I try to gather as many people like my sons or my Mom so his trip is more worth it.

A TRIBUTE TO “LA PISCINE” – DAZZLING SUNLIGHT AND RARIFIED SENSUALITY

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO PRESENTS SPRING/SUMMER 2011 ADV CAMPAIGN

For the Spring Summer 2011 advertising campaign, Ferragamo reiterates its link with the Big Screen through images shot photographer Mikael Jansson that reinterpret the seduction and bohemian spirit from the classic French film, “La Piscine”, the source of inspiration for the season’s collections.

The story is told through a series of poolside images that convey sensuality and seduction. Dominated by summer sunlight, the photos evoke the type of languid, luxurious summer holiday expected of the Salvatore Ferragamo jet-set couple.

Just as in Jacques Deray’s 1968 film starring Alain Delon, Jane Birkin, and Romy Schneider, the campaign shots describe a sophisticated poolside seduction, with the natural allure of the protagonists’ tanned bodies, the lazy spontaneity of utter relaxation, the casual elegance of a cocktail at sunset and embraces in evening attire before a part on the beach. The feeling of this refines summer holiday is distinctive through elegant details and looks pit together with nonchalance and ease.

Supporting roles are played by Ferragamo accessories; bags with natural textures, sandals in leather and raffia, ultra-flat slave sandals, bijoux like talismans, exclusive wristwatches and stylish sunglasses, icons of the Brand. Impeccable summer elegance in ivory and white with touches of navy blue for him, while she favors an eclectic style that combines bohemian elements with ultra-chic pieces – crocheted knits, silk mini-shorts, safari jackets, gossamer-fine flounced dresses and knotted headscarves.

Stylist Anastasia Barbieri worked with Mikael Jansson on the campaign, shot in Ibiza in early November. The campaign features models Daria Werbowy and Clement Chabernaud. Accomplice to the shoot was the sunlight, which emphasized the atmosphere and the models’ look at every moment of the day – discreet and inviting in the morning and soft and caressing at sunset. It creates plays of light and shadows on faces and warms the natural leather textures of the accessories, while enhancing the whites and ecrus of the clothes.

“Mikael’s images exactly mirror the inspiration for the collection: a sophisticated woman with the natural taste for luxury,” said Massimiliano Giornetti, Creative Director of Salvatore Ferragamo. “A fascinating man near a swimming pool where the characters play out their lives…the flawless blue of the sky and the vitreous colors of summer… Slow, relaxed movement… The search for beauty without compromise…Rarified moments of timeless elegance interpreted magnificently by Daria Werbowy e Clement Chabernaud, and impeccably captured by Mikael.”

Javs and I have found OUR place 🙂  I hardly have the chance to pick up Javs from school so last week when I did, I took him for merienda.  Mike has been telling us about this place for so long and finally we got to try it.  Though it took the place of Healthy Kitchen which we also enjoyed

We asked the waiter what the bestsellers are and he said, The Pilgrim, The Buffy, Roast Beef and Reuben

We chose the roast beef to share, this is how it came.  You can upgrade your chips to double fried french fries and a soda for P 95.00 so that is what we did

Up Close!  The ciabatta was super fresh, crunchy and so so good!! We really really enjoyed our Roast beef sandwich.

We actually preferred the homemade potato chips…make sure to dip it in the garlic sauce and chuck’s sauce.  Since Chuck’s sauce is spicy, I mix it with the garlic sauce to tone it down- goes perfectly with the sandwich and with the chips!!

After our merienda, we suggested to take Dad here to try the sandwiches, so a few days after we were back!  We took up half of the restaurant already 🙂 It’s a good thing there are many choices to cater to each one’s taste

The Philly Cheese Steak was Tammy’s favorite while James and I prefer our bread to be heated and a bit crunchy, Chuck’s hoagie was soft
