Culte Femme Summer 2011

By | Fashion, What's New at Rustan's | One Comment

It’s a printed matter!

culte-femme-summer-2011-06.jpg culte-femme-summer-2011-09.jpg

We kick off this summer with color and prints (lots of it!). For Rustan’s Culte Femme, bold color is the new black this summer. As fashion flashes back to the decade of 1970s this season, we are offering you our hand-picked favorites inspired by this era. Aside from bold color choices, the retro vibe was amplified by an explosion of prints and patterns. There is also a bit of a tropical feel to the collection – it is for summer, after all – with palm-tree prints in full skirts to match ruffled camisoles. Our newest muse is a sexy and smart pin-up girl clad in 70s prints and silhouettes. She is bold when it comes to her color choices. Two prints at a time are very wearable when worn together either by a unifying element: by color or silhouette (or both!). We wanted to make it more modern by mixing up the looks more.

A new season means new must-haves! For daywear, take your pick from printed flowy camisoles, geometric high-waist shorts, haltered jumpsuits, and throw-on maxi dresses. Mix and match prints depending on your mood! The key look is a mishmash of prints for a bolder take on this season’s print and pattern play. Punctuate your look with wrap-around belts and waist-cinchers.

Channel your inner glamazon with the eveningwear pieces. Luxe dresses and jumpsuits were fluid and draped, reminiscent of the heyday of Studio54 with Jerry Hall as its fashion muse. For more fashion-forward femmes who want to take it up a notch, the metallic pieces can work well together with something printed. Whether your summer plans include a quick beach trip or hot summer nights in the cruise, create a sartorial statement with Culte Femme’s new collection this season.

Culte Femme is designed by Hindy Weber-Tantoco and is exclusively available at Rustan’s Makati, Edsa Shangri-La,  Alabang Town Center and Gateway.

ION Orchard, Singapore

By | Shopping, Travel | No Comments

This was one of our favorite malls this trip, aside from it being near the hotel, it’s a mall with all kinds of shops!

ion-mall-06.jpgion-mall-05.jpgion-mall-011.jpgion-mall-04.jpgion-mall-01.jpgion-mall-03.jpg

The highest floors are the high end brands, and as you go lower and lower, the prices go lower as well. 🙂 There is even a Daiso in this mall!! So you can imagine from a Prada to a Daiso all in one mall 🙂

ion-mall-02.jpg

Again, love the escalators leading to the MTR or the underground

ion-mall-08.jpgion-mall-09.jpg

This is the lower floors 🙂

In Singapore, you will see signs like this in many locations, it tells you how many available parking slots there are in each mall nearest the sign or in the vicinty. How efficient can they be!

From Crisann Celdran, sister of Javy

crisannicanserve.jpg

For six years I was perfectly happy being the youngest in the family.  Then Javy came along – the pest! – and I think its safe to say that, through the years, we were responsible for most of the wrinkles and white hair you see on our mom and dad today. We’re older, wiser  and finally up to some good and we hope you can help us out here.

I’ll let Jav explain how. Thanks in advance and feel free to pass this on.

Crisann

Universal Studios Singapore

By | Entertainment, Travel | No Comments

The latest attraction in Sentosa.  We bought our tickets online to be sure we had guaranteed access since we were in Singapore for a limited time only.  They say that they only sell a certain number of tickets in  day. So it is good to buy in advance.  We also invested in FAST PASSES to avoid long lines which was a good decision because the lines were very very long

universal-studios-singapore-01.jpguniversal-studios-singapore-02.jpg

It was very very hot in Singapore.  They said we we were at the height of summer so it was really really hot.  Good thing I brought my umbrella 🙂  Needed to drink many liquids to rehydrate.  I think when in an amusement park, better to be in COLD weather than HOT!  Personally, Universal Studios Osaka was much more pleasant because of the weather

Previous entry:  Universal Studios Japan Jan 26, 2009

The first ride which I did not ride 🙂   There are two colors of rails for the coaster – red and blue

universal-studios-singapore-06.jpg

So there are two entrances – The red is called HUMAN – apparently this is for those who just want to ride a roller coaster without the loop

universal-studios-singapore-011.jpg

Cyclon – the blue one – is for the adventurous ones!

universal-studios-singapore-08.jpg

Love seeing these characters on stilts walking around

universal-studios-singapore-07.jpguniversal-studios-singapore-014.jpg

This ride was right beside the roller coaster – for those who didnt ride the roller coaster…..like me! 🙂

universal-studios-singapore-010.jpg

The Mummy which everyone seemed to enjoy…again EXCEPT ME 🙂  Roller coaster in the dark!  I guess it is their version of space mountain where you don’t know where the coaster will take you!

universal-studios-singapore-012.jpg

A mummy on stilts 🙂

universal-studios-singapore-013.jpg

Then the other major ride was Jurassic park where you can get wet. Make sure you have extra clothes or else you will spend $50 for a tshirt from the shops 🙂  Since I was with the older group- we did not get to ride the kiddie rides which I would actually have enjoyed over the coasters 🙂  We ate lunch before 12 noon to avoid the crowds or else you will also be lining up just to get food.  It’s always best to dine during non peak times, then maybe ride when everyone is eating!! We went out by 2pm because it was just too hot.
